Ruby face her captors

By the evening Ruby was invited to have dinner in the dining room. Gia came to help her get ready. With her new resolution, she went to face her captors.

When she reached the dining room there were already seated two men, one of which is the man who forced her out of the room. She went on to seat on the chair assigned to her infront of the younger man, with the older one on the head of the table.

She was greeted by the older man.

"Good evening, What's your name " She was asked.

"Good evening, my name is Ruby James." She said calmly even though her tummy is in knots.

"Such a beautiful name for one as beautiful as you." The older man gave her a compliment, in  which she replied politely while the younger man just looked at her observing.

"Thank you." she smiled a little as she answered.

"Feel at home dear, as this will be your home from now on." She long to asked what she is doing in this house but, the older man signal for them to start their meal. 

Ruby ate in silence but she  coud feel the eyes of the man infront of her, looking intently as if measuring her personality, she feel uneasy and inadequate considering their status in life. But then she came to remember the resolution she made  she feel  that she had to do something. she had to fight to survive. She won't make it if she keeps on having this inferiority complex. 

She raise head  slowly and meet the stare of the man infront not breaking the eye contact. The man was surprise by her move and was the first to break the contact.

Ruby never knew the effects of her piercing blue eyes it exudes a power of it's own it's either irrisistible or breathelessly disturbing. it also held the innocence that some feel attractive.

"You're so quiet my dear." the older man said breaking the silence dominating the dining table.

" I just don't know what to say." she answered and smile briefly.

"Aren't you going to ask what are you doing here? or inquire who  we are? " the older man did not mince his words.

"I've been meaning to ask, but I don't want to be rude." the older man holds a respect in his eyes he never met a girl who is so honest and straight forward.

"Okay let's start from the beggining. I am Raul  Gomez, and this is my son Lukas Gomez he owns this house. You are here to accompany him." He said pointedly.

"What does the word accompany means? " she said without smiling.

" Any thing my dear. you could be anything that you or he will decide, be it a girlfriend, a lover or a live-in partner." His face was wiped of any emotion. Beneath  his initial friendliness lies a cold hearted man , ruthless as the man infront of her. He was so quiet assessing the conversation.

"Don't I have a say on this? since I am the party involve." She met the older man with a straight face unwavering not showing any fear, but hidden under the table her hands are shaky and sweaty clenching and unclenching.

"You don't have  a say on this my dear, You see I paid for you a handsome price, meaning to say I own you. But since I have no use for you I am relinquising my ownership of you  to my only son." He said testing her.

" But I am not for sale. I am my own person nobody owns me."

"But you are now. Do you want me to have to show a receipt to assert my ownership?" He said getting annoyed.

"Why? Does your son unable to attract woman to be his partner that you resort in buying or should I say force to buy a 'Not for sale commodity'. "  Ruby emphasizes the not for sale commodity to show her disgust. She  retaliated with no care for whatever the consequences, if  his will be her fate she will not go down without a fight.

"Enough!!!  That was a preposterious idea! You are talking as if I'm not here." he stood up slaming the table. sending his chair to tumble behind him. 

" Then why don't you join in the conversation as this is also concerns you!" Ruby blow her top equally stood up sending her chair to the same fate as the one earlier.

" Tsk. tsk. tsk. So fiery, so brave. Now you unleashed the wrath of the sleeping tiger." Raul Gomez said addressing Ruby but he remain sitting down as if the outburst doesn't concern him.

"Stop this foolishness father! I will not tolerate insolence in this house! " Lukas said angrily then walk away.

"As i said you don't have a choice on this my dear, either you concede or you will be lock inside your room." he said ruthlessly but deep inside. Ruby earned his respect,  she was not like the other women who are spineless and just waiting for knight in shining armor to save them. The girl is fiesty and spunky. He he he... She is just perfect for Lukas tenacity. He thought to himself.

Ruby was send to her room once more by two bulky men. who just appeared out of nowhere.  But she left some parting words for her captors."This is illegal detension punishable by the law. I hope you know that!"      

"Don't worry my dear Ruby I know how to deal with that. He he he he." He was just contented with the outcome of his purchase. Ruby had just earned her weight in gold. 

Ruby was back in her room to spend another round of planning and wondering  how this plans will ever be accomplished. when will she be free from this place.

Beneath her fearless encounter earlier she gain some confidence that she never knew she posses. It was so easy to show confidence but so hard to realized the threats she issued. She knew for herself that when it comes to the  law she was way behind her wealthy opponents.
