[SANDRA]"He marked you,” Beatrice breathed out in shock, the realization hitting her so hard and the betrayal becoming even more evident. However, was it a betrayal when Aztec had made his relationship with Sandra public and even had a wedding for them both? Was it a betrayal when she had been dumped and she just refused to get that through her thick skull? Was it a betrayal when Beatrice had long known where she stood with the Marshall alpha? This woman was a piece of work and right now, she had come to disturb the peace of a woman who had been in pain the whole day.“You really want your ass kicked again, right?” Sandra asked angrily. This woman had audacity and Sandra was tempted to remind Beatrice that her dumb theatrics at the Shari ball had led to the marking that Beatrice sounded so scared of. Sandra wasn't sure what the marking meant, but having to be recognized as some barbaric alpha's claim was certainly never on her bucket list. Sandra was scared of the truth that was wa
[SANDRA] "What do we do, Noah?” Amanda asked, freaking out about Luna being on the floor. She had tried to see if she was breathing, but Sandra's breaths were shallow, not to mention her mark was slowly swelling. At least now they could tell why she had been suffering for so long. "Look at her neck,” Noah pointed out and Amanda let out a defeated sigh. She had been so mad at the girl for being the alpha’s choice, blamed her for all the misfortunes of the Marshall pack and yet they were watching her suffering because she hadn't been marked in the right manner. The younger wolves of course couldn't tell the difference this early, but Amanda and Noah were not young. "No wonder she didn't want the alpha to come,” Amanda said as she looked at the frail woman, removing the stray hairs from her face. Amanda was conflicted. She wanted to blame Sandra for being too perfect, but this girl was already going through enough shit. It would be too cruel for her to be jealous of Sandra’s pai
[SANDRA] Gemma looked at the sleeping woman on the couch, before she looked at Noah and Amanda like she was waiting for them to confess to having put Sandra in that state. She was skeptical and the knives in her boots weren't making it any easier for Amanda and Noah to be calm. Granted, they were werewolves, but they were just regular wolves with no position whatsoever in their community. The woman they were looking at looked like she had gone to war and back. Her voice was still cold and her gear looked so scary. "What happened to her?” Gemma asked as she walked to Sandra, before she tucked her gun in her right boot like it was normal for her. She was scared, but that didn't matter right now, because the only thing she wanted was to make sure Sandra was okay. "She—” Amanda began and Gemma looked at her, waiting for the woman to continue, but the mortified world decided to let Noah carry on. And so Noah told Gemma of what had happened, from the beginning to the end. He told her
[SANDRA]The ride to the hospital wasn't long, given that traffic at that time wasn't as heavy as usual. It was almost like everyone was waiting for the fragile girl to get to the hospital. And when they got there, Gemma stepped aside as they wheeled her best friend into the emergency room. She looked distraught, and hoped that the doctors would find out what was wrong with her. Gemma knew there had to be werewolf doctors in this hospital and who could tell what was wrong with Sandra, and frankly, she was thankful for that. Thirty minutes into the wait, one of the doctors came to meet her, finally stopping her from almost digging a hole in the hospital hallway from her fast pacing. She hadn't even told Aztec that his wife was in the hospital yet."Ms. Franzel?” the doctor called out and Gemma hurried to her."How is she, doctor? What is wrong with my sweet Franzel?” Gemma asked and the doctor told her to take a seat. Gemma looked at the man, wondering why she had to take a shot bef
[SANDRA] Pushing the door open, Gemma was scared she didn't know what was waiting for her on the other side. Granted the doctors had talked about Sandra being okay and needing her mate, but what about her emotions? Did they ever consider the fact that this was because of Aztec? Did they even know that our best friend had been forced to marry their damn alpha? 'Get it together, Gemma,’ Gemma scolded herself as she walked in the hospital room, the stench of medicine hitting her nose and for a moment, she felt bad for Sandra. She knew Sandra hated being at the hospital from the moment she had watched her parents die in this very hospital. She had been young, but old enough to know when she was alone in the world and would be traded through the foster system like she meant nothing. "I could have bought you flowers, but there are no black flowers in the market y’know,” Gemma said when she walked closer to Sandra's hospital bed. The room was huge and it felt like one of the bedsit
[SANDRA] "Room 302, but she already has a visitor,” the nurse at the station said, but Aztec didn't care. Instead, he just nodded at the nurse like he would be patient enough and wait for the visitor to walk out. He wouldn't and he knew that too. "Thank you,” Aztec managed to spell out before he disappeared. Broderick looked at his boss whose stress levels seemed to have spiked. The last time he saw Aztec like this was when his mother had died and that was one tough situation that even Derek had to fight with Aztec to snap him back to reality. Broderick wanted to tell the alpha that Luna would be okay, but even he was worried. He had seen how Sandra had been that morning and while he wanted to say that to Aztec, there was a very h
[SANDRA]"Well damn,” Gemma said when she saw Aztec pinning Sandra down on the bed. If Sandra had not been in the hospital, this whole setup would have been a little too romantic but there was nothing romantic about it, especially when Sandra was raging mad. She hated that after everything that happened, she would always have to see Beatrice's face, mocking her, reminding her that she would always come second in Aztec's life. Sandra didn’t mind coming second, honestly, but the sight of Beatrice made her want to send the woman on a trip to hell and force her there.'Maybe if I rip out her heart, she will have a better life, yeah?’ Sandra thought to herself angrily, ignoring her mate who was staring at her like the woman was being delusional. The hospital room suddenly went a little too quiet that even Aztec felt bad for how this had turned out. This wasn't what he was hoping to see when he came from the pack. He hadn’t wanted her to be sick and much less in this state, looking like
[SANDRA] With Gemma out the door, the room had gotten too tense. The doctor looked like he just walked in on a tornado, not to mention the Marshall alpha looked like he was in a fight with his own beta. Everything was a mess, and Sandra was still feeling like shit. She wanted the world to stop for a moment so she could get a hold of herself and her thoughts, but it seemed like everything around her would always remind her of the sham marriage, and its awful side effects. "Should I come back some other time?” the doctor asked after a long agonizing silence, and Beatrice, just scoffed. Broderic turned to look at Beatrice, who was definitely getting herself into more trouble than she could handle at the moment. "You’re coming with me,” Broderick said to Beatrice, who just sighed and followed him outside. They were clearly not needed there and the alpha needed to fix things with his luna. Maybe they would all be okay after the doctor was done with Sandra. "Take him with you,” Sadra
