NOAH "The…." A loud thud cut off whatever it was I was going to say. I peeped behind me and found out it came from outside my door. Someone had thrown something. I muttered under my breath. "That bastard.""Who the hell is that moron!!" I seethed, my gaze still trained on the door. "Show yourself, don't make me come out to get you. If I do, you'd wish you had died the night before!"Silence. I heard nothing and no one moved. The only thing I could hear was my pulsing heart, racing with nothing but anger and rage inside. Deciding I'd had enough, I got up from my chair angrily, a loud screech filling the room as I pulled out my chair from its former position.A few strides and I was just at my door. I took the doorknob and yanked it open but what I saw wasn't what I was expecting in a million years. Just lying in front of my door was a small sized slip-on, it's owner coming to mind immediately. I glanced back at the door and a huge dent had appeared."Curse you!" What exactly was this
Its been days since our last run in with each other and I must say, Noah was taking the insult really well. It'd been three days, and we hadn't even so much as bumped into each other. Talk less of having a conversation or better still, an argument. My last statement definitely got to him, that's why he was so shocked and obviously at a loss for words. I barely knew Noah, but there was one thing I was certain about, Noah hated being compared his dad. The main question now is, was that a good thing or not?I shut my jotter frustrated. I'd gotten it just before I went snooping in Noah's study. It was useless at the time because there was literally nothing on it. Not even a doodle and why? All because of Noah freaking Sage.I tried to reach my back but the pain I felt was out of this world. According to Madame Alexis, I'd bruised my back. Clearly, she tried to pry out what kind of mischief I'd gotten myself into, but I was one tough nut to crack."Your highness." A knock at the door stopp
NOAH I paced around my room non-stop, my feet threatening to burn a whole into the floor. My legs were hurting because I'd been at it for hours, but I couldn't care less. I needed to get rid of this anger or it could be the deadly. It was worse because my wolf didn't want to let go. He wanted to fight, pounce and rip apart that one person that was responsible for all this. I looked outside the window, maybe the moon goddess would help me relax a bit. When I looked outside, all I got was disappointment. The moon in all it's glory, was missing. Not even a tiny crescent was found outside. Just gray clouds moving like a storm was brewing somewhere else."Damn it." I kicked the foot of my chair and it gave a loud noise as it moved a bit. My toe flared up in pain but it died down almost immediately. " Just damn it, damn it damn it!"My eyes raised to the clock way high up on my wall and I cursed.Where the hell was she when you needed her on time? This was border line annoying and infuri
The air in the garden was chilly and it was strange because we were nowhere near winter. The flowers looked dull, trees were stiff and the songbirds weren't even chirping. Not one was in sight and I sat there, holding my journal to my chest and barely rocking myself on the swing.I thought back to two days ago. Two days ago when I'd gotten my revenge on Noah. Two days ago when I embarrassed him in front of his so-called important people. But how dare he? How dare he not invite me to his lunch? If it were to be an opportunity to embarrass me or probably kill me, he'd jump right at the opportunity. That served him right. The disgrace and everything else that came with it, he deserved it all and more even. I didn't pity any of the invitees either, the all looked weird, especially that sleazeball Emirates."My Queen." The door to the garden opened slightly, Laura's head peeking through. She had a sheepish smile and something about her demeanor didn't seem all right. " Good day my Queen."
After everything that went down between Noah and I, the last thing I expected was him inviting me to his study. Not even his bedroom or the throne room, but his study. The same study he'd literally assaulted me and the same crime scene where I was caught. Some nerve he had, honestly. I always knew he was problematic but I guess after today, I'd be adding shameless to the list too. Just wait till I was back to my journal.Don't worry, I hid it where no one could find it. Not even the maids, except they had help from the moon goddess. Two guards flunked my side, literally preventing any other locomotive movement aside from walking. I couldn't even stretch my cramped fingers because I'd be sure to blind at least one of them or both even. To be honest, I'd gotten used to guards being at my every beck and call. I was no longer trying to fight it and I'd had my peace since then.Do you know what else I'd come to terms with? That I was stuck with gowns for the rest of my life. After my littl
I stared blankly as my reflection in my vanity looked me in the eye. Eyeliners and eyeshadows rested around my eyes, with the proper colour of foundation and concealer applied in the right places. My usually pale pink lips were now a bright shade of red like a vampire that had just finished feasting on his victim for the night.I sighed as I picked out the jewelry already laid out in front of me. It was all Laura's doing. She was supposed to be here to help me dress up but I'd insisted on doing it myself. I wanted to be alone. Why? I wasn't quite sure yet. With my eyes still fixated on the mirror, I picked up the diamond encrusted necklace. It was a gift from Noah no doubt and the jewel seemed to go perfectly with my dress for the evening, and yes it was purple too. After clipping in my earrings, I subconsciously grazed the side of my ear. I shivered as the memories of last night came running back."Tomorrow, Bailey Gayle, I'll be marking you as my mate and Luna in front of everybody.
"It's time for me to mark you, My Queen."To say I was hearing bells ringing loudly in my head was an understatement. Cymbals were clashing up there, making my head hurt badly. The fact that Noah just stretched to catch me confirmed my doubts if I wasn't imagining anything. It was real, everything was real. I looked around to the crowd and the pairs of eyes still patiently staring at me weren't unmoving. They fixed their gazes on me, trying to figure out what I'd do next."My Queen." Noah called and I turned back to him. He looked concerned but I knew better than to fall for him. As if confirming my thoughts, he gave a small smirk and winked too. That, set my insides on fire. "Are you alright?""Let me go." I swung my arm below, like I was going for his groins. He bounced back, but not without adding a little grace and flair to it. " Stay away from me.""But I can't ." He cooed, the smirk still on his lips. "The auspicious time is upon us and we should do well so it doesn't pass us by
Jolts of pain spread through my skin, temporarily numbing the area. My eyes were closed so I couldn't see, but I didn't need a shaman to tell me that area was pink, or red even. It was throbbing and with each throb, it felt like I was pumping out a huge gallon of blood. I could feel Noah's breath fan my cheek, causing goosebumps to crawl on my skin. It wasn't your regular kind of goosebumps, these ones were different.I felt disgust crawl over my skin and if I could, I would shed like a snake here and now. But alas, fate wasn't on my side. Instead of feeling hot and unbothered, Noah's breaths were doing the complete opposite."It is done." Diana announced and the crowd erupted in cheers, applauses and whistles flying about. " It is done!""Now, you're mine." I felt Noah smile against my cheek before standing upright. His eyes seemed to rake over me, stopping at the Mark he'd given me before resting on my face again. " You're all mine.""I'm not!" It had sounded fierce in my head, but
