Chapter 28: The Party

ELVA’S POV

“My King, together with the rest of the hunting squad, our catch this evening is dedicated to your biological daughter, the princess behind the veil,” Kaska said.

I felt something like a stinging sensation coming from Selena’s direction. And when I looked, she was quietly crumpling her fist up, veins popping out on the back of her slender palm. She did it with so much vex and force that one of her long nails broke. I shuddered immediately, making sure that she didn’t notice that I was looking at her.

Kaska continued, “And in response to the privilege you’ve given me tonight, I want to ask that a party be thrown tonight in honor of the princess with one of these big fishes we caught. I hope I’m not being selfish.”

“Not at all,” Father smiled at him, then turned to everyone else, “A party it is tonight! Every one of you present here should go home and prepare. The cooks will get the meals and drinks ready in two hours' time.”
