DARIAN'S POV"There's trouble," Japhet said as I sat we him discussing before a sudden sound rang from the bushes. He stood up immediately, "Brace up for battle!"I was startled. What was happening? The thought of Elva flashed in my head. Japhet had told me that he had sent Elva and Jacqueline to the bush to fetch some firewood."Shit!"The first thing I did was hurry up and take Japhet to a safe place. Even though he was the leader of the pack, he didn't look like a fighter. I'd know a fighter from a single glance."Let me fight!" He said."Stay here! I'll handle them!" I told him and ran off to the soon-to-be battlefield. Our women and children were being rushed to a safe place by some of the warriors. But the few who remained were commanded by Dreyfus to engage in combat. The next moment, Elva and Jacqueline emerged from the bush, running very fast.Immediately Jacqueline got to us, she aligned with the soldiers and took battle formation. Elva rushed to my side immediately."We're
ELVA'S POVThe next morning, I woke up to the sound of the echoing mountain. Its ethereal melody traveled throughout the landscape. Everyone else was already awake, gazing toward the mountain just some meters ahead of us.We started to dismantle the tents and pack every other thing we had come with. We needed to cross the mountain as quickly as possible because it was the main abode of the mountain wolves. But whenever the mountain had begun singing, they don't attack the passers-by.Quickly, everyone got into their carts and the horses rode off, heading for the mountain. It was very captivating — the sound from the mountain.Myth had it that the daughter of the first mountain wolf was inside the mountain, singing. She had died at a little age. And when she died, she was singing a soft melody, even after her death. There were only a few believable myths I knew, and this wasn't among them. But the other myth about the mountain was what I desperately wanted to know.As we rode past the
ELVA'S POV"I still wonder how you've been fighting with such a poor grip of your sword," I heard Darian yell at Jacqueline as I dragged my feet to the training field. The last night had been one bad dream after the other. Five nightmares. It had even gotten to the extent that I decided not to sleep again till the next morning. But while keeping awake, I slumbered off again and had the last nightmare.Remembering that it was the reason why I had woken up this late made my veins pop. But the most annoying thing was that I couldn't clearly recall all those nightmares. If someone asked for a narration of my nightmares, I would only be able to give a half-baked narration.I got to the battlefield. Jacqueline was already sweating despite the fact that it was still morning. It seemed her screams were what woke me up from sleep. Her training attire was very beautiful. A skimpy brown shirt that didn't reach her navel. Then she wore what seemed like an underwear that lapped around her buttocks
DARIAN'S POVWe finally arrived at the place where Japhet intended for the nomad pack to settle. However, it was a place I knew. And it didn't take long before I recognized the landscape. The big Oak trees, the raffia palms where mynahs made their nests using the tree leaves. It was definitely where I thought it was. There were meant to be two werewolf packs living nearby. I had been to that place once with my father when I was younger.I walked up to Japhet where he was instructing some warriors on where to set up our tents for tonight.I waited for him to end his discussion with them. The moment he turned, he met standing and waiting for him."Darian," he said my name."Do you really own this place?" I asked him straight out."I never said I did," he answered with a twisted look on his face. "Why?""I think I've been here before," I told him, walking up to him and then pointing at one of the Oak trees, "I remember the whole landscape.""Well, I've been here before as well, and that'
DARIAN'S POVAshley returned some minutes later. Her father was with her. It seemed he had rounded up with the work he was doing back then."Please forgive me, young men," he said to us, "I'm such an ethical man that I don't abandon someone else work just so I can quickly grab a new one.""I understand," Japhet said with a tight-lipped smile. "I respect that."Japhet and Mr. Cortgard began to discuss the construction plans and the price as well. I didn't have much to contribute to the conversation, so I decided to go out for some fresh air."Follow him, Ashley," said Mr. Cortgard to his daughter, "just don't forget to come to call me whenever I have an appointment.""Okay, Dad," she said and gracefully marched out with me.We had gone a few meters away from the bar when I decided to ask her about the book she had with her.The moment I asked her, she clutched it fast to her chest as if some precious jewel was inside there. Then she answered me, "It's just my father's appointment book.
ELVA'S POVThree days passed and finally, we had seven houses to live in, including Japhet's house which was built a little further away from the rest of the houses. There was another building that served as the kitchen and store as well. The land was still spacious but there were other things we needed at that point other than adding more buildings. Each house had about four rooms and we found a way to share them until everyone was accommodated. There were about thirty-four of us in the pack. Each room was meant to be shared by two people, but a few of us were lucky to get a room all to ourselves.Dreyfus got a single room. So did Darian and a few other warriors. Jacqueline and I shared a room. We even shared clothes because I didn't have anything to wear except Darian's masculine clothes. There was a reasonable amount of comfort for everyone now, unlike those days when we used to sleep jam-packed in the carts, suffering from heat and being prone to catching sicknesses from others.O
ELVA'S POV"Sorry for interrupting, guys, but Japhet really needs our attention now. Everyone who can fight!" Jacqueline said."What happened?" Darian stood up immediately."There's an incoming attack from Alpha Noah's pack!" She said, "We need everyone!"Our numbers weren't that much yet. And the few soldiers we had weren't as trained as those from Alpha Noah's pack. However, my wolf, Ruya, predicted that we would win the battle. There were fifty of Noah's men charging toward our pack. Fifty trained men. And even though our pack had increased in number, we could form twenty-five men in the battle team. From the distance, I could hear the hooves of Noah's men's horses galloping as they headed straight for our pack."The battle is an easy one," Ruya said to me again, "you people have an eighty percent chance of winning, so just sit home and don't get yourself hurt."Don't get myself hurt. Not when I had already dressed and tucked in my sword. But the moment I was about to leave the doo
ELVA'S POV"I knew we made an enemy of Alpha Noah the moment Japhet won him in the duel over this land," Darian said as he walked in, sweating profusely. "At this rate, we will have to constantly train every day. All his men were slaughtered and we retrieved their weapons. But we had enough casualties on our side.""You guys fought well," I said, "but I'm curious about the person who defeated the enemies that attacked from behind all by himself.""Huh? All by himself? Nobody did that," Darian laughed, "That's ridiculous. We split into two, half defended the front and half defended the back."I paused, then inwardly spoke to my wolf who could hear the things I heard."Were you misinforming me?" I asked Ruya furiously."No," he laughed at my face, "Did it sound like I was misinforming you? Darian probably fought at the front gate. He doesn't know what happened at the back gate."I sighed, "Oh… that's probably why.""Uhm… Elva, you need to see Japhet soon. I'm received his mark. I'm sorr
ELVA'S POVI was feeling very weak but surprised that the wolfsbane didn't affect me much. Almost as if I was going to die, I longed for Darian to come save me. I couldn't believe that I had been such a big fool who believed Nolan. I let him take such a big advantage on me.I heard noises like someone was fighting outside. I couldn't move, just sat there completely glued to the chair. My heart was pounding in my chest right now.The door suddenly burst open revealing Nolan. " You? What do you want?" I yelled at him.He didn't answer my question but just ran over to my side and untied me. " Let go of me, let go!"He gripped my hand tight. " We don't have much time and your stupid lover boy isn't here yet so I had to hurry back to get my men and save you," he explained.I didn't even have much strength. "Why isn't the wolfsbane affecting you?" He inquired." Because I'm a silver wolf," I answered him." Ohh," he trailed, nodding his head. " We better get going, I heard Haelstrom is unde
DARIAN'S POVElva hasn't come down and it's been quite some time now but yet I haven't even seen a glimpse of her. It was driving me insane because the palace was getting all filled up with Elva nowhere to be seen.I couldn't take it anymore and ran up to her room hoping that she would be there. I arrived and didn't even see Elva there. Her dress was still on top of the bed so that means she didn't go far.I checked the bathroom and closet but she was nowhere to be seen. My heart was pounding wondering where the hell she could have gone. I knew that she was so nervous but I never expected her to run away just like that.I should have tried harder. I didn't comfort her well and now she's gone, it's entirely my fault that she's gone. It's all my fault.I tried not to jump to any conclusions thinking that she probably wouldn't have gone far. I wanted to tell my beta but decided to just make sure that I could find her before jumping to conclusions.I called her phone multiple times but sh
ELVA's POVToday was D-day. I didn't feel any different rather I felt like nothing. I looked at my dress with different thoughts running through my mind, I didn't even know what to do or if I would ever be able to be a good Luna.I was sure that Darian didn't worry whether or not I was still with but it still troubled me daily and it's been very hard not to think about it. My body was somehow trying to correspond with my current situation. My face was filled with lots of unwritten expressions. I should have gotten ready but I couldn't bring myself to. I tried so hard not to give in to my thoughts but rather it was more disturbing to my mind, making my headache.I heard a knock on my door. I turned to go answer it. I opened it and saw Darian standing there looking charming as ever with such a handsome look. He was dressed in a normal black tuxedo and his head tied perfectly." You look charming," I complimented. He chuckled a bit and made a move to enter but I just blocked him. " This
NOLAN'S POVThe thought of having to lose my position weakened me. I couldn't visualize myself not being the alpha, I had to find a way to get Elva back at least to trick the people even if it's just for a little while.I thought that maybe I could try to get to them by using the nice guy stuff on them. I even tried making a great deal with Darian but that annoying asshole didn't even give a shit or cared about it.I thought that he would succumb to it once I promised to break the bond but it didn't help one bit. Instead, it made him more adamant and brutal and bluntly refused right to my face.I had to think of something and I had to get on with a plan fast otherwise all this would be gone. I noticed someone present in the room, I looked up at him only to find out that it was just a guard. The last thing I needed right now was bad news." What do you want?"" Good afternoon alpha," he greeted. " You have a guest," he told me.I raised my head, wondering who the guest could be. I knew
DARIAN'S POVI knew that the guy could never be nice. I knew that he was up to something which was definitely for his benefit. It was easy to grasp that this was just all of his plan and a way to make him let go of Elva so he could finally get what he's been longing for.I didn't know whether or not to tell Elva about it trying not to get her stressed out. We've only been back at his pack for a week now but a lot had been going on, I didn't want to stress her much, especially with the fact that her coronation was coming up.I shrugged off the thought and decided to go for a swim. I changed into just my boxers and jumped into the pool at once. It was just some kind of way for me to relax my body and let out all of my inner stress.Nolan could come ahead and fool anyone but he's most definitely not going to fool me because I could easily see right through his plan. It was more than clear that this was all of his motive and plan.I decided in my mind that I would try my best to make sure
DARIAN'S POVThe dead weight of what I had gotten myself into was mortifying. I didn't mean to lash out at Fabian just like that in front of everyone but I had just had more than enough from him and wanted nothing more but to just put him back in his place.I heard a knock on my door. I immediately composed myself and had to clear my throat before attending to the person at the door."It's me, Logan," I heard him say.I heaved a big sigh and drastically opened the door with different emotions popping up in me. " What do you want?" I asked, not really in the mood to see him" I came here to see you," he replied.I further opened the door, giving him more access to my room. He entered my room. " Sit," I offered him a chair not far from the couch. He sat down on the chair looming around the room. I could easily tell that he was hesitant to talk probably because of how intimidating I was sometimes and now he's debating in his mind." Are you going to speak or should I chase you out?" I thr
DARIAN'S POV" Are you kidding me? So you're telling me that he wants the throne instead?" Elva asked after I narrated the entire incident to her.I nodded in response and my eyes widened with shock. She tried eating something but right at the same time, no words came out of her mouth. She just kept quiet for a minute." So, what are your plans now?" She finally spoke up.I didn't even know whether or not I had a plan but something was for sure and it was making things more and more intense for me. My head was stuck with lots of mess." He just thinks that I'm not capable enough but I'll make sure to prove to him that it's beyond what he thinks," I said. She looked at me with a warm smile on her face as my beta came in with some sort of worried look on his face. I prayed and hoped that it wasn't any sort of trouble because I had to deal with more than enough." Good evening alpha Darian," he greeted, with a slight bow.I immediately ushered him back up, trying not to stress him much s
ELVA'S POV I seldom sat at the window side, counting all the days it's been without Ruya. He was finally gone and that empty feeling was back there in me once again, it was a feeling of pain and pure relief. My new wolf — Stephano wasn't a pain in the ass like Ruya and that was exactly what I liked about her. She may seem rude but rather she was lively and we got along well in such a way that even I couldn't describe it.I got off my feet and left the room deciding to go for a walk round the garden. I've been indoors for quite some time now and now I've subdued the fact that all I needed was just a little outing to get me going.I decided to let off the guards but they weren't too far off from me either. I just had to have them with me in case of anything and speaking of trouble, that was when I noticed Nolan not too far away.I made sure to stay at a safe distance where it would be easy to alarm the guards in case anything happened. I thought of walking over to him to try to get to
FABIAN’S POV"What do you mean she's a silver wolf?" I yelled out loud.I couldn't have been more furious with this discovery that had just been made. I can't believe that the more I thought that I was closer to achieving my goal, the more it was becoming useless for me.The girl whose name was Celia shrieked as I thundered loudly at her. My heart was totally pierced right now with this new maud discovery wishing I had known earlier which was why I made her go as a spy to the palace. She told me that some maids got a clue of what she was doing and just what she was up to. I couldn't let anyone discover what we've been up to so I made sure that she found a way to get rid of them.I had always kept a good reputation and couldn't risk having Darian suspecting me otherwise that would just ruin my entire plan and she would be the cause of it. I couldn't go back now so if she was planning anything she had better back down otherwise I would kill her with my own bare hands. She didn't even re
