THEON

I told myself it was nothing, but that was the biggest lie I had ever told. Before I knew it, I was back in my car, headed for Lockwood Academy again.

I had called Mrs. Luther early in the morning to inform her that I would be coming to the Academy to check out a few things and discuss something with her.

That was a lie. The truth? I couldn’t get Milo out of my head.

I couldn’t understand why, and it was absurd, if you asked me, because he was just a kid I met yesterday. He was supposed to be another of the numerous kids I encountered daily, but this one stuck.

His eyes that looked oddly familiar and sparked with curiosity. The way he held on to me and bounced excitedly when we talked. It felt like I knew him forever, like he was mine.

I had told my assistant to clear my schedule for the rest of the day because I didn’t plan to go back to the office. If I could, I might spend the rest of the day at the school.

Work could wait. Whatever this strange pull was I had towards the kid

THEONToday was one of the few times that I was able to have dinner with Elle. It was quiet as usual, with the clinking of the cutlery as the only noise to accompany us as we ate.I could not stop watching her, and she noticed, but she was not saying anything. No matter how I tried, I could not get Milo out of my head, and it didn’t help that I kept linking Elle and Milo to that drawing I had found in her room.I took another sip of my wine as I again visualised Milo beside Elle to see if I would find a similarity.“You’ve had your eyes on me all evening,” Elle spoke, not lifting her head from her plate to stare at me. “Is there something on my face?”“No, nothing is on your face,” I answered, dropping the glass on the table. “I just have something on my mind.”“Business?” she asked. Even though her tone was guarded like always, it still surprised me.Elle was never one to care about what happened with me. She never asked how my day was, what I was up to, or anything like that.“No,”

ELLEI stormed out of the mansion without a clue as to where I wanted to go next. All I knew was that I had to be far from Theon before I lost it.“The keys!” I screamed at the driver standing by the car. When he handed them over, I snatched them from him and drove out of the compound like a mad woman. My hands were clenched so tightly around the steering wheel that my knuckles turned white. Theon’s words played in loops in my head, and I couldn’t stop it.I dialled Sophie. “Meet me at the house,” I told her as soon as she answered the call.“Elle?” her voice was laced with worry and confusion “What’s going on?”“Just meet me there. I can’t talk,” I told her, ending the call before she could ask another question. The drive to the house was fast and dangerous, and it was a miracle I made it in one piece, but right now, my safety was the least of all my worries.I knocked loudly on the door, and Jeremy opened it shortly.“Ellie? What are you doing here?” he asked, his eyes wide with sur

AUTHOR’S POVMira Sterling paced the length of her spacious and extravagant bedroom with a frown. She was seething and could barely control the fury that was simmering underneath her controlled expression.“The audacity of that small fly to walk me out of her office,” She fumed. “She dismissed me like I was nothing.”Mira could not calm down. That woman, Elle or whatever she called herself, had humiliated her by calling security to drag her out like some lowlife beggar.“I will make her regret treating me like that,” she swore. “Everything is happening because of that useless child of mine. If she had married Theon instead, I wouldn’t have to encounter brats like this one.”Mira took a seat on her bed. Since she returned from Elle’s office two days ago, she had been continuously seething. She hadn’t been able to calm down because she kept thinking about that day.No one dared speak to her since they saw how prickly she was. Not even her husband, who left on a business trip this morning

Have you found an alternative school for Milo yet?” It’s been days since my argument with Theon, and I have avoided him like a plague ever since.Or maybe he was the one avoiding me? Who cared? All I knew was that I had not seen him since, and I was relieved. I didn’t think I could look at him and not want to hurt him.Was I overreacting? Maybe, but I would never let him find out about Milo.“I think you should change your mind,” he said, dumping himself on the couch and reaching for the bag of chips Sophie had kept on the table.“About what?” I asked with a frown.“Pulling Milo out of Lockwood,” he said, and I glared at him.“I can’t believe you are saying this.” I hissed, “Don’t you know why we are doing this?”“I know, but we have to consider what Milo wants as well.”“Why?” I asked, “He shouldn’t care about wh

I was holding back from going back to see Milo, and I couldn’t get Elle’s expression out of my head. She had looked close to falling apart when I asked her if Milo was her son. He eyed me silently before focusing on the road.He had decided to drive us to the party instead of a driver, and I had no complaints.I must admit that it was a bit unnerving how quiet Theon had become.
