The guards at the gate looked down at me disdainfully and said to the men who brought me here, "Is this the slave? She looks young."

Suddenly, I heard footsteps approaching and two people came out, a woman and a man.

"Heh, Garry sent someone so young? What is he thinking?" the man said while scrutinizing me.

I just look at him expressionlessly.

"Hm? This girl wasn't intimidated by you, Lucio. Interesting. I guess I know what Garry was thinking about when he sent this poor girl here." the woman said while smirking.

Hmph! If I'm a poor girl, you are a pretentious girl!

"What is it, Tanya?"

"I'll tell you later." the woman stared at me and said, "What's your name?"

I stared at her and answered in a monotonous tone, "Arielle,"

Her lips curled up into a devious smirk. "I think you are quite useful to the pack."

Useful? How could I be useful to them?

Whatever!

Then they ordered someone to take me inside with them.

Despite being unwilling, I couldn't do anything but relent for now.

Becoming a slave is not a bad thing for me. I will use this opportunity to grow and once I'm strong enough, I will escape from here and take my bloody revenge!

Garry Morgan... wait for me.

I will make sure you will die a painful death!

After five minutes, the guards threw me to the servant's quarter.

All the servants look at me pitifully.

A woman stood in front of me with a condescending attitude.

"What's your name, new girl?" she asked.

"Arielle," I replied in a hoarse voice. My throat was parched. I was thirsty.

Those damn jerks in the truck earlier didn't give me water when I asked. When did I suffer such a grievance?!

"Arielle, right? I'm Clara, the head maid. Clean yourself first and wear this maid outfit. Find me after you're done and get your daily task." Clara said, and I quickly nodded.

I immediately cleaned myself thoroughly, and I felt refreshed as the water ran through my body.

When I finished, I wore the maid outfit and looked at myself in the mirror. Hmm, not bad!

I look cute in this maid outfit.

The moment I stepped out of the bathroom, maidservants surrounded me and asked questions. I answered them all patiently since I was new and I didn't want to be on their bad side on my first day.

They also share some information about the pack. Who to serve and couldn’t neglect.

The Alpha of this pack is Roland Golden. He is the most powerful alpha in the entire empire, next to the Emperor. They were rivals after all.

The Alpha has two sons, Robin, the future alpha, and Rowan.

As of now, the two were not in the territory. They were staying at the Elites Academy in the capital.

Among the two, Robin is the most ruthless and powerful. The maids said that we couldn't neglect his orders or we would be punished severely.

Robin has a fiance named Ericka and as a new slave, I should be careful around her, they say. Because Ericka has a weird personality.

Suddenly, someone cleared their throats, and Clara was glaring daggers at us. The maidservants' faces turned pale and immediately scrambled away like a frightened little mouse being chased by a wildcat.

Clara looked at me sternly, scrutinized my outfit, and silently approved. I guess?

Hmph! I'm cute, yeah!

"Follow me," she said coldly and turned her back.

"Yes, Ms. Clara," I said and followed.

When I first arrived, I hadn't had the time to examine the place.

The territory is so huge like a town. There were many palaces inside and a majestic palace stood not far away.

I thought we were going there but Clara took another path and led me to another palace.

Who lives here? I wonder.

After five minutes, we stopped in front of a room and Clara knocked two times. "Miss Ericka, this is Clara. May I come in?"

Miss Ericka? The fiance of Robin?

Don't tell me... my task today is her?! Damn it.

"You may come in." a crisp voice said and Clara immediately opened the door and we got in.

A beautiful girl was sitting leisurely at a coffee table while drinking tea and reading a book.

She looks up and meets my gaze. She raised an eyebrow and said, "Is she my new attendant?"

Ericka's look is not bad. She's quite pretty. The way she brought herself screams confident and very elegant.

She had blonde hair and green eyes. At first glance, she looked regal but when I stared closely; she seemed trying hard to look like one.

Is this another pretentious girl I met twice today?

She's just like the Tanya girl who received me earlier.

"Yes, Miss Ericka. This is Arielle, she'll be at your command from now on."

Ericka stood up and scrutinized me from head to toe. "Interesting. You are the first slave who wasn't intimidated by my presence. Well, it must've been because of your origin. Tanya is right. You are quite useful." She said while smirking.

I frowned. Why are they always saying that I'm useful? For what exactly?

Useful this, useful that... whatever!

I bowed and said, "Miss Ericka, from now on, I'm at your service."

She nodded and turned to Clara.

"Ok. You can go now, Clara."

"Yes, Miss Ericka. If you need something that Arielle couldn't do, just call me anytime."

Ericka nodded, and Clara immediately went out, leaving me behind with this weird and pretentious girl.

Ericka ignored me and turned around toward the window.

Looking at her back, she looks lonely for some reason.

"Arielle, tell me, how do you awaken your inner wolf despite being a commoner? And a strong one at that." Ericka suddenly said and tilted her head to look at me.

I was stunned. She could tell?

"You are the same age as me and you should've just shifted recently like me. But you have such a powerful presence like Robin. Or perhaps it has to do with your... ah never mind." She added as she squinted her eyes.

I remained silent. What is she trying to say in her last sentence?

She sounds suspicious. I think this is the first time we meet each other but why do I sense she knows something about me I'm not even aware of?

What was it?

Origin? What's my origin? Aren't I only a commoner?

Is there some truth about me that my parents hide from me?

"Tell me, who really are you?" she continued probing.

I blinked my eyes and stared at Ericka in confusion. "I don't know what you mean, Miss Ericka. You keep telling me I'm useful but how useful am I exactly?"

She stared at me longer and then furrowed her eyebrows. "Don't you know how useful you can be? Doesn't your parents tell you?"

"Huh?" I was puzzled.

My parents knew I was useful. If so, why didn't they send me to school and just keep me inside the house like I'm a prisoner? I couldn't even go out without permission.

If I hadn't sneaked out before, I wouldn't even meet Mr. Morris and have him teach me what a girl like me should know.

Suddenly, Mr. Morris' words echoed in my mind, "Ari, be wary of others. You are very special and some werewolves can sense it. They may use you if they see you. So as much as possible don't show how capable you are and pretend to be dumb."

Thinking about it, I believe the old man now. However, the old man didn't tell me what was special about me either. He just said that I should find out about it on my own.

Ericka shook her head. "You poor thing."

She sat back on her seat and beckoned me to pour her tea. I quickly pour some tea into her teacup.

There was silence for a while and I was getting bored.

Shouldn't she be ordering me now?

Wasn't I useful? Why doesn't she order me something?

I rather have her giving me some errands than doing nothing here like a statue.

I waited for another minute but the longer the silence between us made me baffled.

Sigh...

If only I could read a book as well.

Ericka was just staring at the space, lost in her thoughts or something. Who knows what she's thinking?

Ah, I can’t take this anymore!

I cleared my throat and asked, "Hm, milady, don't you have something for me to do?"

She turned to me fiercely, and her face seemed scary.

"Actually, there is..."

The next moment, she splashed hot liquid on my face, and I gasped in surprise. I wasn't expecting that move.

Good thing it’s not that hot anymore since the tea was just sitting there for a while now.

Ericka looked at me coldly. "I hate when people disturb my peace of silence. Just stay there and wait for my command."

My lips twitched but I couldn't protest even if I was very displeased. I could only squat on the floor indifferently while wiping my wet face.

Now, I smell like tea.

I scanned Ericka's room and was surprised at how elegant the room was and this style suited her temperament the most.

This is the vast difference between the wealthy and the commoner.

However, this luxurious way of living is nothing to me. I can sleep everywhere as long as it's clean enough.

What I really want is to go to school and meet other people.

"My fiance will arrive tomorrow. Go out and prepare my dress. Make sure the dress looks good on me or else..." Ericka suddenly uttered that surprised me a little.

Finally, some tasks!

"I get it, milady. I'm going now." I quickly said and I may quite sound eager.

Well, it's better to have something to do than stare into the void like something is interesting inside it.

Ericka was really weird. It's not that I care...

She can be weird all she wants!

"And you better behave tomorrow and don't have any funny ideas about my fiance or I'll dig your eyeballs out of their sockets!" she warned, and I frantically nodded.

What the eff?!

Her attitude changes faster than changing socks!

I finally breathed a sigh of relief when I went out of Ericka's room.

For some reason, Ericka's room is suffocating. How can she stay there doing nothing at all?

"Hah, finally some fresh air..." I murmured.

I feel like I just came out from a witch's house.

That reminds me... Ericka is quite familiar. Like I have seen her somewhere before but where?

Ah, forget it. I can't recall.

When we arrived at the main palace, there were many people there waiting as well. They are the members of the pack. However, I didn't see the Alpha around. Meanwhile, some maidservants were pouring these people tea on their teacups. The pack members greeted Ericka enthusiastically like she was already the lady of the house. And Ericka greeted back cordially but her composure remained elegant. I saw Tanya as well and she stood up to greet Ericka. Then they indulged in conversation while I just stood there like a statue doing nothing like the other maidservants. My ears perked up when they mentioned the future Alpha, Robin. So I listen carefully. "I heard Young Master Robin received an award this year!" "Yes! He is a genius!" "Our future Alpha is great!" "Of course, he is our pack's treasure!" Hearing their praises aloud, I couldn't help but wonder if what they said was true. For some reason, I am looking forward to meeting the great future Alpha. The pack members continued

Rowan smirked and said, "Okay. But call me Rowan first." My eyes widened. "What?! How could I? A slave like me doesn't dare to be casual to its master!" I quickly reacted. Is Rowan planning to send me to my early death?! I would be punished if I called his name in public! He pouted and mumbled, "Fine. I will spread rumors about you and Robin then..." "No! Don't!" I yelled in panic. He snorted and was about to turn around but I held his arms and said reluctantly, "Fine. I'll call you Rowan! But can I only call you that when we're alone?" "Arielle!" She greeted me with a worried expression, but she froze while looking at my forehead. "Oh, you cut your hair!" "Hm, yeah..." I mumbled awkwardly. I remember her calling earlier when I ran outside, but I didn't look back at her as I focused on my pain. "What happened earlier?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowed. "Hm, it's nothing. I just felt uncomfortable all over my body. And I had to transform... you know." I responded. "Oh! Is it mating season now?! Are you in heat?" she gasped and scrutinized my body. I blushed when I heard that. I couldn't help but shudder at the thought of Robin's heat radiating on me earlier in the forest. What's more astonishing was how my body reacted. Come to think of it, it's near mating season. And I'll suffer again for an entire month! "I... I'm not!

Rowan stood up, dusted his clothes, and offered his hand to me. I looked up and saw him smiling. I took his hand as he pulled me up. "Where are we off to?" I protested and pulled my hand away. "Do you want to take back your mate or not?" Sigh... Oh, Rowan. I was not even sure myself. The only connection I have with Robin is our bond and nothing else. Rowan pulled my hand, and we walked into the maze garden. Now, it would be troublesome if Robin and Ericka saw us together... Ericka might get the wrong idea. But who cares what she thinks, anyway? Well, let's do this. Perhaps I should take my mate back like what Rowan said. But it was easier said than done because Robin was glaring daggers at me right now like he wanted nothing but to tear me apart. We meet Robin and Ericka halfway through. "Rowa

We were hiding like we did something illegal. Is being your mate illegal?" I said in an aggrieved tone. I feel... wronged, and it's like a bitter pill to swallow. Robin stared at me in silence. His jaw clenched as if he was having inner turmoil. His expression slightly changed, but he quickly masked it with iciness. This is the Robin I knew from the rumors... a cold-blooded person. I jumped off the horse and rubbed Astrid's face with a smile. Astrid seems to enjoy my touch. "Thank you for bringing me here, Astrid. It was such a fantastic view up here." I sat on the grass with a carefree movement while looking at the field of beautiful flowers. To my surprise, Astrid lay down beside me. Astrid was looking at me as if telling me to lean into her. I feel strange how I could seem to understand the horse. I shook off the thought and leaned my back on Astrid. She seemed satisfied with my action. [Arielle’s POV] My eyes shone while looking at the treasures that the Seven-Headed Hydra surrendered. There were all kinds of treasures—spiritual fruits, weapons, essence crystals, magic crystal balls, refining materials, gold, and gems. Most of the treasures were shiny and glittering. Well, it’s true that all creatures like shiny things the most—especially dragons. That includes me, of course! Who doesn’t like shiny things? I wonder if this seven-headed hydra robbed some people to get these things. As far as I can tell, all these weapons belong to the dark mage. Dark mages like to use scepters, after all. These collections of scepters all have magic crystal balls on top and all of them were of high quality. “Can I go now, Your Highness?” the seven-headed hydra asked in tenterhooks. Efrain only glared at it, and the poor thing kept trembling in fear. I chuckled in amusement. “Very well. Since you’re giving us all your treasures, we’ll spare you this time,” I said as I shrugged

It was as though a powerful boss was commanding these monsters. In fact, there were forbidden places in the underground world where strong monsters lay. They didn’t dare step out of their lair for fear that the behemoth would attack them. That’s why these strong monsters tacitly agreed to control the monsters weaker than them to attack the cities every hundred years. And that behemoth they feared was Efrain. From time to time, Efrain would let half of his body out of the independent space to check the underground world to pass the time. And that’s how he became the boss of the underground world that everybody fears.Today, these strong monsters sensed that the vortex, where Efrain used to be, had disappeared out
