"Do you plan on burning down the whole restaurant?" The manager asked as he pointed his finger to the burning dish.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to."

"I know you didn't, your mind has been all over the place" the manager said as he took over from what I was doing. "You can take a day off if you want, just clear your head before you do something worse."

I was grateful for the offer, but I rather work than go back to that tensed filled house.

"It's alright sir, I'll be more careful next time", I say to the manager who gave me a look before leaving the kitchen for me to handle.

I'm working at a famous local shrimp restaurant downtown. I'm trying to learn how to make the jambalaya. I've been eager to learn it after a vacation Kimberly and I took to Louisiana. The stuff got me hooked. As simple as it looks it's quite hard to make a perfect one. I tried learning online recipes but it wasn't giving me the taste I needed, so here I am, stir frying veggies until I'm giving a chance to enter the main kitchen.

It's six pm already and I'm done with work for the day. I still didn't want to go home yet, so I stuck around the area where the restaurant I was working at was located, just taking casual walks.

I hadn't walked that far when I was cornered by two men. They used a cloth to block my nose and dragged me into a dark alley. I struggled to free my self but I was already too weak, my wolf more weaker. What ever I inhaled on that cloth was made to weaken my wolf, to make me powerless. It was messing with my senses, everything was double and blur.

They laid me in the floor, probably knowing I was defenseless. I tried getting up but the next thing I knew, I blacked out.

"Do you think she's princess Lucia's daughter?"

"I don't know but I think she is, we have strong leads to prove us right this time."

"Yes you're right, all leads point to her. The ritual will be successful and our queen will be the most powerful"

"Don't forget the big rewards we will get once the ritual is completed "

They both laughed.

I've been awake for just enough time to hear their conversation.

"Look she's awake!"

They both held me up and put me in a sitting position, by now my eyes were fully opened, there was no point pretending.

The two men were wearing cloaks and were dressed in tattered trousers and patched boots. Their teeth were brown in color and their skin looked like scales.

The first guy had black hair while the second had dirty brown hair.

"What's your name?" The guy with the black hair asked. I guess they didn't do so much investigation as they didn't even know a basic thing such as my name.

"Beatrice". I lied.

The guy with brown hair pulled me by my hair, tilting my head backwards.

"Your name is Violet, why did you lie?" The blacked haired guy said as he sneered. "If you know you want to see the next day you better cooperate with us."

"What do you want?"

"Just a few things. All you need to do is answer our questions. Whether you live or not depends on how much truth your answer holds." The brown haired guy said as he released my hair from his grip. That hurt real bad.

This time I knew this men meant business. Everything became clearer to me, I could die at any moment. But what could they be looking for that they think I possibly have?

"What's your mother's name?"

"Helena"

" How old are you?"

"Twenty- three."

"Good."

The black haired guy pulled out a pen knife from his pocket.

"What do you think you doing?" I asked him quite alerted.

"Nothing much, we just need your blood for something. Something important" He said as he proceeded to stab me on my neck. Luckily I dodged. That could have killed me.

With the little strength I could muster I kicked the brown haired guy on his knee. He fell on the black haired dude and this kept them distracted enough to let me stand up and put a little distance between us.

"You said you wouldn't hurt me if I didn't lie" I yelled, what's the meaning of this?

"Oh Violet, you did lie. Your mother's name is not Helena. What do you take us for? Fools?" The black haired guy said. He seems to be the one doing the most talking between the two of them.

"What do you mean my mother's name is not Helena?".

"Spare me those thrash" The brown haired guy said as he rushed over to me and pinned my back to a wall while holding my neck.

"Let's get this over and done with" The black hair guy said as he came over with the knife. I could tell that one swipe of that knife on my neck and I'll be a goner. That's how sharp it looked.

Just as he was about to cut through my neck.

"Wait!"

We all looked towards the source of the voice.
