Chapter 45: An Alert for Danger

ELVA'S POV

Jacqueline and Darian's encounter yesterday was the most confusing thing I had seen. I just couldn't understand why he'd keep telling me that nothing had transpired between the two of them.

First, the pack split into two groups for bathing. The males went to their section and the female went to theirs. So, what could have taken both of them to coincidentally meet at another pool that no one else knew about? Did they also coincidentally become naked together? I just couldn't make any sense of all the explanations he gave me.

As I woke up the next morning, the first face I met was Jacqueline's. She was having a conversation with Dreyfus, Japhet's second in command.

As I walked past them, my eyes clashed with hers and the memories of the previous day came rolling back in. I averted my gaze quickly and continued to where I was going.

I stumbled into Darian on the way as he was returning from fishing with some other werewolves.
