Cora's POV. Each day I spent in Kieran's house felt like a day in hell. Kieran didn't try to hide his feelings for me. He made it painfully obvious, especially when he invited Lyra to the house. Lyra was everything that I wasn't. Lyra was very beautiful. She was very confident also and was adored by the pack members. She was the pack warrior's daughter and she had no problem flaunting her closeness to Kieran in front of me. Every time she was around, she usually flung herself on him, using every chance she got, laughing at his jokes and whispering things that I couldn't hear. What about Kieran? He always encouraged her. He would smirk every time he caught me watching. He enjoyed seeing me hurt. One night, while I was feeling tasty, and heading towards the kitchen, I heard voices coming from his room. "You really think this will work?" A female voice asked. A voice I could immediately recognize as Lyra's. My heart sank. I tiptoed closer to the room, and pressed my ears to the door. "It doesn't matter if it does work or not cause I'll never acknowledge her as my mate. She's nothing but a mistake." Lyra chuckled mockingly, "She actually thinks marrying you would make your family and hers reconcile. She must be daydreaming." Kieran scoffed, "This is just the beginning of her misery cause I'll make her life so miserable that she will cry for her freedom. I'll make life so traumatic for her." He said and Lyra chuckled evilly. --- One fateful day, it was very late when Kieran stumbled into the house. The smell of alcohol hit me even before I could see him. He slammed the front door heavily while he strode towards me. I was in the living room, sitting on the cushion waiting for him. My heart raced as he reached closer to me. "Kieran?" I called him. He raised an eyebrow. His eyes were bloodshot. It was filled with so much anger. "Are you okay?" I asked him, concerned. He scoffed, "Are you asking if I'm okay? Do I look okay to you, Cora? Huh?!" He yelled. "I... I just wanted to make sure—" I was saying, but he cut me off. "You've done enough, okay? You've ruined my life. Do you know that? My reputation, my future, all of them gone. Also because of you. You!" He yelled. "I didn't ruin anything," I said quietly. "I never wanted this either. But, you know, we could—" "We could what?" He yelled, "Be happy? Don't make a fool of yourself. I will never accept you as my mate." Before I could even respond, he grabbed my arm. His grip was so tight on me. "You are nothing but a burden to me, a stain in my life, a mistake that I regret ever making!" "Kieran, you are hurting me!" I cried, trying to pull my hands away from his grip, but he tightened it. His anger exploded. And in a blink of an eye, he pushed me hard against the wall. "Ouch!" I cried falling with a thud on the ground. Pain filled my entire body. And I let out a cry. "Kieran..." I gasped, my voice was weak. I was filled with so much pain. "Please, help me. The baby..." I cried, holding my stomach tightly. "Kieran! Kieran!" I called, holding my stomach. Tears filled my eyes. I was in so much pain. "Kieran!" I yelled again but Kieran didn't answer me. I laid on the floor. My body was filled with intense pain. My vision was blurry. Then suddenly, I felt something sticky and wet between my legs. It was blood. Tears filled my eyes and fear gripped me. "No. No, please. Please, this can't be happening. Please. I begged." I cried, holding my stomach tightly, as if not ready to let go because I could feel it. I was slowly losing my baby. "Kieran, please help!" I cried, as darkness over took me. --- When I woke up, the room was very quiet. And my body ached all over. I found myself on the floor still with the blood stain all over my body. Kieran didn't come to help me. He didn't care. No one cared about me. It was at that moment, I knew that Kieran would never love me. He didn't even care about me or the baby. He just wanted us gone. But if he thought he could break me, he was totally wrong. I would leave. Yes, but one day I would return. Not as the broken girl he despised, but as the nightmare he never saw coming his way.

Chapter 6Cora's POV. "Well... well... well... who do we have here?" I froze. My breath caught in my throat as three figures came out from the forest.They were rogues. Oh no. Not again. Chapter 7Cora's POV.Where am I? I blinked, my heart was pounding frantically as memories of the previous night came rushing back to me. I could remember the rogues, the way they chased me, the way they attacked me. Fear immediately gripped and I sat up on the bed, panicking. I was clean. My wounds were cleaned, my body was free from dirt. And the blood that has stained me, the blood which was an evidence that I had miscarried my child was now... clean. Wait, even my dress was gone. I was wearing a white oversized T-shirt.Okay... this was scary...Someone had touched me. Someone had changed me. Who the heck was that? I shuddered. Was it one of those rogues... Or?Just then, I heard a deep, masculine voice. "Finally awake, little omega." I turned my head towards the sound, my heart beating frantically in my chest. Chapter 8Cora's POV The moment Kaden left, I could not breathe. His words still echoed in my mind. "Cora, I hope you get your revenge." Chapter 9 Cora's POV A loud knock was thrown at my door, dragging me out of my fragile sleep. I groaned, burying my face into the pillow. "Go away!" But the knocking did not stop. Chapter 12 Cora's POV It was late, still I couldn't sleep. My whole body was extremely tired, but somehow, my mind kept on drifting to a certain someone.
