We make our way downtown. To my old stomping grounds. I know this city better than anyone. When we get to the first store I want, I stop the car on the side of the street.

"Where exactly are we?" Jax says. I can feel his discomfort. I can tell he's never been to this side of town. Which is perfect, because it will make my plan that much easier to execute.

"Oh, I just felt a bit thirsty, so wanted to grab a drink first. Do you want anything?" I ask.

"No, it's ok, just don't take too long."

"I can't guarantee anything. This coffee shop is quite popular, and they typically have long lines. But I'll do what I can."

I offer a small smile, before exiting the car, in the direction of the coffee shop.

As I round the corner, I make a beeline for the Jewelry store next to the coffee shop. I run in, knowing exactly what I want.

The door bell chimes as I enter. A rough looking burly man approaches the counter.

"Can I help you?"

...Jax POV...When I caught Lexi trying to leave earlier, I knew something was up. Ever since Ryker was taken, she's become a shell of herself. She hasn't even rested or ate anything ever since her and Xavier returned from wherever they were captured. The only time she's rested is when she's passed out. Either from a panic attack, or from stress.I was nervous about her going out by herself, but I know that the boss would be happy knowing that she's attempting to have some sort of normalcy. I figured that if I went with her, then I could at least make sure that nothing happened to her. And well me. Xavier would kill me in a heartbeat if something ever happened to her, and I could've stopped it. So I 'un'willingly decided to let her go wherever it was she wanted to go.When Lexi said she wanted to go out, this was the last place that I expected to be. Out front of a lingerie shop, as she buys something 'special' for Xavier. For some reason I feel

I wake up, my head spinning. I feel slightly nauseous. I close my eyes, trying to stabilize myself. I focus on my breathing, and then the feeling around me. I must be chained, I open my eyes looking around. As I figured, I'm chained to a chair, my arms handcuffed behind me. My ankles strapped to the chair.Expecting to see Craig when I gained consciousness, I was surprised to be face to face with someone else. My face contorts as I look at him. He looks so similar to Craig, however his features are much more defined. I blink again when I see him. Unable to not see Craig standing before me. The man causally pulls out a small blade from his pocket, twisting it between his fingers. Hearing me stir, he glances up at me, as he continues to spin the knife.Standing at an intimidating 6'4". Towering above my small 5'4" frame. Tattoos travelling down his arms, forming a large dragon. His scarred face, and cold demeanour would normally be considered frightening, but I onl

"What?""Every family you stayed with, were members of the Dragons. However, all those before Craig, were too gentle. You needed more of a firm hand. You constantly found ways to escape, and that could not be tolerated. We needed you with us." Drago says, with an annoyed expression on his face."What about my social worker?""She was also a dragon. We would feed her whatever line we needed to, to make sure you would stay within our grasp. We had her take you away from your brother before he had a chance to ruin our plans. So when the doctors took you away for 'tests' it was actually our plan in motion to get you away from the hospital. We even had one of our doctors watch over Ryker. So when he found out you were missing, our doctor informed him that you had been taken into social services, and it would be for the best. Did you never question why Ryker was never taken into social services?" Craig asks."I always assumed he was. I figured if he wasn'

I wake suddenly, not knowing how long I've been passed out for. I feel a sting in my leg, and realize that they must've injected me with something."What did you do to me?" I ask."Just gave you a quick dose of adrenaline. We need you awake for the next part.""What do you want? I don't know anything about this stupid list, nor the existence of a so called 'key'. There's nothing that you can do that can get me to tell you something I don't know."Drago walks over to me, grabbing my chin forcing me to look up at him."That may or may not be true. However, after some enlightening conversations with Mr Bradshaw, we in fact know that there's quite a lot of stuff tucked away in this pretty little head of yours. I merely just want what's in your head. Once you give me that, you're free to go."I spit at him."Like hell you'll let me go. I've known people like you all my life. I say stunned. When I open my eyes, I turn to see Xavier exiting the closet as he finishes getting ready for work. I sit up, trying to get my bearings."What's going on?" I ask.I watch as Xavier turns to face me, taking slow strides in my direction."What do you mean what's going on?" He inquires.I try to figure out what's going on, but it's like my mind is blank. I have no recollection of anything that's happened. Something feels wrong, but I have no idea what. I shake my head, as if ridding my mind of the dark thoughts. I turn to face him, and smile."Nothing. It must've just been a bad dream. Where are you off to?" I ask."Well it must've been some dream, because we're going to be late if we don't leave in the next ten minutes

I feel the sun warming me up as I begin to wake up. I turn over to see Xavier resting next to me. I smile as I watch him sleep peacefully. I reach upwards, and place a gentle kiss on his cheek. I lower myself back on the bed to rest my head along his smooth chest. I relax as I listen to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. A few moments later, I head to our closet to get changed. Just as I'm leaving the closet, I feel firm hands wrap around my waist. I smile as Xavier twists me around so that I'm looking up at him. He places a passionate kiss on my lips, taking my breath away."Almost ready to go?" He asks, pulling away from me slightly."Yes. I'll be ready to leave in ten minutes. I just want to grab a quick breakfast first."Xavier simply nods, as he heads into the closet to get changed. After I've had my breakfast, I make my way to Xavier's waiting car. We head out onto the highway on our way to the office. We separate our ways as Xavier heads to his office, a

...Xavier POV...It's been just over two weeks since I last saw Lexi. My heart crumbles just at the thought. I haven't been able to concentrate on anything since she left. I'm mainly upset with myself. I should've seen this coming. Lexi has, and always will be a caring person. She puts the world first before herself. She has always been selfless like that. I should've been there for her. If I was with her, this never would've happened. But I was selfish and went to work that day instead. Knowing all too well the state that she was in.Jax continues to blame himself for what happened. But Lexi was smart, much smarter than anyone thought. She always seems so innocent, so the last thing we would ever expect, is for her to be so cunningly brilliant. The way she escaped Jax's watch actually made me quite proud. Planning something like that, would normally take weeks of careful calculation. But Lexi achieved her plan in mere seconds. From what I

A few hours later, I am holding our handsome son in my arms. I feel content as I look into his eyes. I smile as I see my green eyes stare back at me. With Ryker in England, that meant that Xavier no longer had a second in command. A role which needed to be filled as soon as possible, however not just anyone would be eligible for the role. Which is why I talked to Xavier about it."I know who we should make your second in command." I say as I sit on his lap in his office.Ever since I've been released from the hospital, Xavier has all his things from the office transferred to the house. He does everything remotely, as he doesn't want to leave my side. He spends nearly every second of the day with me. At first, I thought it would be overwhelming, or that he would grow tired of me. However, from the amount of time we have missed being together, I couldn't think of any better way to make up for the lost time. Admittedly, he doesn't always get work done, however, I try to help him, to make up for our extracurricular activities.Xavier turns my head, to place a kiss on my forehead."I know as wel

True to her word, over the next few months, Sienna helped me gain control of the Dragons. As Jax had found out, the Serbs had no interest in their American counter parts. Rather it seems as though we did them a favour by eliminating Craig and his brothers. Shortly after I took control of the Dragons, Vlado, the leader of the Serbian Mafia reached out to us. He wanted to thank us for eliminating his troublesome family members, and offered us anything we want in return. We thought about it for awhile, when only when thing came to mind. We wanted peace. The best way to achieve that, was if we formed an alliance. This alliance would unite the Scorpions, Dragons, Serbs, along with the Knights. We would now be the most powerful organizations in the world. We had so many allies, that no one would ever dare to go against us.With Sienna and Xavier's help, I was able to transform the Dragons into an entirely new organization. The Dragons now closely resembled the Scorpions, how

That I'll continue to have to look over my shoulder in fear. Instinctively, I run my hand over my stomach, as my thought now goes to my unborn child. Will they have to live a life like me? Will their lives always be in peril? The thought alone makes my body shiver. I feel my blood run cold, just at the thought. As if sensing my nervousness, Xavier is quick to respond. • Rising From the Ashes   159. Retribution

...Lexi POV...I was discharged from the hospital a few days later. Under supervision of Dr Lawson of course. Even though I had been discharged, Xavier didn't allow me to do anything myself. Rather he had become like my personal slave. If I needed to go to the bathroom, he would take me. If I wanted to g outside, he would carry me there. He cooked anything I wanted to eat. Which I can't complain, because he's an amazing chef.Even though I found the attention to be overwhelming at times, I didn't say anything. I still don't remember everything that happened, but I knew from the way he was acting, that he was afraid that he could lose me at any moment. While he had become good at hiding his true feelings, he could never fully hide them from me. Whatever happened, must've scared him shitless. From what I do know about what happened, I can only agree that his reaction is justified. I would be acting similarly, if not the same if our roles were reversed.

Nurses began to run out of the room in a panic. My men followed behind me as we entered Lexi's room. My eyes went wide as I saw one of the Doctors pinned to the ground, as Lexi held onto a needle, threatening to inject the doctor beneath her."What the hell is going on?" I shout. My men seem just as confused as me. It's as thought they have no idea what to do next. They know they can't shoot her, but they also know that if they were to injure her in any way, that they would pay with their lives. So instead, they stand placid, unsure as to how to move forward."We don't know what happened. We believe that she's trying to defend herself, but she doesn't seem to realize that we're just trying to help her." One of the nurses informs me.Instantly, I begin to understand. I've seen her do this once before. She's unconsciously defending herself. Her mind must be blending her nightmares with reality. Defending itself in the only way it knows how. By attacking. As

With Dr Lawson's help, Ryker will be staying at my place for the next couple of months. He'll be monitored the entire time, to ensure nothing bad happens. But it also allows him a sense of freedom and normalcy. Ryker and I are very similar. We both need to feel as though we are accomplishing something. Not doing anything, just makes us more irritable. That alone is one of the many reasons as to why I have an at home clinic. Dr Lawson always said that I'm one of her worst patients. As I always go against her wishes.Matteo and Catherine helped with Ryker's transition to my house. In the meantime Catherine and Matteo are also staying at my house.
