THIRD POV
“Mateo, please wait for me!”“Mateo!”“Huh?” He abruptly turned around upon hearing his name being called.Suddenly, he remembered that he was in a bar with his friends. He scanned the room, trying to regain his senses, which were tingling slightly.“We’ve been calling you for a while, but you seemed lost!”“Are you sure you’re okay?”He took a deep breath, nodded, and ran his hand through his hair. He was confused about what was happening. Earlier, he had also heard his ex-wife's voice. He didn’t understand what was going on, but he knew he had been dreaming about her for several nights. He couldn’t tell if it was just a vision or a memory.Even now, he regretted the mistakes he had made in the past. One single mistake had cost him his wife.If he were to ask for forgiveness from his wife, it would only be to atone for his sins.“Ana, I’m sorry,” he whispered.DON MARTIN was greeted by many business executives upon his arrival at the Royale. After many years, he was back in Royale.“Martin, it’s been a while!”When he spotted his two guests, he nodded at them and approached their table. Taking a seat in front of them, he was soon handed a glass of wine by one of his men.Levy Villalobos, the mayor of San Alfonso, and Caridad Villalobos, the First Lady.“It’s been a long time. And I realize it’s too late. But congratulations on becoming the new leader of San Alfonso,” Martin said with a smile.“Thank you very much for your help,” Caridad replied.Martin raised an eyebrow and studied the couple for a moment. “Of course,” he said. “We both share a desire to develop our town, don't we? We both want what’s best for our community.” He chuckled suddenly, surprising them. The couple exchanged glances and then joined in the laughter.“My late father left me all the properties of Monticello to grow and develop. He wanted to provide a bright future for our constituents. He also asked me to support you in the development of our town. It was his final request. We should work together,” Martin said, smiling at the couple. They grew serious for a moment, considering his words. But after a few moments, they smiled again.Despite being the mayor of San Alfonso, they couldn’t match the wealth and power of the Monticello family.“Cheers to the future of our town!” Martin raised his wineglass. The couple smiled and raised their glasses, toasting with him.“Mateo Villalobos made a deal with me,” Martin said. “Why didn’t he follow in your footsteps?”“He wanted to pursue his own business,” Levy replied.Martin nodded, grinning at them before looking around and motioning for his men to leave them alone. They immediately complied.“By the way, your former daughter-in-law passed away five years ago, didn’t she? What was her name again?” he changed the topic of conversation. The couple’s eyes widened at Martin’s words. They were surprised and didn't expect him to bring up such a sensitive topic. They looked at each other before turning their attention back to Don Martin, who awaited their response.“Um, Don Martin, that’s a personal question—”“Caridad,”“What?”“Enough.”Martin secretly smiled at the couple’s reaction.“I’m sorry! I didn’t mean to ask about that. But wouldn’t that have an impact on our town?” he inquired.“That case was closed a long time ago,” Levy replied. “My daughter-in-law died by suicide. I still don’t understand why she did it. They loved each other deeply, and their marriage was a happy one. I was shocked by the incident.”Martin’s face turned serious upon hearing this. He clenched his fist discreetly.“Master.”He turned to his staff member when called. The staff member approached him and whispered, “Miss Ana is missing.”“What?” he exclaimed in shock, immediately standing up upon learning that Ana was missing.“Martin?” Levy called out to him.He took a deep breath and looked at the couple without showing any emotion.“We’ll talk again another time, Don Levy. I have somewhere important to be,” he said, pivoting around and leaving Royale with his men.“Alexis, do you know where she is?” he asked his driver, who was busy monitoring the tracking device attached to Ana.“She’s at the villa, master.”He was shocked by this information. Damn! Ana, what are you planning? Are you trying to hurt yourself? He wondered silently.“Let’s go straight there.” he ordered his driver.ANA’s POV“We’re here, Ma’am.”Before stepping out of the car, I smiled at the driver and handed him his payment. “Thank you!” I said.As I got out of the taxi, a smile formed on my lips as I looked around. Oh, this place hasn't changed. This is where Mateo and I shared so many beautiful memories.I ran towards the tree and glanced at Mateo's house. I smiled again.“His house hasn’t changed,” I said with a smile. But my smile faded when I heard a car engine.I looked around until I spotted a familiar car. I smiled again. That’s Mateo's car. I know it because I chose it.When the car stopped in front of our house, I hid behind a tree. Then, I saw Mateo step out of the driver's seat.I took a deep breath and was about to call out to him, but I froze when I saw a woman emerge from the house. My forehead creased.Chloe? What is she doing in our house? Why are they together?“You’re drunk again, sweetheart!”Sweetheart? Why did Chloe call Mateo that?Suddenly, my eyes widened, and I gasped as I watched what happened next. I covered my mouth in shock. They kissed! What is happening? Why did they kiss?My knees gave way, and I leaned against the tree, tears streaming down my face. Was Martin right? Is it true that they're married?I shook my head, trying to convince myself that it wasn’t true. Please, Ana, wake up! This is just a dream. What I saw isn't real.I hugged myself as thunder rumbled overhead. It seemed like the rain wanted to match the pain and emotions I was feeling.“M-Mateo!” I sobbed, his name escaping my lips.“What does this mean? Are you really married to someone else? To Chloe? Why? Why did you do this? I'm your wife!” I cried. Why did he do this? Didn’t he search for me?I endured years of pain, hoping that there would be something to hold on to after all of this. But… What did I see? When I peered through the window to get another look, my heart shattered even more. Chloe was carrying a child, and they were laughing, like a happy family.I cried even harder. The pain in my heart was unbearable. So many thoughts raced through my mind.I don’t know how long I stood there. Eventually, I gathered myself and walked away from my hiding spot.Mateo, don’t you love me anymore? Do you believe I’m really dead? Do you have feelings for Chloe? These questions echoed in my mind as I walked down the road.“Mateo, I’m still alive, and I’m coming back for you! But why didn’t you wait for me?”With weak knees, I couldn’t stop myself from collapsing onto the pavement, screaming at the top of my lungs as the thunder roared in the background. It felt like the rain and thunder were empathizing with the pain and emotions I was experiencing. You promised me, in front of the altar, that you would love me forever! That I was the only woman you would ever love, the only one for you! You promised we would be together forever. So why didn't you wait for me to come back?“Why?!” I cried out, my voice breaking. The rain poured heavily, drenching me. After a while, a flash of lightning illuminated the area, causing me to look in that direction.“M-Martin?” I said, recognizing him as he stepped out of his car. Despite the pouring rain, he approached me and hugged me tightly.“Shhh! I’m here,” he whispered, holding me even tighter.I continued to cry into his chest. “He cheated on me, Martin! He deceived me!”He gently stroked my back, trying to comfort me.“Take me home, Martin.” I pleaded.“Yeah, let’s go home.”He pulled away slightly, without saying a word, and lifted me up. Carrying me in his arms, he walked back to his car and placed me in the back seat.“Everything will be okay,” he whispered as he brought me back into his embrace, hugging me tightly. I felt him press a kiss to my forehead. You won’t leave me, will you, Martin?“THERE SHE IS!”Martin’s attention was immediately drawn to the front of the car, where he saw Ana sitting on the pavement in the pouring rain. He frowned and quickly instructed his driver to stop the car.As soon as the car came to a halt on the side of the road, Martin wasted no time in getting out of the back seat. Ignoring the heavy rain, he hurriedly walked towards Ana and embraced her tightly, planting a kiss on her forehead.“Take me home, Martin!”“Of course, let's go home.”He lifted Ana off the ground and carried her back to the car.“Let’s get going.”“Are we heading back to the hospital, Master?”Martin shook his head and looked down at the woman in his arms. “No, we’re going to San Alfonso.”CHLOE’s POV“Why are you so drunk?” I asked my husband, but received no response. He simply stared blankly into the air. Irritation washed over me as a result. I let out a deep sigh. It had been five years since Ana's death, yet Mateo's behavior had remained the same ever since he fo
“M-Martin!”“Yeah?”“Ahhh! Faster, Martin!” she begged.Martin smiled mischievously and granted Chloe's request. He moved on top of her and increased the pace of his movements. Oh, damn! Compared to the other women he had one-night stands with before, Chloe was dull.He would not have invited her to join him at that hotel if it wasn't for his plan. Before formulating his plan, he delved into Chloe Cain's background and discovered that she had cheated on Mateo. He also found out that Chloe frequently went to clubs and was involved with other men. Additionally, he learned that Ana had become friends with Chloe because Chloe was interested in Mateo.Martin grabbed Chloe's hair and forced her to look up at him, only to be met with her annoying face.“You like me, don't you?” he asked as he continued his quick movements from behind her. “You can't resist me,” Martin said, grinning.Chloe nodded. “Fuck, Martin! Harder, please!”Martin grinned again and pulled her hair even harder. “If that'
THIRD POV“Sir! There’s a woman causing trouble outside!” said his secretary as he walked into his office.Martin stopped and smirked. He faced his secretary, who was waiting for his order.“Sir, may I allow her?”He nodded to his secretary, who bowed before leaving his office. The woman who was causing trouble outside rushed into his office.“Martin!”“What do you want—” He didn’t finish what he was saying when the business proposal that he didn't want to sign was thrown at him.“What does this mean? Why haven’t you signed yet? This is not what we’re talking about!” Chloe shouted at him. When she woke up in a hotel, there was no Martin in the room and no signature from him on a deal they had.“I didn’t say that I would also sign Mrs. Villalobos,” said Martin, which angered the woman even more.Chloe approaches the table and slaps it because of the annoyance that the man has broken his promise.“I agree with what you want just because of our agreement, Martin!” Chloe clenched her fist
ANA’s POV.“Ana, don’t you want to get out of here and get some fresh air?”When I saw Paris standing at the door of my room, I smiled at her.I’m uncertain how long I’ve been here at the hacienda since I found out the truth about our relationship.Since then, I’ve just locked myself in my room and haven’t talked to anyone except Paris and Martin. That’s why I feel like I’m becoming a burden to them, and they could not enjoy their honeymoon.I sighed and smiled at Paris. “I apologize for becoming a burden to you and Martin. Because of me, you can't have a honeymoon.” I said. I’m already ashamed of her for bothering them.I know her. Martin introduced her to me, but I had a feeling they were a couple because of their closeness. It’s embarrassing that I'm still an impediment to both of them.Because of what I said, Paris frowned. “Huh? Martin and I are not married and I’m her friend!” my eyes widened as she spoke, and I covered my mouth because of my nonsense.Paris laughed because she
ANA’s POVWhat information do I have about what happened to me? Wasn’t it just an accident?I just walked around my room, holding my head. And I was confused as well, if I can believe everything they say. And what kind of revenge is Martin referring to? Who will we exact our revenge on?I bit my nails to remember the image that came to my mind. I just stopped thinking when I felt someone enter my room.“Ana.” I sighed and turned to face Martin, who gave me a tired smile. “Are you sure... you’re okay?” asked Martin, as he approached where I was standing. I turned away from him and went to the terrace to look at the Monticello land.I clenched my fists and took a deep breath. “Will you tell me the truth when I say I’m fine?” I felt he was stunned because he didn't respond, so I smiled and said, “You’re still not going to tell, aren’t you? You’re just waiting for me to remember.”How many times have I considered everything Martin said? Many images come to mind, and I'm uncertain if they
THIRD POVAna was taken to another country for proper treatment after what happened to her.Martin did everything he could to help the woman recover, even though she no longer remembers everything, as long as she recovers. It’s been a month, but the girl hasn’t woken up, so Martin has had to divide his time between Ana and his work. He also couldn’t leave his position because so many people relied on him. Martin also monitors the Villalobos family to ensure that no one loses sight of his plan. He also needs to be patience and wait for Ana to wake up.Martin also met Cole’s friend Reese, who helped him in treating the girl. When he had a meeting, he has his staff monitor Ana and notify him of the woman’s condition. Two months have passed, but the woman’s condition is not yet good.“It’s been two months, Reese; why is Ana still unconscious?”Doc Reese exhaled a sigh. “It’s difficult to get amnesia, Don Martin,” said Doc Reese. “Her memories are still hidden because the patient may not w
ANA’s POV( A/n: It's like she went back to the past where she had an accident.) ***“Oh, Ana!”I turned to face the person who had called my name. “J-Jane?” My eyes widened, and I stood up. What is she doing here?“What’s wrong with you?” asked Jane, touching my covered in sweat head. “You’ve been moaning there for a while; are you dreaming?” I couldn't respond because I was still confused by what was going on.“It’s late, friend. We’re the only ones here. You’re not working overtime,” she said with a frown. I looked at her and took her hand. She was taken aback by what I did.“W-what date is today?” I asked, and she frowned, as if she wondered what was wrong with me.She laughed when she realized I was serious about my question. “Today is November 24! Let’s go home, it's late! I’ve been waking you up for a while now!” said Jane, taking her bag.I was stunned, and when I looked at my desk to check my calendar, I noticed that today is November 24, 2011, not 2016. Is this a dream? Is t
“Ana Mystica...” I turned to Martin, who was organizing my belongings at the hospital. “Is that my new name?” I asked, a smile on my face.He sighed and nodded to me. “You’re no longer Bernardino, okay?” I nodded and turned to face him. “You have a lot more to learn in politics, business, and associations with influential people,” he said. I took a deep breath and nodded.I should listen to him because Martin is an expert in situations like this. This is the beginning of my revenge. Martin coughed to get my attention, so I looked at him again. “Don’t worry, I’ll hire people to teach you everything you need to know,” he said as he approached me. “Paris is there to help you with anything you can learn.” I bit my lower lip and turned away from him.“Isn’t that awkward for Paris? I’m already bothering her at work,” I sighed.I was bothering with Martin’s friends. They cannot manage their time because of me. When he put a scarf on me, I was stunned, so I looked at him, who was also starin
CHLOE’S POV“Where are you going again, Mateo?”“You don’t care!”I fell silent because I didn’t want to ask any more questions that might hurt me.“We need you here! The election is coming soon!”He glared at me and pointed at my head. “I don’t care whether Dad wins or not!”“Come on, Mateo!”He ignored me and just went down the stairs. He seemed rushing. I looked at my watch and grabbed the keys to my car because I was going to follow him, maybe because of Ana again, why he was rushing.I bit my lip as I followed Mateo’s car and wondered why he was going to the falls. Damn. Perhaps he’s with another girl again? He parked the car, so I stopped mine not far away. I got out of the car and took heavy steps to make sure that girl knew she could fight for Mateo. When I reached the falls, I could hear the water flowing.“Ana! Sorry, I’m late!”Ana? My eyes widened when I saw Ana in a two-piece bathing suit bathing in the falls. I stepped back a bit behind the bushes so they wouldn’t know I
“Martin, please?” I pleaded with him on the other line because he is currently in Spain but will be coming home tomorrow.(“I said no. We already discussed this,”) he replied.I kicked in frustration because he would rather not agree to my plan.“I have to do this, Martin… Please, babe?”I didn’t know how to persuade him. I might have to kneel and unzip his zipper. Annoying!(“Shut up. You can’t manipulate me like that, Ana,”) he said.I rolled my eyes and let out a deep sigh. “Fine! I hate you!”(“What the hell—”) he didn’t finish his sentence because I’ve been annoyed with him since earlier. He’s the one flirting with others. Damn you, Martin.I glanced at my phone, and he was calling again, but I ignored his call and turned off my phone to make him feel my annoyance. He’s the one stressing me out, not Mateo.“We’re here,” Alexis said.I just nodded to Alexis and got out of the car. It’s been a long time since I last visited them.I placed the flowers I prepared for Alexis and lit a
Ana locked herself in her room for days after learning the truth from Detective Paul. Her anger towards the Villalobos only intensified. The election was approaching, and she couldn’t wait to bring down the family responsible for her parents' death. She was determined to get back what was rightfully hers.Standing up from her bed, she pulled back the curtain and noticed that the guards outside the mansion had doubled. She grabbed her shawl and wallet and descended from the terrace of her room because she had somewhere she needed to go. When she left the mansion, she quickly hailed a tricycle and told the driver where she wanted to go.The tricycle driver hesitated because they needed permission from the mayor to go to the Montes' hacienda, but Ana insisted and offered to pay a large sum. They arrived at the entrance of the hacienda de Montes, and Ana paid the driver all the cash she had before signaling for him to leave, fearing that Levi might still be watching her every move…***“Y
I couldn’t speak when he said that. I don’t know why, but I faced him and saw his smile.“That was made by Don Ignacio, made for his wife, and when they passed away, Don Martinez took it because he knew how important Lady Stella was to his wife and his close friend. I just never expected him to display it at their hacienda. It seems like Don Martinez already knew this would happen,” he said with a shrug, looking back at me. It surprised me to see a tear welling up in his eyes.“D-Detective…”He just shook his head at me. “I’m sorry, okay? I looked for you, believe me. But I found out that the orphanage where I left you was already burned down.”I stopped in my tracks, my eyes widening.W-what does he mean?“W-what…” I stopped and looked at his hand holding mine.“Ana… Anastasia Montes is your real name. You are the missing child of Don Ignacio and Lady Stella. You are their child.”I pulled my hand away from him in shock. I-I couldn't understand what he was saying. I shook my head.“H
“We’re here.”The sight of the vast Montes from the hilltop left me speechless. I couldn’t help but notice the two stones that were in front of us.“This is where I buried Don Ignacio and Lady Stella.”I couldn’t speak and just stared at the two stones with their names.“Are you ready to hear what I have to say, Ana?”I looked at the Detective who was gazing into the distance. The wind picked up, so I held on to my hair. I didn’t know why, but my heart was pounding so hard.I knew I was ready, but… why did I feel like I wanted to go back to the hacienda?“Ana.”I blinked and turned to the Detective who was looking at me.“I want to tell you the truth about the tragedy that happened 28 years ago. When they removed the Montes family.”I just stared at the Detective as the wind blew.“Tell me everything,” I said. He just smiled and looked back at the town.“In 1980, Don Ignacio Montes became the town’s second leader because Don Martinez selected him to follow in his footsteps. Don Ignaci
I woke up because of the noise of my phone. I glanced at the person next to me and Martin still seemed asleep. Furthermore, I smiled and got out of bed to reach for my phone, but I was stopped when I saw a message from an unregistered number.“Let’s meet at my hut, Miss Ana.”I glanced at Martin and slowly got up from the bed to grab my robe. And I just replied to Detective agreeing to meet, in case he had further information or evidence that could further incriminate the Villalobos.I went through my routine and got dressed, in case Martin woke up and found out where I was going. When I came out of the bathroom, I noticed that Martin was still fast asleep, so I quickly grabbed my bag and left the room. And I also noticed that Martin’s whole squad was here.F·ck. I didn’t know how to get past them, especially since Alexis had the keys to our car.“Oh, Ana! Good morning!” they greeted me with a smile. Paris pulled me to the dining area to eat. I sighed in relief, hoping they wouldn’t n
I finished the remaining alcohol and went back to my room to sleep, but I forgot that Martin was there.I stumbled onto the bed and looked up at the ceiling, feeling the effects of the alcohol. Furthermore, I must have had too much to drink. Maybe that’s why Rio and the others were drinking it, to give them energy for whatever they were planning to do. TSK.It startled me when Martin hugged me and widened my eyes when he put his hand inside my lingerie. “M-Martin…!” I covered my mouth as he touched my chest.Isn’t he sleeping? Is he dreaming? Fuck.I looked at Martin and was surprised to see his eyes wide open, staring blankly. I couldn’t deny that women fall for Martin. His gaze seemed to dig deep into your soul.“Martin?”He didn’t speak and continued to touch my chest. I wasn’t even wearing a bra! Damn it, Martin! He was asleep earlier! He continued to touch my chest, and I couldn't help but moan. “Aghn… M-Martin… T-that’s my weakness!” I struggled to say as I pushed his hand away.
I woke up and was surprised by the scenario because it seemed like I no longer had a car.“My husband.”“Stella…”My eyes widened when I saw Lady Stella and Don Ignacio. I knew them from the old newspapers. Is this a dream?“What are we going to do? The Montes are not guilty of what they are accusing them of.”“I don’t know, my love. I don’t know what to do anymore. Don Martinez left the town to me.”I just covered my mouth and cried when I saw their situation. If this is just a dream, please… Wake me up. It hurts to see them like this.I was then transferred to another scenario where chaos was happening at the Montes' hacienda.W-what’s happening?“No! Not my husband! He's innocent!”Oh my god. No… Please!“Stella, take care of our future child. Remember, the truth is on my side.”“N-no…! Ignacio!”***“Ana, wake up!”I woke up and noticed that I was in Martin’s car.“Hey,”I held my chest because it was tight. I didn't know why, but I ended up crying in front of Martin, who I knew w
ANA’s POV“Hey,” I blinked and looked around, realizing that we were at the town hall. I stifled a yawn, as I hadn't had a proper sleep in a week. I tried to read Lady Stella’s diary again, but I couldn't focus due to my business responsibilities and the upcoming election.“Martin,” I called out softly to Martin, who was listening intently to the conversation. “Martin,” I tugged at his sleeve, causing him to turn towards me. “What are you discussing?” I asked. He glared at me, so I just smiled, as I hadn’t really been paying attention, my mind preoccupied with Lady Stella’s diary.“About business and the funds for the citizens,” he replied.I fell silent and leaned back in my chair. I glanced at the Villalobos, who were acting as if they were saints in front of the investors. Furthermore, I couldn’t believe that they could still carry themselves so confidently after what they had done to me, as if they had nothing to do with what happened to me. It was obvious that they were hiding ev
