I can't wait to see my mother's date. As the dark shadows surround my room, I can see how my mother's face is filled with laughter. She is really excited. I think it's time for us to go for dinner, but then she sits there, a smile circling around her face. I wonder why she isn't ready. She should be in a hurry to be there.

“Mum, aren't you ready yet?” I asked her, seeing her sitting down smiling.

“Oh honey, he has changed. He said he is coming over with his son,” she said as she stood up and went directly to the kitchen. I followed her.

Her crush has a son as well? Wow, interesting.

“He even has a son?” I was glad to hear this. At least if she ends up getting married to him, I will have a stepbrother.

“Yes dear, his son is four years older than you,” she nodded her head.

“Wow, that's great!” I exclaimed, my curiosity piqued. “What's his son like?”
