Kendrick's POV Audrey and Jenni were standing face to face, their eyes locked in a heated stare-down and I could do was stare at them. Why did Jenni act so rashly? Why was she losing her calm so easily these days? The fate of the pack was fully dependent on Audrey at this point in time and Jenni knew that. Why was it that all she wanted to do right now was still to pick a fight with Audrey despite knowing that? "Why would I mind my tone while speaking to a weakling who merely became someone important by accident?" Jenni growled. "I'm still more important than you could ever be, whether by accident or merit so shut your mouth," Audrey fired back. "I can't believe you would even think about taking control of my pack, Who do you think you are?" "Why don't you ask me that in a few days when I've become the ruler of this pack?" Audrey replied, her voice calm and steady. "Rulership of a pack is the job of the Alpha and Luna, why are you trying to go against the general rule of werew
Audrey's POV I can't believe that the fool Kendrick married had actually come here to yell at me. I had been tempted to leave her shouting at my door till she realized how stupid she was but Kendrick and Jake just had to come and start dragging her away. That was so boring. Since I was bored anyway and wanted to see for myself how despondent they were, I decided to step out of my room for a moment. After all, I could just walk back in if I realized that the situation was not as entertaining as I thought it would be. It turned out to be quite interesting though... Jenni kept yappering and something about her unprovoked hostility made me feel like we knew each other when I was still living in this pack. But where could I have known her from that she would be so hostile towards me? I never annoyed anyone while I was in the pack, they only bullied me for no reason. That kind of hostility could only be as a result of a beef between the both of us. I didn't remember anything though, I
Kendrick's POV I paced back and forth in my study with my thoughts racing faster than they had in a long while. I knew what I had to do, but that didn't make it any easier. I took a deep breath and turned to face Jake. "Jake, I've made a decision," I began firmly. "What decision exactly?" Jake questioned. "About the situation with Audrey," I muttered and took another deep breath. "I'm going to hand over my position as Alpha to Audrey," I breathed out and Jake's eyes widened in surprise. "What?" He exclaimed. "You know that she demanded it in exchange for helping our pack, it's the only option that we have right now," I spread out my arms in a shrug and Jake shook his head in disbelief. "Kendrick, you can't just decide to hand over your position like that." "I know but Audrey's reaction yesterday has proven that she will not back down in her request to get rulership of the pack before she would stay here and help us. Besides, she has obviously been trained as a lycan princess
Kendrick's POV I could hear my strides echo as I walked through the corridor in the palace making my way to Audrey's room. It was the morning of the fourth day and we hadn't received any reply from the Lycan King which meant just one thing; I had to hand over power to Audrey. There was no other way if I wanted her to remain in the pack and give us her assistance. As I approached Audrey's room, I could feel my heart pound harder and harder in my chest. By the time I arrived at the door, my palms were filled with sweat. I couldn't believe that I had made this decision three days ago but I was still so reluctant now that it was time. I took a deep breath and knocked on the door only to get no answer. I knocked again, this time louder but still got no response so uneasily tried the handle. It was improper to open a female's room like this and I definitely wouldn't do this if this was a normal situation but I was presently desperate. She had said that she would leave on the fourth da
Kendrick's POV I huffed as I strode out of my private office and turned to Jake who was waiting at the door. "It's done," I informed him and he sighed heavily. Audrey and her guard had come back to the palace on two horses provided by the border patrol guards and she and I had come into my private office to discuss the details of the handover. From what we decided, there wasn't going to be much difference between me being in charge and her being in charge except that I had to inform her of everything I did and she would always get credit as the ruler of the pack. Now that I had done this and discussed how things would go, it actually didn't seem so bad. "Summon all the pack members so that I can announce the handover to them," I instructed him and he bowed solemnly. Giving up power was not something Alphas did lightly and there would be resistance but what had already been done couldn't be fought against. "I'll summon the pack and try to make sure they are here as soon as possi
Kendrick's POV Once I introduced Audrey to the people, the guards called for everyone to bow and I could see them begin to bow even though they seemed reluctant. Once they had all bowed, we waited for Audrey to give a speech and at least acknowledge the people since they had acknowledged her. I mean since she was a princess, we thought that she would have already known that was the next thing to do but she wasn’t saying anything. She was just watching the people with a strange look in her eyes. All I perceived from her was a feeling of satisfaction and another feeling that I just couldn’t explain what it was. I was still scared that Audrey was taking out a revenge meant for just me on the entire pack and the thought made me feel guilty. What was I going to do to appease her? Was this the end of her revenge? Or did she have more planned? I didn't even know. It soon began to feel like she wasn’t going to say anything so I whispered to Jake to inform her that we needed her to addres
Audrey's POV As I sat on the throne with my legs crossed, I couldn’t help but think that maybe what I was doing was wrong, maybe these people didn’t deserve what I planned to do to them. I was almost beginning to feel sorry for them when I remembered what my life was like back here when I was just a weak female who couldn’t get her wolf. I didn’t feel any good about myself when I was here. ‘No, I shouldn’t feel sorry at all,’ I thought and looked at Kendrick where he was standing. ‘These people didn’t do anything when Kendrick humiliated me. They still ended up making him the Alpha of their pack. Well, I wonder if Kendrick even told them the truth at all.’ I watched the werecouncil members exit the throne room after I let out my growing impatience to get the priest so that I could officially be crowned queen. Jake and Kendrick didn’t leave with them. Well, I had asked Kendrick to stay and get a message from me but as for Jake, I didn’t know why the hell he stayed back. But they
Audrey's POV They seemed very shocked when I announced my plan to them but that wasn’t in any way going to change my mind on what I already planned to do. Kendrick and Jake looked even more shocked than the rest of the men present especially when I said that Kendrick would be my personal servant. Jake even almost gasped which was so, so, funny. When I had said that I wouldn’t totally discard him, what was he thinking? That I would let him work as my right hand man? A very delusional thought, not when I planned to make him pay for his crimes. “Is there a problem?” I asked, looking at all of them and expecting someone to speak. They were supposed to argue and be dramatic, to say that I wasn’t doing the right thing or that I was doing too much. That would have made it even more fun but instead of that, they were even afraid to speak. “There is definitely no problem, My Queen. We are all in agreement with every single part of your plans and will do anything we can to please you,” Ke
