“What's up, Jenna? Have you heard from Henry?”

Jenna hated feeling like the bearer of bad news when she saw the agony in Adam's voice.

“Anna's father found her and asked me to let you know.”

“He's bringing her back to me?”

“She didn't want to come back. I'm sorry Adam, but she's going with her father to Scotland.”

“Where did he find her?”

“She was in England.”

“Did she have a lover there?”

“I find that difficult, Adam. She was living in a poor hotel and feeding on broth.”

“Where did her father warn you about?”

Jenna turned red, but she couldn't tell him that she had known where Anna was for a week, even if she hadn't been found by Henry yet, but she would give Adam the chance to convince Anna. She missed him too and knew that he needed her like roses needed the sun.”
