He looked deep into her deep green eyes, lightly touching her hair with his calloused fingers.
"I love you," he breathed, bending down. I gasped, knowing his intentions.
"Juliette!"
Juliette lifted her head from her book, her mothers demanding voice startling her.
Her mother usually knows not to disturb her while she's reading.
Setting down the thick love novel Juliette had been so wrapped up in on her desk, she fixed her clothes, and walked out of her bedroom.
Her house is a blanket of warmth she noticed, as she walked down the stairs of her small house.
Being a rouge isn't glamorous; they are treated like dirt, and hated among the pack community.
Juliette walked down the hallway, stopping at the lounge room for which she knew her mother would be in.
She was apprehensive at first, worried that she was in the wrong because she does tend to find trouble easily.
She walked into the cozy lounge, a foreign person sitting on the couch, sipping tea from one of mothers posh cups.
She seemed around early 50's, with light grey hair and wrinkled cheeks.
She had a bright smile, and blue eyes that were barely viewable behind her thick glasses.
She wore a pristine white coat, and polished black shoes
One of her shriveled hands was holding a small metal cart, that had what looked like a safe upon it.
She looked straight up like a nurse, leaving Juliette wanting to trace her steps back up to her bedroom, where her favorite book and bed was.
The old lady and Juliette's mother Karen stood, Karen looking like she just won the lottery.
"Juliette Kerson, my name is Linda and I'm here to inform you about what will happen in the next two months."
Linda's voice was strangely deep for a woman, but calming all the same, as she stuck her pale hand out.
Confused, and equally nervous, Juliette shook her delicate hand.
"I'm sorry, but can you please explain," Juliette asked, glancing at Karen, who was beaming widely, her cheeks bright pink and red.
"Congratulations, you have been chosen for the 30 day pack trial!" she yelped like it was the best thing in the world, while Juliette's heart sank, and her stomach turned over.
"I-i don't understand," she stuttered, looking at her mother then back at Linda.
Juliette doesn't want to be in the 30 day trail, let alone in the nightmare pack.
Every year 100 juvenile Wolves are chosen to do the 30 day trail, and only 50 of those Wolves make it into the Nightmare pack.
At the same time all Wolves over 50 years old in the nightmare pack are kicked out to be rouges like over half the Werewolf population.
Everyone but an Alpha is born a rouge, if you wish to be a pack member, you must work for it.
The nightmare pack is known worldwide for their courage, strength and high number of pack warriors.
"But i didn't sign up," Juliette told her sternly, shaking her head frantically at her absurd idea.
"Oh darling, the rules have changed this year! You no longer sign up, you are nominated!" she cheered, making Juliette turn her gaze to Karen's guilty face.
Karen has always insisted Juliette sign up for the 30 day trial, but she refused, saying she wasn't interested.
Juliette is quite content living as a rouge, with more freedom.
"I'm sorry darling, but i thought it was best," Karen defended herself, putting her hands up to show she was sorry.
"I don't want to go, can i pull out?" Juliette turned to Linda, who shook her head grimly, seemingly confused as to why Juliette wouldn't want to be I'm the nightmare pack.
"No, we have had to many potential She Wolves pull out last year, so the Alpha King has set up a new rule; you must attend."
Linda's stern words made Juliette frown, but mainly want to let the earth swallow up.
She had a sibling it would be fine, her mother would never have forced her to do something she didn't want to.
Linda didn't wait for her reply, but turned to the safe, unlocking it with the key that hung around her neck.
Juliette watched nervously, her hands sweaty and her heart racing steadily against her ribs.
Juliette yelped as she pulled out a small needle, and a paper looking thing.
"What is that?" Juliette asked hoarsely, swallowing a large lump in her throat.
"Before you go to the 30 day trial, two tests must be done, and the one i do is the blood test."
Juliette shivered at the word blood; the word she hated most in the whole world.
Linda grabbed Juliette's thin wrist, which she tried to snatch away, but Linda wouldn't let go, her nails digging into her skin.
"Don't struggle or it sill hurt," she growled, her calm stature gone.
Juliette couldn't help the whimper that left her mouth as Linda dabbed her wrist with some chemical that burned slightly, and grabbed the needle between her fingers.
"Now, this test to make sure there is no diseases in your blood that could be passed into the pack," she sang, her cheery voice coming back, as she pricked Juliette's pure wrist.
The pain wasn't as harsh as expected, only leaving a small sting that lasted around five seconds.
"What happens if I'm diseased?" Juliette asked through gritted teeth, looking as her blood spread around the silver needle.
"Someone else who was nominated will take your place," she said simply, placing the little pad over the wound, then lifting it.
She popped it into a little bag, with Juliette's last name Kerson written on it.
A glimmer of hope showed beneath her words, Juliette hoping she somehow had some disease to get her out of it.
Putting a plaster on, Linda left the house with Juliette's blood in a safe.
"It could be worse."Juliette looked at her mother with a harsh glare, before turning her head away. This whole week she's been ignoring her.She curled my legs up onto the couch, propping her chin on her hand, ignoring the loud TV in front of her.Suddenly a sharp knock at the door sounded through the room, taking both Juliette and her Mum by surprise. She got up, nervously opening it slightly.Juliette couldn't hear or see who her mother was talking to through the crack in the door, but when she opened it, she sighed.A young lady walked through the door, her high heels adding inches to her height. She held a ring binder on her arm, her brown hair pulled up into a bun.She looked incredibly superior, making Juliette fix her brunette curls before standing."Juliette Kerson, my name is Sarah, I'm here to congratulat
~You're InThe woman's cheerful buzz radiated around the lounge, her smile slightly fuzzy through Juliette's morning gaze. Clipboard in hand, pen in the other she looked too ecstatic with the situation, like waking Juliette up at four AM was a pleasant past time.Rubbing her eyes for the third time, Juliette regarded the female and her grim looking assistant, who's manly shoulders didn't suit the woman. Yes woman."Well this is great news!"The striking of hands together on her mothers part shocked Juliette out of her state of drowsiness, and into the sad reality. Life. She had missed out on a fair amount of her mother, and the random woman pairs conversation due to the onset of depression that come with grim news. She knew, from the second the clean cut woman in white, and her gruesome assistant walked through the door. She had gotte
~Day One Monday"Its started!"Juliette groaned, rolling over to shove her pillow over her ear. No way she she getting up at this hour."Shut up Jazz," she mumbled incoherently, turning over to see Jazz was freshly showered, and wearing black leather pants, and a very tight black shirt."Up and at 'em," Jazz called, running a brush through her thick hair. Juliette contemplated jumping up and grabbing that pretty little neck of hers.Sitting up, Jazz screwed her face up as Juliette clicked her weary bones. She was not ready for this, but Jazz seemed completely happy to be 'learning' today. She was definitely going to be hard to knock out."So first, we have defense and attack classes with Alpha Cain," Jazz read from their timetable. Sadly they would be in all the same classes."Alpha who?" Juliette mum
~Part Two, Day One"So this is like an immunity?"Delani sat, stock still beside Juliette. Her black hair was still draped across her face, even as she mumbled quietly to the Alpha. The Alpha King stood in front of ten, special students, including Juliette.Arms crossed, silver eyes bright and stern. He radiated power and domination over the whole group. They may be a group of strong Werewolves, but the ten of them could never take down such an Alpha."Not at all. You may be special, but I could kick you from this group this second," the King said, his eyes traveling down to her chest where her name tag was pinned. "Delani."He must have forgot her name, Juliette nearly had.No one had acknowledged her when she walked in, some male eyes fleeting up to meet her gaze, but it only ever lasted a few secon
~Day Two, Tuesday"Is it obvious?" Juliette asked, running her finger across her bruised cheek. Jazz stood behind her, looking into the mirror at her as well."Ah, not to blind people?" She offered, looking at the bruise meekly. Juliette sighed, letting her hair from her ponytail. It fell in a wave of golden tresses across her cheek. She fiddled till it covered most of the bruise. It worked enough. The pain wasn't that bad this morning. Being a Werewolf was worth it in some ways."We need to get going, breakfast, then fitness and health with Alpha Drake," Jazz chirped, grabbing Juliette's arm.Fitness and health didn't sound like something Juliette was particularly interested in.Nevertheless, Juliette allowed herself to be dragged down to get food.†"I wont talk back again, I swear," Juliette heaved, grabbing the grass in front of
~Day Three, Wednesday"If you don't get your little ass up right now...I'm going to leave without you, and you will smell like a teenage boy who's hibernated in a sleeping bag for the past ten weeks."Juliette's head shot up at Jazz's words. She sat at the end of her bed, two pink towels in hand, and two different uniforms. Her hair was messy, and her face pale and splotchy. She looked so, unkempt that Juliette nearly laughed."Yeah yeah yeah, I got it red head," Juliette mumbled, running a hand through her own hair, only to have her fingers get tangled in knots. She swung her legs from the bed, tossing her covers back."You look surprisingly good. You must be a morning person," Jazz observed, tossing a towel into Juliette's arms, who snorted out loud."Wish I could say the same for you," Juliette joked, standing up, the end of her nighty fell around her thighs. It was surprisingly
~Day Four, ThursdayJuliette curled up, hugging her knees. She had hoped to sleep off her strange depression. She didn't know why finding out that Jaxon was about to officially ask another girl to his mate was so...upsetting.Juliette slid from her bed, seeing Jazz perched on the end of her own bed, looking concerned. Jazz had already showered, and looked primp and clean as usual."What's wrong?" She asked gently. Juliette wasn't in the mood to pour her sob story out to anyone, especially since it was so ridiculous."Nothing, what do we have today?" She asked, veering the subject away from her."What do you mean? Don't you have weapon handling with the King?" Jazz asked. Juliette shook her head. Nobody had told her that."Not that I know of," Juliette retorted, looking around for her uniform. Jazz tilted her head."De
~Day Five, Friday"I am so sorry, I slept in."Juliette stumbled into the hall, her fingers fumbling with her ponytail.Alpha Kade turned to glare at Juliette as she hurried in. Jazz hadn't woken her, but left without her.Alpha Kade's eyes blazed a oblivion black as she ran over to sit with the rest of the group. Juliette didn't sit by Jazz."Next time, expect punishment," he hissed, wringing his hands together. He didn't seem nice at all, but then again she had broken a rule."As I was saying class, I only have you for the morning. The afternoon will be spent with the Alpha King, who will be eliminating the first few students of the week," Kade said, a smirk playing on his lips.
~SierraI lay my gun on the table in front of me.He stands in front of me, his arms folded. Maya kneels beside him, looking down. The way she fiddled with her fingers showed she was anxious."We should move in now, their King is in critical condition. They have no chance now," he said softly, sweeping a hand through his ginger hair. I saw Maya wince."Our plan is going perfectly. Everyone suspects Juliette is Delani's killer," I say. He nodded, a slim smile lighting up his features."Perfect, and Ace?""The resistance poses no threat to us. We just need to worry about Jaxon and his pack," I state."But Jaxon is nearly dead?"
~Day Sixteen, MondayJuliette stretched out in bed, feeling oddly warm and sated. She sat up, looking at the wall of Jaxon's room. She looked to her right, and gasped as she saw a half naked Ace lying there, watching her."You finally woke," he said softly, a slight smile playing on his lips. Juliette blinked in confusion, sliding away from him slowly."Ace? What are you doing?" Juliette asked nervously, trying not to let her eyes drift from his. He tilted his head, looking equally confused."I was watching you sleep," he muttered, trying to move closer. Juliette squeaked and went to jump off the bed, but Ace's hand shot out and grabbed her arm, stopping her."Where's Jaxon?" Juliette questioned, looking around while trying to shake from Ace's grip. They were in his room, in his bed, but he wasn't there."He left," Ace said softly, pulling Juliette closer. Bl
Part Two, Sunday"Jaxon..." Juliette warned, her eyes narrowing back at the Kings dispassionate gaze."I will take care of this, while you stay here," he proclaimed, raising a eyebrow. Juliette snorted in dismissal. He didn't know where the resistance was, nor what he was dealing with. He needed to step back and let her or Ace take care of it."Jaxon seriously," Juliette huffed, as Jaxon blocked the door with his massive torso. He stared down at her, completely adamant."You will stay in this room, sleep and let me worry about Blaise. He is my responsibility, considering I may be his possible Alpha," Jaxon exclaimed. Juliette folded her arms. She much preferred to fight for herself, not have someone do it for her."Don't think you can keep me locked in here like your goddamn Princess
-Part One, SundayJuliette flipped the towel over her arm, as she entered the girls shower room. Due to the fact that she had slept with Jazz back in there old room, she had to use the public showers; not a favourite.Feigning innocence last night was easier then she thought. Sure she wasn't supposed to let Jaxon mark her, unless she wanted him dead. But she wanted to kill Ace like he killed Chris. He had bailed straight after his interruption.Juliette had decided that it would be easier if she slept back with Jazz for he night. Jaxon wasn't to keen on that idea, but allowed it once he decided that Juliette knew nohing, and that he needed to think.Juliette waded through the steam in the room, seeing on one figure in the bathroom. Bella. She was brushing her curly blonde hair, staring a herself in the mirror. She had just a towel wrapped around her body.Jul
~SaturdayAce walked slowly, deliberately. He crossed the main hall at a good pace, his eyes trained on the massive chair at the top of the stairs. As he made it close enough, he knelt down on one knee, which pressed against the cold marble."Sir."He bowed his head, staring down at his shoe. Silence stretched across the room."You have failed me Ace," a voice said from behind the chair, embroidered with gold and red. Ace swallowed, but didn't move a single limb.More silence."Juliette Kerson was placed in situation of danger due to your lack of guidance," they spoke again. Ace suddenly had a flash back to the day Maya tried to kill Juliette."Have you secured Maya Green's position?" His boss asked, his voice low and dea
-Day Fifteen, FridayA jolting pain in Juliette's side woke her from her slumber. She groaned and rolled over, her hand finding her side.It was wet. Juliette screamed and retracted her hand, looking to see it covered in her own blood. Juliette looked down, and screamed again when she saw she was stark naked. And in the middle of the woods. She looked around, her eyes searching for something, anything. This was surely a dream, and her dreams always had some moral.Suddenly Ace stumbled into view, his black eyes wide with fury. He looked at Juliette, who backed away till her back was against a tree. Juliette tried covering herself, afraid of him seeing her naked. He was shirtless, his torso covered in scratches and cuts, blue blood weeping from the wounds."Kill him Juliette, show me that our love is forever," Ace muttered, his head lolling to the side. He poi
~Day Fourteen, ThrusdayJuliette sat up, gasping for air.Where am I?She looked frantically around the room, to see she was no longer alone in the cabin of the resistance, but in her and Jazz's old room. She sighed and slipped from bed, her feet finding the familar carpet."It was only a dream..." Juliette muttered softly to herself. Skinwalkers, she had never heard of them. She looked down to see she wasn't in her uniform, but a pair of black trackpants, and a blue shirt she had never seen in her life."What the-"Juliette looked up, and screamed as she saw Ace, sitting on the edge of Jazz's old bed, his eyes on Juliette. She sighed and held her hand to her chest, feeling her rapid heart."You scared me," Juliette snapped, glaring at him. Ace chuckled."You look better this morning, the cut on your side has healed w
-Day Thirteen, Wednesday"Stay in bed with me..." Jaxon groaned, grabbing Juliette's hips. She laughed and fell back into the bed. She was in a good mood from not having a single nightmare last night. And Jaxon seemed to be in a pretty good mood as well."I have class," Juliette giggled, rolling over so she was on top of Jaxon. He watched her with amusment, his silver eyes alight with excitment."And the Alpha King shouldn't be the one keeping me from school," Juliette stated, tracing her finger down Jaxon's strong jawline. He was really handsome, even in the morning. His fluffy black hair, as dark as obsidian, his silver eyes, so bright and luminious."Hmm true, I do want you to make it into the pack," Jaxon said softly. Juliette gazed at him for a moment, before smiling gently. Her finger trailed down the base of his neck, and to the neck line of his shirt."Why, so you can keep an eye on me?" Jul
~Day Twelve, TuesdayJuliette groaned. It was another dream, it had to be. Although she wasn't in her original dorm room, but in Jaxon's room. She was standing at the foot of the bed, staring at the covers. Everything seemed hazy, and she had a sudden urge to pull the covers away. Instead, she she tried all the doors, to find them locked. She glared at the covers. Suddenly they moved and she screamed a little, backing up till her back ht the door. Jaxon pushed the covers back. He was alive in this dream."Juliette, what are you doing?" he asked, tilting his head to the side. His silver eyes were glazed over. Relief flooded through Juliette."I thought I was having a dream..." she explained, advancing on Jaxon."Where did you get that knife baby?" he asked, his voice oddly monotone. Then she realized he wasn't looking at her, but behind her.Juliette turned slowly, t
