Even Cruz was gob smacked on seeing this; he did not know what to say, he was speechless as he opened his mouth wide while staring around foolishly.
The street was truly a shocking sight. Despite this much increase in technology utilization, the road of the street was so backward that it had potholes.
It was apparent that the appearance of this kind of car in this place broke the normal equilibrium. Kalen was sure that 100% of the people they passed stared at the car with greed, envy or jealousy.
“Man…, I think we should park the car in a better place before coming back on foot.” He gulped, as he turned to give this suggestion to Aledos. His original enthusiasm for coming here was already gone; he felt like someone poured cold water all over.
Crus seconded the suggestion without any hesitation and even added that they should just go and not come back. Unlike Kalen, he felt deceived, it felt like a wife learning that she was cheated on.
Aledos
Cruz cheered excitedly with the other spectators, as Aledos scores his 4th goal. The feeling of happiness was palpable in the atmosphere, as sincere expressions of joy appeared on all the spectator’s faces. Making use of this short opportunity of distraction, the strange man in black finally acted. His grasp of timing was immaculate, as he pretended to cheer while bumping into Cruz as he was sitting down. Cruz was seating at the very top row of the arena seats, and some other spectators also sat below him. He was thrown off guard from the sudden push as he directly fell, but as a high-grade warrior, he reflexively balanced himself by doing a backflip in mid-air. Boom!! He landed with a loud sound, in a row below a group of girls. The girls were startled, as they all jumped in fright and shock at the sight of someone suddenly flying over them to land in front of them. “I’m so sorry ladies. I hope y’all are alright.” He quickly apologized, before he tur
Ahh!! Kalen groaned again in pain; dark red blood escaped out of his mouth as he received another cut to his leg, making his already pitiful situation more desperate. He narrowly avoided losing his legs to opponent’s fast cuts by jumping backward in time, but his situation was not looking good. He was already bleeding all over, as his battle with the commander continued to rage on in the narrow alley. After a lot of analysis and physical effort, he succeeded in directing the fight here, after suffering so much damage from the hidden shooter. Despite the deadly situation he was in, his brain was still functioning at maximum output. Aledos and Cruz tried helping him on various occasions but to no avail, as the 2 soldiers clung to them, fighting like their lives depended on stalling them both. Their spirit was willing to help their friend, but the flesh is weak. The frustration and anger at seeing their friend get so battered and bloodied were palpable.
Aledos and Cruz woke up the next day to find Kalen still asleep. They quickly washed up before ordering food from a nearby restaurant, for Kalen and them. They didn’t have much to do, so after eating, they just sat on the chair that was provided in the room as they discussed their encounters from yesterday in a low tone. Around 10am, that same day, Kalen finally woke up to the feeling of bandages all over his abdomen and other parts of his body. A small frown crept on his face when he also felt the drip syringe attached to wrist as he slowly sat up. Aledos and Cruz didn’t realize that the person they were watching was already awake, continued their lengthy conversation. Despite the frown on his face, Kalen realized that the pain was already gone, as he finally called out to his 2 blabbering companions. “Oh, Kalen you’re already awake. That’s fast.” Aledos blurted out, surprised at seeing this as he rushed forward to give his friend a l
The next day, Kalen and his bros woke up feeling refreshed. They officially reported for duty today, as high-grade warriors they were sent to different military checkpoints. Kalen was sent to a military checkpoint in a small town in east Crescent. He was assigned as the overall leader of the knights in this checkpoint. He felt kind of weird as he became the leader of knights some of which were old enough to be his father or mother age. Despite the feeling that way, Kalen performed his duties to the best of his ability as he made sure that all the knights were performing their duties by thoroughly inspecting all the vehicles passing through the checkpoint. He didn’t bring his car as they provided military vehicles to use, he didn’t want to feel and behave too special on his first day at work. Most of the time he didn’t have anything to do, so he just studied his divine battle art while simulation it inwardly through his implant. He studied and practiced throug
Kalen always dread and anticipated the day that he would kill his first Gaul soldier. He hated them to the core, so he would never hesitate if the opportunity to kill one was presented to him. The appearance of this soldier lit a burning flame that was carefully concealed in his heart. At this moment, the flame already burst forth like dam releasing a river of water, and it could not be remedied again. He acted very fast, as he quickly whispered to his Lawgiver 2 -form gun to take on its machine gun configuration. His gun diligently obeyed, as it quickly rearranged its configuration. Despite his opponent was a high-grade warrior, Kalen vowed that he would eliminate this soldier. The Gaul soldier saw him coming but ignored him as he did a sideways slash with his sword, easily killing another knight from the squad. To him, these knights were just cannon fodder, so he didn’t care one bit. This action succeeded in angering Kalen further, as
The Gaul soldier finally ducked, weaved and expertly dived into one of the cars, as he yelled at the driver to move immediately. He looked back, and not seeing anybody, he grinned as he felt the excited that he got an exotic sword in this encounter. “It some more experience young buck. There is no way you’ll be able to stop me. It will take you many years to match my battle experience.” He muttered with a cruel smile on his face, as he marked this Camelot knight and this checkpoint as a no-go zone. No matter how much he tried to elevate his ego, it did not change the that he ran pathetically. He was not coming back here, no matter what happened. As his thought drifted about, he finally relaxed as he tried to calm his rapidly beating heart and his blood circulation. Unfortunately, he could not enjoy this luxury. He was startled, as he suddenly started hearing screams all around him. Tu!! Tu!! Tu!! Boom!! Boom!! Gunshots sounds suddenly erupted, f
Of the loot that gained, he surprisingly discovered a well-packaged bunch of exotic explosives among them, which excited him to no end. “My luck is simply out of this world for even getting such much stuff from a random 1st rank high-grade warrior.: He muttered excitedly while rubbing his hands together like a gambler who just hit the jackpot. As excitement bubbled, he also thanked his lucky stars that Gaul soldier refused to use these gadgets of mass destruction. If such a cheat was used in the previous battle, even if he survived, he would have been seriously injured. “The man probably thought he could escape without using them. He was probably sent on a crucial mission, that was why he could carry such expensive gadgets around.” He thought in a serious note, as he carefully kept his new goodies. Knowledge was why the scholars said that no battle was a waste to any soldier. Through this small-scale battle that he fought; he just learned a new lesson
“Hello, this is the Tiger military division headquarters speaking.” A calm but slightly monotonous voice finally broke the silence, after the call went through. “Yes, this Knight Sergeant Kalen. Please, connect me to the Knight Captain immediately, this is an urgent matter.” Kalen quickly replied, before patiently waiting for feedback. Roger sir. I’m sorry for the slight delay, I confirmed that line is secure. Please wait for a moment, I’ll get back to you shortly.” Silence reigned on the line, but Kalen kept quiet as he patiently waited. After a short while, the call finally connected to the destination that he wanted." "Bzzz!! This is Knight Captain Gale speaking. Kalen what is the urgent situation that you are talking about?” The deep voice of the Knight Captain finally echoed out, breaking the grave like silence. “Good morning, Knight Captain. I am currently in front of Dick Johnson’s company right now. I already secured the company,
After a week of waiting, the award-giving day finally arrived. It was a Monday, and the whole gladiator district was riled up for this day. The spectators could finally see their best gladiators get their awards in the arena. Today, the Neo-Rome team members were going to get the award for their labor of 3 years. After years of only wearing armor and light clothing as gladiators, they were finally going to dress corporately again. Kalen froze in place with a smile on his face, as he stared at his fresh look while dressed in a suit. After so long he finally cut his beard yesterday. It felt funny to him; he already entered the vicious men’s circle of cutting your beard to avoid it looking wild. He was not even sure if Nami would recognize him again if she saw him with a beard. Despite already cutting the beards, the slight sings to indicate that he was a man with beards were still left there. He carefully admired his electric blue suit, as his smile slowly morphed into a grin. Pair
As usual, medical practitioners on white quickly rushed into the arena with a floating stretcher. They brought cleaning bots with them this time, as the blood and gore were quickly sucked and cleaned throughout the arena. Kalen’s unconscious body was carefully placed on the stretcher, as it directly floated back to the medical bay. As the medical practitioners worked, the commentator finally started his ending speech with a smile. “Ladies and gentlemen, my fellow Sea Angels, we now finally have a winner for this gladiator tournament. After these countless difficulties, we finally arrived at our destination.” “The winner of the gladiator tournament this time is the Lone Dragon, he proved his strength today in this arena.” “I won’t waste your time much, I just want to inform you that according to the organizers; if everything goes according to plan, the award-giving ceremony will be held within the week.” “Let’s all come back for this final event, to establish our winner’s status
As the atmosphere grew tenser, gulps left throats unconsciously, and speculations rose higher, the gladiators finally moved. Kalen moved first. As soon as he gathered some strength, he used his spear as a support to lift himself off his opponent’s sword. Spurt!! He closed his eyes while gritting his teeth in pain. More blood flowed out of him, as the sword was roughly yanked out of him. His opponent also flinched in pain, as the spear stirred in his abdomen. Thud!! He dropped down to the ground, as he quickly summoned more strength to roll further away from his opponent. He already grew accustomed to pain after so many years of being a knight. He could not directly say that he liked pain, but at least he could bear a lot of pain. Despite this being the case, the pain that he was currently feeling drove deeper into his inner self. He felt like his body was no longer his own, he felt like his body was just a cage where he was receiving torture. He could not help it, as tears flow
The huge energy that was covering the arena slowly opened, as the 2 strongest gladiators entered without hesitation. World Destroyer slowly took off his helmet, as he faced his opponent with a curious smile on his face. Unlike his opponent’s solemn expression, his was complete opposite, he had a calm look on his face. “Magician, you surprised me yet again. I didn’t think you would have the guts to fight me again. Last time we fought, you did put up with great fight, but you know I am going to kill you. I promise you will regret your decision of walking into this arena.” He slowly said with a smile. Kalen didn’t reply, as his blood was already feeling hot for this fight. He had no time nor luxury to reply to foolish questions. He didn’t come here to discuss, at least he didn’t have that luxury like his opponent. He had an uphill and almost impossible target to overcome, he was ready to put his all. “Enough bullshit! You will know soon enough which one of us is the best. Now, let’s
Today was the day, that will determine who the strongest gladiator from this tournament. Today was the day that justify all the bloodshed and deaths throughout the past year, in the gladiator arena. Kalen entered the gladiator armory in a solemn mood, as he went forward to where the weapons were kept. On seeing the empty, grey-colored cold chamber, he could not help but feel a sense of emptiness. For weeks now, he had been training to get the required level to win this fight. He did not know why he was anticipating it, but he felt that he would benefit a lot if he emerged as the winner of this fight. Though his thoughts were numerous, they quickly cleared up as he advanced to the spear section of the armory. He stood before the large row of spears, before falling into a daze. Spears spread for as far as his eyes could see. From short spears to long spears, to broad, to thin spears, every type of spear was available. His hands extended forward, as he firmly grabbed the long spea
The days moved forward just like chess pieces that were being randomly shifted by a chess player. After months of preparations fights, the date for the individual tournament finals has been finally scheduled. After the end of the team tournament, the gladiators on the teams who won were already eligible to take their awards. Despite this, they don’t get them immediately, as the Sea Angels Alliance extended the award ceremony to the week after the end of the individual fight fights. ********************************************************** Bam!! Kalen’s spear stabbed forward in quick succession, as his opponent hastily raised his spear to parry the strike. His hand blurred, as the stab was quickly converted into a sideways slash. Kane narrowly blocked the strike again, but the force exerted by his vice-captain still pushed him back. As Kalen rushed forward to finish him off, Kane’s teammates finally recovered as he quickly slashed his sword forward in retaliation. Whoosh!! Dere

The large fleet of vehicles slowly coming into the compound surprised the now freed gladiators, but they suppressed their curiosity and went forward to meet the General. “Good evening, General.” They all greeted respectfully. “Haha, that’s my soldiers.” The General responded with a loud laugh that was unusual for someone of his status, as he went forward to pat them on the shoulders. “Congrats, y’all didn’t disappoint my expectations. Though it is shame we couldn’t get the 1st place position but taking the 3rd place position is already commendable. “My Captain already told you, sometimes ago that we would not shy in terms of rewards if you won the tournament of you ranks, we intend to keep our word.” “Now, taking 3rd place can be seen as you winning to us, so today, I’ll present the awards that we prepared for everyone.” The Neo-Rome Captain finally came forward and placed an exotic metal box before his General. He opened the box quick
Nami dd not have much to arrange, she just came back to get some of the essential things that she could not leave behind. As she arranged, her mind could not help but drift again to a frail-looking imagination of her mom. At this age where medical technology already advanced so enormously, her being called for indicated how serious her mom’s situation was. There was no way it was a normal illness, which only made her more anxious. “What is so serious that I had to be called for?” She questioned herself again doubtfully. It didn’t take too long before she was finally ready, as she turned around to go. She changed from her old suit into a new suit that she got recently, to present herself in a fresh outlook. Not long after, she finally arrived back at the parade grounds. She was not surprised to still see the summoned horde of knights all standing at their positions in attention. There was no way these guys would leave their positions until orde
