Annabel's POV.

I paced through my living room, my gaze flickering to the clock on the wall. It had just been a day since Derick left for London but for some odd reasons, I was feeling restless, and I could feel my patience wearing thin. I’d called, texted, and tried every excuse to check in on him, but he’d been distant, giving me little more than brief answers. It was like him—but something was going on, and I am determined to find out what.

I picked up my phone and scrolled through my contacts until I found the number I needed. After a few rings, a familiar voice answered. “Hello?”

“It's Anabel. I need you to do something for me,” I said, lowering my voice. “I want you to find out what Derick is doing in London. Keep an eye on him, and let me know if he meets with anyone... especially Ava.”

The person on the other end agreed, and I gave him instructions before ending the call. My son came running into the room just as I hung up, his small backpack slung over one shoulder. “Ready fo

Ava's POV. As I watched the morning sun peeking from the face of the earth, I knew I was going to be tired because I couldn't sleep a wink last night, my mind running through the thoughts of “what if?" What if Derick wasn't a match? What if he was, and they had the sugary? Would he try to act petty? Would he leave Triaten and me alone? Would he act maturely? Those were the thoughts running through my mind all night, and I'm so glad Andrew wasn't here, otherwise I might have heard a mouthful of lessons as to why I should try to sleep, or he would comfort me. He had gone to Boston for a quick business meeting that was urgent. He didn't want to leave, but I knew how long and hard they had been working towards that meeting, so I forced him to go. Now I kind of regret it but it's for the best he'll be back before I know.I sighed, “I need to sleep, my eyes are starting to hurt.” I said under my breath as I pulled the blanket over my head. Almost immediately, my phone started buzzing besi

Ava's POV I pulled out the storybook, holding it up with a grin. “Of course! Ready for the knight and dragon adventure?”He nodded eagerly, scooting over so I could sit on the edge of the bed beside him. We read together, his little voice chiming in with some of the words he’d memorized by heart. For a while, everything else melted away, and it was just Tristan, me, and the magical world of knights and dragons. Nothing else mattered in those moments; it was a reminder of why I had to stay strong, no matter what the results brought or what challenges might follow. After I was done reading to him, a nurse came over and I quickly excused myself. The hospital was as sterile and quiet as always, the soft hum of machines and distant voices creating a calm, almost surreal atmosphere. I found myself walking down the familiar corridor to the doctor’s office, each step feeling heavier than the last. When I walked in, Dr. Mendez greeted me with a warm smile, gesturing for me to sit.“Thank you

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    Trick Or Treat

Annabel's POV Annabel clenched her jaw, staring at the ticking hands of the clock with icy precision. Each second brought her closer to her plan's execution, and she relished the thought of tearing apart whatever little world Ava had built for herself. The thought of Derick with Ava, sneaking around and hiding things, stung her pride more than anything. She had fought too hard, given up too much, to let a ghost from Derick’s past undermine her.She picked up her phone, glancing at the last message from her contact. They’re scheduled to meet with the doctor in an hour. Her heart hammered with impatience, anger simmering beneath her composed exterior. The plan was set. All she needed was to confront Derick and force him to see where his loyalties should truly lie. But before she could put that in motion, she needed something more. She needed proof. Ava had always had this irritating air of innocence that disarmed people, but Annabel knew better. Ava was playing a game, and Annabel was

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    Halloween Season

Ava’s POVThe last few days had been a rollercoaster of hope and nerves. We were ready for Tristan’s surgery. Everything had been planned out meticulously; the doctors had assured me that it was a routine procedure and that it was just a matter of time before everything would be fine again. But as fate would have it, things didn’t go as expected. On the morning of the surgery, I was pacing the hospital hallway, too anxious to sit still, when a nurse approached me, looking hesitant.“Ms. Ava,” she began gently, “ sorry to inform you but there’s been a complication with the equipment we need for the surgery. It’s going to take a little while to fix. We’ll need to reschedule.”My heart dropped. After all the emotional preparation, the waiting, the prayers, the sleepless nights—I had to accept that we would have to wait a little longer. They assured me it was a minor technical issue, but that didn’t ease the worry gnawing at me. Still, I had to stay strong for Tristan. He didn’t understan

Annabel's POV.A chill settled over me as I finished the call, my contact’s words still ringing in my ears. Halloween. They’d postponed the surgery, and in the meantime, Ava had decided to take Tristan trick-or-treating. I could feel my fingers curl, digging into my palm as I mulled over the information. Perfect.I’d been biding my time, watching, waiting, as Ava pranced around like she was still part of Derick’s life. I knew he was back in New York and was company, but it didn't matter—this was my opportunity. With him out of the picture, there was no one to get in my way, no one to stop me from taking back what was mine.A slow, twisted smile crept onto my lips as I started planning. Ava thought she could slip away, take Tristan, and play house with him like I didn’t exist. But she was wrong. By the time I was finished, she’d know exactly where she stood—and who she was dealing with.I found out the kid's name only a few days ago—Tristan. I rolled the name around in my mind like a b

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    31st

Andrew’s POVI watched Tristan beam in front of the mirror; his superhero masks slightly askew as he struck pose after pose. Ava stood beside him, a soft smile on her face, clearly savoring every moment of his happiness. For the first time in days, the tension that had been hanging over her seemed to lift, replaced by the joy that only Tristan could bring out of her. But despite the lightheartedness in the room, my mind was elsewhere, weighed down by something much darker.I excused myself quietly, slipping out of the room and into the hospital hallway, my phone already buzzing in my pocket. Liam. I had asked him to look into Annabel’s activities after something had been gnawing at me for days—her silence. For someone as calculating as Annabel, silence usually meant something was brewing beneath the surface.I answered the call quickly, stepping into a quiet corner of the hospital where I could speak freely. “Liam, what did you find?”There was a pause on the other end, and then Liam’

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    Up To Something

Andrew’s POV His excitement was infectious, and I could see he was already imagining his big Halloween night. The hospital trick-or-treating was fun, but I could tell that what really had him buzzing was the promise of going out in the real world, dressed in his superhero costume, running from house to house, collecting candy like every other kid. He deserved that experience, and I’d do everything in my power to make sure he got it.Ava’s smile lingered as she looked at Tristan, her eyes soft with love and relief, even if the worry still shadowed her thoughts. For now, though, we were giving Tristan the happiness he deserved.“Alright, my superhero,” Ava said, standing up and offering him her hand. “One more round of trick-or-treating, and then it’s time for bed. We’ve got to save some energy for the 31st, remember?”Tristan bounced on his toes, his little cape swaying behind him. “I’m ready!”We all laughed, heading out of the room again. Despite the challenges still ahead, we were givin

Ava's POV. The morning sun streamed through the window, casting soft golden light over the room. Tristan was still asleep, his small body curled up in his superhero pajamas, his mask from last week's trick-or-treating clutched in his hand. He wanted to hold it in his hand while he slept. I watched him for a moment, my heart swelling with love and relief. Today was Halloween, and for once, the excitement outweighed the worry.I slipped out of the room silently, leaving Tristan to his dreams, and made my way to the hall. The hospital was still and quiet, save for the soft ticking of the clock. I could feel it—that anticipation, that waiting. Something about today felt different like I was on the edge of something bigger.I found myself standing near the corner of an empty hall, my phone clutched in my hand. Ava's POV.Mrs. Pierce smiled through her tears, her gaze fixed on Tristan with a tenderness that tugged at something deep inside me.As the evening wore on, we sat around the dining table, the air still heavy with unspoken emotions. After dinner, Mrs. Pierce folded her hands on the table, her expression serious.“There’s something else I need to tell you, Ava,” she began, her voice calm but resolute.I raised an eyebrow, bracing myself for yet another revelation. “What is it now?”She glanced at Andrew and Tristan, then back at me. “I’ve kept my distance for years because I didn’t think I had the right to disrupt your life. But I’ve been following your journey, and I’ve wanted to come back sooner than this.”“Following my journey?” I repeated, narrowing my eyes.“Yes,” she said, her voice trembling slightly. “Ava, I wasn’t just trying to rebuild my life after I left you. I…well, I married someone. A man who believed in me and my dreams. Together, we built a life—a very successful one.”I fr

Ava’s POVThe weeks that followed Annabel's arrest were a whirlwind of emotions—relief, anger, and a lingering sense of unease. I couldn’t shake the feeling that she wasn’t entirely gone from our lives, even as the police assured me she would be locked away for a long time. But life had a way of throwing curveballs. One morning, as I sat by the window sipping tea, the nausea that had plagued me for days returned with a vengeance. I barely made it to the bathroom in time. Tristan, ever the observant little boy, knocked on the door.“Mommy, are you okay?” he asked, his voice tinged with worry.“I’m fine, sweetheart,” I replied, forcing a smile when I emerged. “Just a little stomach bug.”But it wasn’t a bug. Deep down, I knew. The signs were unmistakable, and a test later that evening confirmed it.I was pregnant.I stared at the test in my trembling hand, the reality sinking in. Another child. A sibling for Tristan. A symbol of everything I’d fought so hard to protect. As the news settled in,

Annabel’s POVThey all thought they’d won. Ava, Derick, even Andrew—they all got to walk away happy. But what about me? Where was my happy ending? Where was the life I’d envisioned? Derick wasn’t supposed to go back to Ava. He wasn’t supposed to turn his attention to some child. Tristan. That boy had ruined everything.I stared at the grainy photo I’d taken of Tristan at the park last week. His laugh still echoed in my mind, grating against my nerves. Derick doted on him, Ava clung to him, and even Andrew looked at him like he was some precious treasure. It wasn’t fair.If Tristan were gone, maybe things could go back to the way they were supposed to be. Derick would grieve, of course, but I could help him heal. I’d be the one he turned to. The one he leaned on.The plan had been forming in my mind for weeks. It wasn’t impulsive—I wasn’t stupid. I’d spent hours studying their routines, noting every detail. Ava’s work schedule, Derick’s visitation days, and Tristan’s after-school activ

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    Shared Bond's

Ava’s POVThe judge’s voice echoed through the courtroom, cutting through the tense silence like a blade.“In the best interest of the child, the court has decided on joint custody. Both parents will share equal responsibility in raising Tristan.”I sat motionless, my fingers gripping the edge of the table. I had prepared myself for this outcome, but hearing the words spoken aloud still sent a chill down my spine. Sharing Tristan with Derick wasn’t what I wanted—but the court had decided, and I had no choice but to accept it.Tristan was my whole world. The idea of someone else, even his biological father, having a say in his life felt like an intrusion. But the judge was right. Tristan deserved both parents in his life. No matter how much I resented the situation, I had to focus on what was best for my son.As the courtroom emptied, Derick approached me. He walked hesitantly, as if unsure of how close he should get. I glanced at Diane, who nodded and took Tristan by the hand, guiding

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    A Father's Truth

Derick’s POVThe small park bench felt impossibly narrow as I sat there, nervously gripping the edge. Tristan was perched beside me, his little legs swinging back and forth, not quite reaching the ground. His curious gaze was fixed on me, a mix of innocence and wisdom far beyond his five years.I took a deep breath, unsure how to begin. The truth was, I had no idea how to talk to a child—especially one who looked so much like me, yet felt like a stranger.“Do you like the swings?” I asked, trying to break the ice.He shrugged, clutching the juice box I’d handed him earlier. “They’re okay.”Silence fell between us again, heavy and awkward. Finally, Tristan spoke, his voice quiet but firm. “Why weren’t you there when I was born?”The question hit me like a punch to the gut. I looked at him, my throat tightening. How could I explain something I didn’t even fully understand myself?“I didn’t know about you,” I admitted. “Your mom didn’t tell me until…until she needed help.”His small brow

  • Revenge Of The Trillionaire Heiress    String's Attached

Annabel's POVThe glow of the city lights spilled through the floor-to-ceiling windows of my apartment, casting shadows across the sleek marble floor. I sank into the plush sofa, glass of wine in hand, as my phone buzzed with yet another update.Tristan seemed fine today. No incidents.Ava’s watcher confronted someone near the school, but they got away.Andrew stopped by Diane’s office this afternoon. He’s definitely keeping her in the loop.I smirked, setting the wine down and scrolling through the messages. It was almost laughable how predictable they all were—Ava, so desperate to appear the perfect mother; Andrew, playing knight in shining armor. And Derick, as always, trying to manage things while keeping me in the dark.Poor, naive Derick. Did he really think I didn’t know everything already? The updates he shared during our hushed conversations were a watered-down version of the truth—carefully curated to make him look like the doting father fighting for his son. But I had my ow

I want to know if you see him again.”After hanging up, I texted Diane, filling her in on the new development. We need to discuss this tomorrow. I’m doubling Tristan’s security and contacting the school. Her reply came almost immediately. Agreed. This will only work in our favor if we act quickly.I stared at the phone for a moment, my chest tightening with frustration. Diane was right—this could show the court how vigilant I was and how far I’d go to protect Tristan. But deep down, I hated that I even had to do this. I hated that someone was using my son as a pawn.I called the number again my hand clenching the phone tighter. “Did you get anything? A description? A photo?”The watcher hesitated. “Not really. He wore a baseball cap, pulled low, and kept his head down. It was deliberate—li

Ava's POV.The courtroom loomed over me as I stepped out of the car with Diane at my side. Her calm demeanor was reassuring, but my nerves refused to settle. Tristan’s laughter echoed in my mind, a reminder of why I was doing this.“Ready?” Diane asked, her sharp eyes scanning my face.I nodded, clutching the folder of evidence she’d helped me prepare. “As ready as I’ll ever be.”The court had given us a month to prepare for this, and every single day had been a battle. Between balancing Tristan’s needs, meetings with Diane, and keeping myself together, I felt stretched thin. Andrew and Kim had been my rocks during this time. Andrew’s unwavering support and Kim’s relentless encouragement kept me going when I wanted to break.“You’re a good mother, Ava,” Andrew had said the night before, his voice steady. “The court will see that. No one could love Tristan the way you do.”Kim had chimed in during one of our late-night calls, her voice fierce. “You’ve got this. You’re smart, you’re str
