"What did you two talk about?" asked Iwatani as they headed towards the parking space.

"Nothing, really," I replied.

His question reminded me of what happened earlier and my mind was once again filled with questions.

As he sat in the driver's seat, I faced him and asked, "Say, someone tells you that he doesn't want to be your friend anymore. What are you going to do?"

He furrowed his brows at my question. "What are you saying?"

"Just an example. What would you do if someone said that to you?"

He paused to think before answering, "Nothing."
