THIRD POV
“Sir! There’s a woman causing trouble outside!” said his secretary as he walked into his office.Martin stopped and smirked. He faced his secretary, who was waiting for his order.“Sir, may I allow her?”He nodded to his secretary, who bowed before leaving his office. The woman who was causing trouble outside rushed into his office.“Martin!”“What do you want—” He didn’t finish what he was saying when the business proposal that he didn't want to sign was thrown at him.“What does this mean? Why haven’t you signed yet? This is not what we’re talking about!” Chloe shouted at him. When she woke up in a hotel, there was no Martin in the room and no signature from him on a deal they had.“I didn’t say that I would also sign Mrs. Villalobos,” said Martin, which angered the woman even more.Chloe approaches the table and slaps it because of the annoyance that the man has broken his promise.“I agree with what you want just because of our agreement, Martin!” Chloe clenched her fists and yelled at Martin. I hope she shouldn't accept the man's offer. She would have let her husband’s business proposal rot if she had known Martin was just playing with her. She also doesn’t know when Mateo, who still cannot speak, will return to his former self. Not only that, but she is the one doing the work that Mateo should be doing. When Chloe heard Martin laugh, she came to a halt in her thoughts and looked at him.“Did I hear correctly? You just agreed to what I want because of a deal?” Martin laughed as he stood from his seat and loosened his necktie. He looked at Chloe, who was still annoyed with him, and walked closer to the woman, who backed away to avoid him.“Do you know I just used you?” Asked Martin with a smirk on his lips. “But I never said I would sign your husband’s business proposal.” He came closer to Chloe and caressed her face and whispered, “Will your husband die if I don’t sign the paper?” he asked.Chloe’s eyes widened as she realized what Martin had told her.She put some space between them and shook her head. “W-what?!?” she stammered. “So, Martin, nothing happened to us at the hotel?”When Martin saw Chloe’s reaction, he raised his eyebrows. He sighed and smirked as he lost interest. “Oh, come on, Miss Chloe, I never said I’d agree to our deal,” he said as he walked back to his desk to get back to work. “If you have nothing to say, you can leave,” Martin told Chloe, who was becoming annoyed as she realized he was no longer interested in talking to her.The girl clenched her fist, her face flushed with rage.“I will sue you! You have no shame! You will remember this day.” Chloe yelled at him. She turned to leave, but stopped when she heard what the man said.“Was that what you said to Miss Ana before she died?” asked Martin. Her eyes widened when she heard the name that they had forgotten for a long time. She faced Martin again because he couldn't believe that Martin knew the name mentioned.“W-what? H-how do y-you know?” She stammered. When Martin saw her reaction again, he grinned and leaned back in his swivel chair.“Do you think I’m a fucking idiot? Do you think I know nothing about my territory?” asked Martin, and she just swallowed. She couldn’t respond to the young man because she was at a loss for words.“Miss Ana Bernardino was found dead on a cliff, right? And she was Mr. Mateo Villalobos’ ex-wife. I believe it was foul play,” Martin added, and Chloe was shaking and almost pale with fear.Chloe shook her head and clenched her fist. “What does that have to do with me? I don’t know who she is!”He nodded to Chloe and examined her from head to toe. He touched his lips and smirked.“I just don’t want a crime to happen in my territory, and I don’t want trouble in my town. Go leave!” said Martin.Because of her fear, Chloe ran from his office. The employees are confused why she is leaving as if she has seen a ghost.Martin just grinned as he saw Chloe ran out of the company with shaking and fear.“Just run and run. No one can get away from her, and I will wait for the day you fall into her hands,” said Martin, as he sipped his glass and looked at Chloe as she left his company.CHLOE drove her car to the Villalobos mansion. To tell Mateo’s mother what happened when she and Martin met.“Good morning, Mrs. Chloe!” the maids at the mansion greeted her, but she ignored them all and went straight to the garden where her husband's mother, Caridad Villalobos, was.“Oh! Why are you here?” asked Caridad, as she drank from her cup. Chloe nodded and sat in front of her.Chloe took a deep breath. “M-mom…” She was frustrated, and her hands started shaking.Caridad was taken aback when she noticed Chloe was pale and scared. “What happened, huh? Has Don Martin signed the business proposal yet?” asked Caridad, smiling, but Chloe just shook her head and she held Caridad’s hand.“Don Martin probably knows something about what happened, 5 years ago, mom,” said Chloe. Caridad was taken aback by what she heard, and her eyes widened. She looked around and faced Chloe once again. “Wait, what? Shh!” Caridad scolded her because someone might overhear what they were talking about.“What are you saying, Don Martin knows something?” asked Caridad. She was taken aback when she noticed Chloe was crying.Chloe shook her head while crying. “I-I d-don’t know! He knows Ana! He knows about Ana! How did he know about the incident?!” asked Chloe. “Mom! I-I’m scared!” She was frustrated and combed her hair.Because Chloe couldn’t speak properly, Caridad calmed her down.“Calm down! Don Martin knows nothing about the incident!” said Caridad, annoyed. “Of course, he knows Ana! She became Mateo’s wife, but that's all!” She yelled at her. Chloe came to a halt and wiped her tears because she was still not feeling better.“I-I’m scared! If only we can get Don Martin out of our way. We need to do something! What happened 5 years ago will be forgotten!” Chloe panicked.“Let’s do it, mom! Use your power--” Chloe was stunned when Caridad slapped her to wake her up, so she just held her cheek. “M-mom…?”“I said calm down, okay? What happened 5 years ago can’t be opened again! Ana is dead! Ana has been dead for a long time, so what happened has been buried in the ground for a long time!” Caridad yelled at her. Chloe remained silent because she could tell her mother-in-law was angry. When they heard Mateo speak, they were shocked.“What happened 5 years ago?” Asked Mateo.Their eyes widened as they exchanged glances before turning to face Mateo. They hoped Mateo had not overheard what they were talking.Mateo frowned as he noticed his wife and mother were surprised by his arrival. He asked them again. “What happened 5 years ago?”His mother and wife did not respond, which irritated him even more. “Chloe? Mom?”Caridad and Chloe swallowed and laughed, so Mateo wouldn't notice how nervous they were.Caridad stood up to approach her son. “It’s nothing, he-he. We were talking about your father’s campaign 5 years ago,” Caridad explained. She looked at Chloe to confirm what she was saying.“Oh, yes. That’s right. He-he.” said Chloe, while still worried that her husband had heard something.Mateo looked at them, and he nodded as if agreeing with what they said, and walked away to leave them. They breathed a sigh of relief when Mateo walked out in front of them because Mateo didn't seem to have heard anything they were discussing.Caridad turned to face Chloe. “Follow Mateo. Let’s talk again when I confirm with Don Martin if he really knew something 5 years ago,” she said, and walked away, leaving Chloe alone.Chloe clenched her fist, remembering the name of someone she had forgotten for a long time. Because that person has been dead for a long time, she should not be affected because no one will ever know what happened.“Mom Caridad is right; Ana is dead, and the dead will not live again.” she whispered. She took a deep breath before following her husband, and she was going to put away what had happened in her mind first because she needed to do everything for Mateo to love her.ANA’s POV.“Ana, don’t you want to get out of here and get some fresh air?”When I saw Paris standing at the door of my room, I smiled at her.I’m uncertain how long I’ve been here at the hacienda since I found out the truth about our relationship.Since then, I’ve just locked myself in my room and haven’t talked to anyone except Paris and Martin. That’s why I feel like I’m becoming a burden to them, and they could not enjoy their honeymoon.I sighed and smiled at Paris. “I apologize for becoming a burden to you and Martin. Because of me, you can't have a honeymoon.” I said. I’m already ashamed of her for bothering them.I know her. Martin introduced her to me, but I had a feeling they were a couple because of their closeness. It’s embarrassing that I'm still an impediment to both of them.Because of what I said, Paris frowned. “Huh? Martin and I are not married and I’m her friend!” my eyes widened as she spoke, and I covered my mouth because of my nonsense.Paris laughed because she
ANA’s POVWhat information do I have about what happened to me? Wasn’t it just an accident?I just walked around my room, holding my head. And I was confused as well, if I can believe everything they say. And what kind of revenge is Martin referring to? Who will we exact our revenge on?I bit my nails to remember the image that came to my mind. I just stopped thinking when I felt someone enter my room.“Ana.” I sighed and turned to face Martin, who gave me a tired smile. “Are you sure... you’re okay?” asked Martin, as he approached where I was standing. I turned away from him and went to the terrace to look at the Monticello land.I clenched my fists and took a deep breath. “Will you tell me the truth when I say I’m fine?” I felt he was stunned because he didn't respond, so I smiled and said, “You’re still not going to tell, aren’t you? You’re just waiting for me to remember.”How many times have I considered everything Martin said? Many images come to mind, and I'm uncertain if they
THIRD POVAna was taken to another country for proper treatment after what happened to her.Martin did everything he could to help the woman recover, even though she no longer remembers everything, as long as she recovers. It’s been a month, but the girl hasn’t woken up, so Martin has had to divide his time between Ana and his work. He also couldn’t leave his position because so many people relied on him. Martin also monitors the Villalobos family to ensure that no one loses sight of his plan. He also needs to be patience and wait for Ana to wake up.Martin also met Cole’s friend Reese, who helped him in treating the girl. When he had a meeting, he has his staff monitor Ana and notify him of the woman’s condition. Two months have passed, but the woman’s condition is not yet good.“It’s been two months, Reese; why is Ana still unconscious?”Doc Reese exhaled a sigh. “It’s difficult to get amnesia, Don Martin,” said Doc Reese. “Her memories are still hidden because the patient may not w
ANA’s POV( A/n: It's like she went back to the past where she had an accident.) ***“Oh, Ana!”I turned to face the person who had called my name. “J-Jane?” My eyes widened, and I stood up. What is she doing here?“What’s wrong with you?” asked Jane, touching my covered in sweat head. “You’ve been moaning there for a while; are you dreaming?” I couldn't respond because I was still confused by what was going on.“It’s late, friend. We’re the only ones here. You’re not working overtime,” she said with a frown. I looked at her and took her hand. She was taken aback by what I did.“W-what date is today?” I asked, and she frowned, as if she wondered what was wrong with me.She laughed when she realized I was serious about my question. “Today is November 24! Let’s go home, it's late! I’ve been waking you up for a while now!” said Jane, taking her bag.I was stunned, and when I looked at my desk to check my calendar, I noticed that today is November 24, 2011, not 2016. Is this a dream? Is t
“Ana Mystica...” I turned to Martin, who was organizing my belongings at the hospital. “Is that my new name?” I asked, a smile on my face.He sighed and nodded to me. “You’re no longer Bernardino, okay?” I nodded and turned to face him. “You have a lot more to learn in politics, business, and associations with influential people,” he said. I took a deep breath and nodded.I should listen to him because Martin is an expert in situations like this. This is the beginning of my revenge. Martin coughed to get my attention, so I looked at him again. “Don’t worry, I’ll hire people to teach you everything you need to know,” he said as he approached me. “Paris is there to help you with anything you can learn.” I bit my lower lip and turned away from him.“Isn’t that awkward for Paris? I’m already bothering her at work,” I sighed.I was bothering with Martin’s friends. They cannot manage their time because of me. When he put a scarf on me, I was stunned, so I looked at him, who was also starin
When someone knocked on my door, I awoke. I stood up after rubbing my eyes.“Ana, let’s go!” exclaimed the person outside my door, and I nodded, although it couldn’t see me.When I looked at the clock, my eyes widened when I realized it was already 8 p.m. I appeared to have slept for a long time, so I got up to get dressed because they appeared to be inebriated. TSK, I’m late for the party. When I left the room, the maid showed me where the pool area was because they had claimed it was there. I headed straight to the pool area, and I was true in my prediction that they were already drunk. When Arielle spotted me, she yelled, “ANA!” I smiled at them, embarrassed because I was only dressed in a robe.Paris and Arielle approached me, both of whom appeared to have been drinking heavily. They drew me to where they were and yelled when they saw me. I looked everywhere to find Martin.“There he is,” Paris whispered, and I followed where she was pointing, but I grimaced when I saw Martin, who
I’m not sure what Martin’s goal is. If he wants to teach me, he shouldn’t do it this way. My hands clenched, but I took a deep breath before returning my gaze to the target.Although it is still a fake, there is a picture of the Villalobos. My fists right away shook as I glanced at the pictures of the Villalobos family pinned to the target.Martin said, “I’ve been watching your shooting practice for a while,” but I stayed silent. “I noticed you were nervous about holding the gun, so I instructed my staff to make a picture of the enemies, so you could focus on what you were doing.”I took a step back and shook my head because I wasn’t ready to see them again, not even in pictures. What is Martin thinking? I’m doing great in training! He no longer has to do this to me!He grabbed my hand, but I evaded him and pointed at him, frightened.“I’m not ready to face them, even with their pictures!” I yelled. And turned away because it made no sense to continue my training.“How can you take re
When we arrive at a venue where I shall be present. They invited Martin to become an investor in the upcoming company. He brought me along to teach me more about business strategies and how to fool high-ranking individuals.“Ana.”I took a deep breath and swallowed. Even though I've learned from other sources, it’s still different in real life. It’s no longer a game, since this is where I can show whether I’ve learned anything in my few months of training.Martin asked, “Are you okay?” I nodded and tried a grin at him.Do I look okay? Even though I’ve planned off time, I’m still worried.“Don’t worry, this is your first mission; you must win the hearts of high-ranking people for the company you will establish,” he said as he took my hand. I took a deep breath as I glanced at our hand.“I know, but it’s different when you’re in front of well-known individuals here; it’s intimidating, but I can handle it,” I said. He smirked and flicked onto my forehead, making me giggle.“You’re with m
CHLOE’S POV“Where are you going again, Mateo?”“You don’t care!”I fell silent because I didn’t want to ask any more questions that might hurt me.“We need you here! The election is coming soon!”He glared at me and pointed at my head. “I don’t care whether Dad wins or not!”“Come on, Mateo!”He ignored me and just went down the stairs. He seemed rushing. I looked at my watch and grabbed the keys to my car because I was going to follow him, maybe because of Ana again, why he was rushing.I bit my lip as I followed Mateo’s car and wondered why he was going to the falls. Damn. Perhaps he’s with another girl again? He parked the car, so I stopped mine not far away. I got out of the car and took heavy steps to make sure that girl knew she could fight for Mateo. When I reached the falls, I could hear the water flowing.“Ana! Sorry, I’m late!”Ana? My eyes widened when I saw Ana in a two-piece bathing suit bathing in the falls. I stepped back a bit behind the bushes so they wouldn’t know I
“Martin, please?” I pleaded with him on the other line because he is currently in Spain but will be coming home tomorrow.(“I said no. We already discussed this,”) he replied.I kicked in frustration because he would rather not agree to my plan.“I have to do this, Martin… Please, babe?”I didn’t know how to persuade him. I might have to kneel and unzip his zipper. Annoying!(“Shut up. You can’t manipulate me like that, Ana,”) he said.I rolled my eyes and let out a deep sigh. “Fine! I hate you!”(“What the hell—”) he didn’t finish his sentence because I’ve been annoyed with him since earlier. He’s the one flirting with others. Damn you, Martin.I glanced at my phone, and he was calling again, but I ignored his call and turned off my phone to make him feel my annoyance. He’s the one stressing me out, not Mateo.“We’re here,” Alexis said.I just nodded to Alexis and got out of the car. It’s been a long time since I last visited them.I placed the flowers I prepared for Alexis and lit a
Ana locked herself in her room for days after learning the truth from Detective Paul. Her anger towards the Villalobos only intensified. The election was approaching, and she couldn’t wait to bring down the family responsible for her parents' death. She was determined to get back what was rightfully hers.Standing up from her bed, she pulled back the curtain and noticed that the guards outside the mansion had doubled. She grabbed her shawl and wallet and descended from the terrace of her room because she had somewhere she needed to go. When she left the mansion, she quickly hailed a tricycle and told the driver where she wanted to go.The tricycle driver hesitated because they needed permission from the mayor to go to the Montes' hacienda, but Ana insisted and offered to pay a large sum. They arrived at the entrance of the hacienda de Montes, and Ana paid the driver all the cash she had before signaling for him to leave, fearing that Levi might still be watching her every move…***“Y
I couldn’t speak when he said that. I don’t know why, but I faced him and saw his smile.“That was made by Don Ignacio, made for his wife, and when they passed away, Don Martinez took it because he knew how important Lady Stella was to his wife and his close friend. I just never expected him to display it at their hacienda. It seems like Don Martinez already knew this would happen,” he said with a shrug, looking back at me. It surprised me to see a tear welling up in his eyes.“D-Detective…”He just shook his head at me. “I’m sorry, okay? I looked for you, believe me. But I found out that the orphanage where I left you was already burned down.”I stopped in my tracks, my eyes widening.W-what does he mean?“W-what…” I stopped and looked at his hand holding mine.“Ana… Anastasia Montes is your real name. You are the missing child of Don Ignacio and Lady Stella. You are their child.”I pulled my hand away from him in shock. I-I couldn't understand what he was saying. I shook my head.“H
“We’re here.”The sight of the vast Montes from the hilltop left me speechless. I couldn’t help but notice the two stones that were in front of us.“This is where I buried Don Ignacio and Lady Stella.”I couldn’t speak and just stared at the two stones with their names.“Are you ready to hear what I have to say, Ana?”I looked at the Detective who was gazing into the distance. The wind picked up, so I held on to my hair. I didn’t know why, but my heart was pounding so hard.I knew I was ready, but… why did I feel like I wanted to go back to the hacienda?“Ana.”I blinked and turned to the Detective who was looking at me.“I want to tell you the truth about the tragedy that happened 28 years ago. When they removed the Montes family.”I just stared at the Detective as the wind blew.“Tell me everything,” I said. He just smiled and looked back at the town.“In 1980, Don Ignacio Montes became the town’s second leader because Don Martinez selected him to follow in his footsteps. Don Ignaci
I woke up because of the noise of my phone. I glanced at the person next to me and Martin still seemed asleep. Furthermore, I smiled and got out of bed to reach for my phone, but I was stopped when I saw a message from an unregistered number.“Let’s meet at my hut, Miss Ana.”I glanced at Martin and slowly got up from the bed to grab my robe. And I just replied to Detective agreeing to meet, in case he had further information or evidence that could further incriminate the Villalobos.I went through my routine and got dressed, in case Martin woke up and found out where I was going. When I came out of the bathroom, I noticed that Martin was still fast asleep, so I quickly grabbed my bag and left the room. And I also noticed that Martin’s whole squad was here.F·ck. I didn’t know how to get past them, especially since Alexis had the keys to our car.“Oh, Ana! Good morning!” they greeted me with a smile. Paris pulled me to the dining area to eat. I sighed in relief, hoping they wouldn’t n
I finished the remaining alcohol and went back to my room to sleep, but I forgot that Martin was there.I stumbled onto the bed and looked up at the ceiling, feeling the effects of the alcohol. Furthermore, I must have had too much to drink. Maybe that’s why Rio and the others were drinking it, to give them energy for whatever they were planning to do. TSK.It startled me when Martin hugged me and widened my eyes when he put his hand inside my lingerie. “M-Martin…!” I covered my mouth as he touched my chest.Isn’t he sleeping? Is he dreaming? Fuck.I looked at Martin and was surprised to see his eyes wide open, staring blankly. I couldn’t deny that women fall for Martin. His gaze seemed to dig deep into your soul.“Martin?”He didn’t speak and continued to touch my chest. I wasn’t even wearing a bra! Damn it, Martin! He was asleep earlier! He continued to touch my chest, and I couldn't help but moan. “Aghn… M-Martin… T-that’s my weakness!” I struggled to say as I pushed his hand away.
I woke up and was surprised by the scenario because it seemed like I no longer had a car.“My husband.”“Stella…”My eyes widened when I saw Lady Stella and Don Ignacio. I knew them from the old newspapers. Is this a dream?“What are we going to do? The Montes are not guilty of what they are accusing them of.”“I don’t know, my love. I don’t know what to do anymore. Don Martinez left the town to me.”I just covered my mouth and cried when I saw their situation. If this is just a dream, please… Wake me up. It hurts to see them like this.I was then transferred to another scenario where chaos was happening at the Montes' hacienda.W-what’s happening?“No! Not my husband! He's innocent!”Oh my god. No… Please!“Stella, take care of our future child. Remember, the truth is on my side.”“N-no…! Ignacio!”***“Ana, wake up!”I woke up and noticed that I was in Martin’s car.“Hey,”I held my chest because it was tight. I didn't know why, but I ended up crying in front of Martin, who I knew w
ANA’s POV“Hey,” I blinked and looked around, realizing that we were at the town hall. I stifled a yawn, as I hadn't had a proper sleep in a week. I tried to read Lady Stella’s diary again, but I couldn't focus due to my business responsibilities and the upcoming election.“Martin,” I called out softly to Martin, who was listening intently to the conversation. “Martin,” I tugged at his sleeve, causing him to turn towards me. “What are you discussing?” I asked. He glared at me, so I just smiled, as I hadn’t really been paying attention, my mind preoccupied with Lady Stella’s diary.“About business and the funds for the citizens,” he replied.I fell silent and leaned back in my chair. I glanced at the Villalobos, who were acting as if they were saints in front of the investors. Furthermore, I couldn’t believe that they could still carry themselves so confidently after what they had done to me, as if they had nothing to do with what happened to me. It was obvious that they were hiding ev
