After we bathed the pigs, we immediately fed them.

I stretched because my back hurt. He looked at me and smiled.

"Why?"

"Nothing, mommy. Are you not allowed to stare at me?”

"Hmm." I went to where he was sitting, and I sat next to him. We were both staring at the wide green field here at the farm. "I'm not allowed to be stared at by other men anymore. Only your daddy can stare at me."

He placed his arm on the back of the chair, which made it look like he was hugging me even though he wasn't.

"Veronica, what if I tell your secret?"

My heart suddenly lost its way, as if I had overdosed on coffee. His words are the reason why I feel like this. However, I did not make it obvious to Kalvis that the question that came out of his mouth had a strong impact on me.

“K-Kalvis, what is that? ”
