Isadora
Things were looking for Isadora, as good as things could look for a wolf struggling to fit in. Eutychus had come back from his round trip and just like he had promised, they were moving in together. Isadora did not believe that they were actually dating, even as she wheeled her bags ready to move out . Selene had smiled down on her, that was the only logical reason, she thought. She tried to ignore her father’s advice.
‘Get pregnant?? we haven't even…’ she thought to herself, a blush rising in her cheeks. In as much as they had been dating, they were yet to actually go past ‘intense make out’ sessions. Eutychus was a gentleman, he did not want to take advantage of her until things were official. Even when Isadora wanted nothing more than to be taken advantage of, she still reeled in her raging hormones and let things as Eutychus wanted, after all she did not want to mess anything up.
Once she reached the front yard, a very familiar looking car was pulling up at their front door. A smile crept on her face, her boyfriend was here, just like they had agreed. She heard her father walk behind her but her joy did not even let her look back. The driver’s car opened and the driver walked out, it wasn't Eutychus. Her smile faded, she hoped Eutychus would be one to pick her up. She schooled her disappointment and smiled at the ever stoic driver.
“I have been asked to fetch you, miss. ” the driver said and without another word, she was relieved of her bags.
“Don’t forget my advice, call me, sometimes. ”Isadora’s father said awkwardly, patting his daughter’s shoulder as he went back in. Isadora walked to the car, the back passenger door was already opened for her. She got in and belted up., her joy coming back, she w as going to be with her man and if things went well, they would soon be mates, she would be mated to the next Alpha. That prospect alone was enough to erase the disappointment.
“Eutychus must be busy… ” Isadora started some small talk as the car hit the main road. The driver said nothing, his eyes focused on the road ahead. Awkwardly, Isadora looked back out the car window, taking in the urban sights as they passed tall buildings and fancy outlets. The scent in the car was heavy with Eutychus’ scent, a scent that drove her mad with want but she did everything she could to reel it in. The car took a turn and glided onto a more private road. She perked up in her seat, they were supposed to go to their apartment.
“Uhm, excuse me… why are going this way? Aren’t we supposed to -” Isadora started speaking but the driver cut her short.
“I was asked to bring you here, to the Alpha’s residence, miss. ” the driver said, never once caring to look back at her, not even through the rear view mirror.
“Oh… ” that was all Isadora could say as the car cruised the private property. “Is he there right now?”
“No.” the diver answered curtly.
‘Whats with the attitude?’ Isadora wanted to ask but decided otherwise. “I see. ” she said instead.
She resigned to her thoughts as she took in the vast land a pond here and a garden there. Her father wasn't a poor man but the alpha’s residence screamed money. She wondered if perhaps she was going to be introduced to the family before they moved to the penthouse or if she was going to stay here, with the whole family. She wasn't sure if that was what she wanted but she was determined to be the perfect Mate. The car soon approached the magnificent gate that led to the inner court. She had only been here once when running an errand for her father. Everything looked expensive, from the trees lining the drive way, to the asphalt on the ground. As their car drove in, another one went in the opposite direction. It was twice as big as the one she was in, all black and heavily tinted , a shiver rippled her body as the car went past. She blamed her reaction on her nerves.
The car slowed to a stop and Isadora took a deep breath, fixed her dress and using the rearview mirror, she checked her lipstick, not bold , not dull, just like Eutychus liked it. Her side of the door was opened and with one last air intake, she stepped out of the luxurious car, a smile on her face. She was ready.
“Welcome, miss. The the Brown family Residence. ” A man said as soon as she was fully outside the car and off he was, to get the the bag from the driver who slightly bowed his head and returned to the drivers seat. Before Isadora could even utter a word in response, the driver had started the car and the butler was already on the step leading up to the mansion, or was it a castle? She couldn’t really place it with how huge it was. Isador a straightened her shoulders and lifted her chin, just as she had practiced. Confidence was the best accessory, she thought of the words her father always said and he always had a mantra for any occasion.
Step by step, she strutted behind the butler, her eyes taking in the interior of the house. Pristine, that was what the place looked and smelt like. It looked like they were in a five str hotel lobby, the carpet clean and the ceiling to floor windows draped with the drapes she had only seen in home deco magazine. If things went on well, this would be her future home. She almost giggled at the thought of being Eutychus’ Luna but she remembered where she was.
“This way, miss.” the butler said, making a turn to yet another reception like room. Palor? Foyer? What did they call it? Sh e struggled to remember the rooms name. Inside, the maids, both male and female stood in a neat line , neatly dressed and everything. She smiled at them but just like the driver, they were stoic, expressionless even.
“Everyone, this is miss Smith. Miss, these are the staff members, feel free to ask them for anything during your stay here, Becky, is everything ready? ” The butler asked, yet again not giving Isadora a chance to speak.
“Yes sir. ” Becky replied and hurried forward to take the bags from the butler. Isadora ignored the awkward tension in the air. She wanted to ask about the Alpha , she had so many questions but she chose to just go with the flow.
“Good, the rest of you are dismissed” the butler said and faced Isadora “miss, Becky will take you to your room, Master Eutychus will be home shortly. Feel at home.”
“Thank you. ” Isadora said and turned to the omega maid next to her, “shall we?”
Without saying anything, Isadora followed the maid. They took a flight of stairs to the first floor, carpeted with yet the finest tapestry. The stood in front of a door and the maid opened it. Isadora waited for her soon to be mates scent to fill her airways but nothing came. Wasn't this his room?she walked in and took in the sight, right from the pages of yet another five star hotel catalog. It was twice as big as her room back home in her father’s house. The carpet was fluffy and the bed, looked like a floating cloud. The vanity was already stocked and from where she was standing, she could tell they were luxury brands, just not the brands she used.
“Thanks, I will take it from here. ” Isadora told the maid that had stood at the door while she visually explored her room. She rolled the bags and put them next to the fluffy bed. She closed the door and headed for the bed. She removed her shoes and sat comfortably, taking out her phone. There was a message from Eutychus.
[ Hey, Running late. Pack stuff. See you *wink* ]
she read the text and sighed, plopping on the bed. This was not how she had expected the day to go but, there wasn't much she could do about the situation. Her boyfriend, aka soon to be Mate , was a busy man after all. She knew this from the first date they had.
[Its okay babe, see you soon. Missing you *heart emoji*]
She texted back, and put the phone aside to explore the room. The en suite bathroom was just as posh as the rest of the mansion. The cabinets were fully stocked with latest bath and beauty products and yet again they were not the types she used, it was a good thing she brought her stuff. She checked the closet next, a few night gowns and clothes in garment bags hang in the rack, a note was stuck in one of the garment bags.
‘For you. XOXO’ the note read and Isadora smiled. Eutychus was not overly romantic but it was little things like these that made her happy. She opened up the bag and marveled at the shiny blue dress. Blue wasn't her favorite color but it was a silk dress. She zipped the bag back up and save the exploration for later. She hoped to see Alpha Fininian and charm her way into his heart.
She checked herself once more in the mirror that stood in a corner of the room, she was perfect. She walked to door and jumped back when she came face to face with Becky.
“Oh shhiiit! You scared me!”Isadora exclaimed. Placing her hand over her beating heart.
“Sorry, miss. ” Becky apologized.
“Call me Isadora, please.” Isadora said, her heart rate having slowed down. “Would you mind giving me a tour of the place. I would like to also meet the Alpha as well, he’s in right?” she added walking towards the stairs.
“None of the alphas are in, they will be back for lunch though, miss. ” the omega answered , her eyes never meeting Isadora’s.
“Thanks. ” she relied and followed the meek girl. As she was shown the many lavish rooms, she couldn’t help but feel a little out of place. The tour was seemingly over and she had to see her man’s room.
‘Would I be too desperate if I asked ? ’ she thought.
“The young masters rooms are on the other wing, we are not allowed there, only the butler, the driver and his father have access. ” The maid – as if reading her mind- replied pointing to the back of the mansion and she tried not to look surprised.
“Rooms? Wing? ” Isadora failed to mask her surprise.
“His chambers, his office, and his… gym. ” Becky replied , pausing at the last part.
“Ahh , I see.” Isadora replied and they headed back to the dining room on their way back from the garden. They had spent a better part of the morning sight seeing because everything in the residence was a sight to behold.
She went back to her room to freshen up, lunch was around the corner and she did not want to look haggard in front of her boyfriend and future father in law. She let her hair down, letting the jet black strands frame her oval face. Her phone rang, the sound of her reminder beeping. It was a reminder to take her suppressants. The moon had started waning and she had to balance out her hormones if she did not want to embarrass herself in front of her soon to be Mate. It was times like these that she was reminded of her recessive nature. The door was knocked and Becky’s voice came through.
“Lunch is served.” her meek voice announced.
She could get used to this, but more than anything she wanted Eutychus all to herself.
“Coming ” Isadora called out, fixing the stray strands and dreess as she headed out.
She put on her best smile, ready to meet her future, one that she only dreamed of.
AlaricThis was going to be yet another boring meeting where the ‘righteous wolves’ would try to look down upon him and his crew. Alaric knew that much. Living as rouges did come with its own shindigs, let alone being the hated Lycan that he was, and one of them was the constant belittling from wolves in packs, homes, communities, whatever they called them. It wasn't like the rogues under him lived in desolate states. Still, he had a business to run and a crew to feed. The meeting with Darrian was long overdue, Alaric thought as his right-hand man, his brother in arms and claws, parked the car in the basement parking lot of his casino. No one in town knew it belonged to him, they all assumed it belonged to one of the rich wolf bastards, it's not like they cared anyway. To them, they just had a place to be unruly and defiant. Hypocrites. That’s what they were, looking down on him and his crew because they
IsadoraLike everything else in the Alpha’s manor, the dining room was lavish, with the most luxurious items on the elegantly set dining table. She walked in, expecting to see Eutychus and his father but there weren’t there yet. The staff were busy setting up the table and she could see more than three plate settings. She walked over to the seat that would be hers. If she went by the proper seating arrangements, she would be
Alaric Making arrangements for Darrian’s party occupied most if not all of Alaric’s time. He hated it. He needed the day to be as perfect and incident free as possible. Mostly because he couldn’t let his estranged father find fault in anything he did. Even as an outcast, he couldn’t be so nonchalant about things related to the pack, he had an image to protect. He combed over all the itinerary, cross-checked the security for the night. He eve
DarrianDarrian lay in his bed, swiping through the profiles of escorts Alaric had sent him. They were all just what he had in mind, innocent looking omegas who would provide entertainment for the night of the party. His guests needed to know that he could throw a fitting party for their high tastes. He had spent some time with some of the guests and he knew some of their deepest desires, things they couldn’t get in their Packs or even at their homes. He knew they had a wild side that went against their prim and pristine image they had cultivated for themselves and while the party had one sole purpose, to flex his prowess in front of the Alpha and especially smite Eutychus, he was also hell bent on securing his position in society and to do that he needed to mingle with the high and mighty that he had invited. He wanted to be different than his father, who had served the Alpha as a Beta. The man had
Isadora The dress incident had really bothered Isadora. Watching the maid come in and take out the dress she thought belonged to her was quite unnerving but that was the least of her worries. this wasn't how she had pictured the moving in to go Eutychus, her boyfriend, her mate to be… had not come to check on her since lunch. Yes, he was busy with his work and stuff but she was here, in his home for the first time. She tried to let it not get to her, there was no room for pettiness. She plopped back onto her bed, taking deep breaths to calm herself down, even with the suppressants there was still a high chance of things getting out of hand, and this, once again, wasn't the right place or time to be losing her wits. Isadora's phone dinged and she rolled her eyes once she took a look at the notification. [ Don't forget my advice. See you] Her father had of course chosen this time to remind her of things she wanted to forget. Why couldn't her father just be a regular dad, like all the
Isadora “This was a bad mistake…” Isadora thought while she served up the remaining moonshine. Most of the Alpha’s guests had already left. She knew providing a distraction wasn't going to be the easiest thing to do when she agreed to keep the old geezers company, per Alpha’s request. Eventually the last of the guests left the premises and Isadora did not bother to go back to the Alphas' study. She went straight to her room , her bed was calling for her.As soon as she closed the door behind her, she kicked off her shoes and stripped. She turned off the lights and crawled under the covers, blindly reaching out into her side drawer for her suppressants, no matter how beat she was, she had to regulate herself. As soon as her head hit the pillow, she was gone, tired from all the pleasing people. Isadora woke up to her face being caressed. she smiled and leaned into the warm touch. “Wakey wakey…” she heard Eutychus whisper into her ear and a sweet shiver ran through her skin. in that
Eutychus “Maybe inviting her here was a bad idea. ” Eutychus thought to himself as he watched Isadora mingling with some of the guests. In the beginning, Eutychus wanted to take the chance and gloat at everyone that was there and especially that Alaric. He had deliberately invited Isadora at the last minute so he could see the look on Darrian’s face when she walked in. Another part of him also wanted to see what Isadora would do if she saw the mate that had rejected her. “Does she really have to come? ” Regina had asked while they were having lunch in his office. “No, but can you imagine the reaction on Darrian’s smug face? ahh, I can already picture it. Don’t worry too much, I have made the necessary preparations. ” Eutychus replied, and at that time he really thought he had everthing under control. Boy was he wrong. In his mind, Isadora was just a filler in his life. someone his father approved of and occasionally someone to fool around with when he wanted. Choosing her as
Darrian Of all the people he was expecting for this big night, Isadora was the last wolf he thought of, not that he thought of her that often. It was hard to forget that face. The face of a wolf getting rejected, he could never forget it. The fates back then had been testing him and he wasn't about to give in, there was no way he could be mated with lowly omega, let alone a recessive one. Rejecting her was mercy, but now, that mercy was being thrown in his face. Why was she suddenly here? “I can't believe she is here... ” Darrian said to himself as he watched the party from his VIP lounging area. He had seen her when she got in, looking all dazed and lost for a second. She had turned out better than he had expected and no one, not even the high-ranking wolves could suspect that she was imperfect, a recessive omega of all the imperfects. Watching her glued to Eutychus’ side was what really threw him off. Of all the wolves, did they really have to end up together? This was supposed to b
It truly was the manifestation of rejection's Ire and desire's flame as Nightfall fell under a dark cloud. Darrian's reign of terror had begun to truly manifest. Pack members suspected of treason, harbouring rogues or anything that did not go according to Darrian’s regime, vanished without a trace and were replaced by Darrian's loyalists. Fear and suspicion choked the once vibrant pack. Those who had fallen for his smooth speech of wanting to protect what was theirs, now wondered if perhaps they had made the wrong choice, but they couldn't air out these suspicions, not if they wanted to go missing. Meanwhile, Isadora languished in her gilded cage, for she was nothing more than a caged wolf, waiting for her master to choose her fate. The luxurious room felt like a prison, the bars forged from Darrian's cruelty. Regina, his ever-present shadow, taunted Isadora with tales of Eutychus' "weakness" and the impending glory of Darrian's new era. She had always hated Isadora and given their p
Alaric couldn't take his eyes off the baby in his arms. As soon as his daughter was placed in his arms, he had become a new person, no. The moment he heard her cry, something in him changed. The risks he was willing to take to protect his Pack were nothing compared to the absolution and conviction to protect his daughter. There was literally nothing he couldnt do for her and that thought scared him. He went back to the conversation he had with Kierran and realized that if anyone or anything threatened his little girl, there wasn't anything he wouldn't do to ensure her safety. Nothing at all. “What will you name her?” Dianne whispered, too tired from the whole birth ordeal, for a second there, Alaric was scared she wouldn't be able to pull through. “Asa, that is the first thing that came to my mind when I heard her scream. Pick her second name. ” Alaric said, moving closer to Dianne so she could be closer to their pup. “ Wilde…. Asa Wilde. Because she will be the one to heal us all”
Alaric paced restlessly along the Genesis border, the whimper from a suffering wolf a constant thorn in his side. He focused, pushing his senses further, the fragmented images that returned painting a horrifying picture. Someone was calling out to him. Suddenly, Kierran burst into the clearing, his face pale and etched with worry. "Alpha, we have some news… bad news." Alaric's heart plummeted. His mind raced to Dianne, his mate, and their unborn child. Had something happened to them?"What is it, Kierran?" Alaric's voice was a low growl as he started walking towards his home. “Fuck! ”Kierran took a deep breath. “It's Nightfall, Alpha. Darrian… he's overthrown Eutychus and their Luna … she's been captured.”A wave of anger crashed over Alaric. The ambition that burned within Darrian had always been a threat, but this blatant betrayal transcended Pack politics. It threatened the fragile peace between Genesis and Nightfall, a peace Alaric had strived so hard to maintain. But amidst the
Isadora awoke to a suffocating darkness. Panic clawed at her throat as she realized her eyes were bound with a rough cloth. Disoriented and bound to the bed, she tried to piece together the fragmented memories of her day meeting with Genesis Pack Luna. She tried releasing her claws in a half shift, anything that would assist her in setting herself free from the bindings and blindfolds. A sharp laugh sliced through the silence. "Finally awake, Sleeping Beauty?" The voice, laced with venomous amusement, sent a shiver down Isadora's spine. The blindfold muffled her vision, but she could sense someone approaching. "Who's there?" she demanded, her voice trembling slightly."Oh, don't worry, Luna," a voice dripping with sarcasm replied. "It's just Regina, here to welcome you to your new… accommodations as per Alpha Darrian’s request of course." Isadora's breath hitched. Regina, a constant thorn in her side. What did she have to do with this? She felt Regina approach, and seconds later the
Things in Nightfall were changing slowly under everyone's nose rather, people couldn't tell the shift in power within their pack. One night, the pack's enforcers were doing their regular patrols along the pack borders and the next, they were surrounding the Alpha’s residence, no one could tell whether it was for protection or assault. Another group of enforcers surrounded the council hall, with all the important members of the pack in it. “What is the meaning of this, Darrian, care to explain why was- ” an elder, angry and almost red in the face spat but he was pushed back to his chair forcefully. “I don't recall asking you to speak. '' Darrian sneered at the elder as he moved up to the Alpha’s designated seat, taking his time to look at the shocked faces of those in attendance. Once satisfied, he pulled out a wad of papers from his suitcase with the Alpha's seal. He put the items on top of the conference table and yet again let his eyes wander around the room. “Ladies and gentlem
“Did he admit? ” Dianne asked Alaric when the nightfall Luna had left. “Yes and no. Darrian claims that he did it under Eutychus’ orders. I didn’t believe him. My Half brother may be arrogant but never this stupid. Something is off.” Alaric said he couldn't shake off the daunting feeling he felt when they were in the office with Darrian. He was impressed with how Kieran had managed to keep his emotions in check and hadn't jumped on Darrian as soon as he walked through the Pack borders. “So where do we stand? You know I will support you through whatever you choose.” Dianne said, standing up to stretch a little. “It will depend on how they take my message from today's meeting. This isn't really about the assets my mother left me. It's more of control and power. Eutychus feels threatened, and I am not about to sit and let him think he can walk all over us.” Alaric said. “Oh I just wish they would try us… it's been a minute since I-” Kierran stopped himself from finishing the sentence
Isadora Saying those words out loud felt foreign to her. It's not like she had never thought about them but rather that was all they were supposed to be, meaningless thoughts. And now Darrian, the man at the center of it all, had made her speak those words, giving them life and truth… desire even. She looked away from Darrian’s almost silver eyes and focused back on staring outside the window. The trees were more interesting than this conversation. ‘Why in the blue moon did I call him mate?’ Isadora chastised herself as the car ride proceeded with no response from Darrian. “What if, I could give you - ” Darrian seemed to have found his voice but Isadora couldn't let him finish. Dreams were one thing, but promises?“This is not the time for ‘what ifs’ Darrian. You rejected me and I chose Eutychus. I am your Luna and you serve me as my Beta. We made our choices.” Isadora replied. There was nothing Darrian could give her right now other than his loyalty as her Beta. Darrian did not sa
Today was one of those days Darrian hated the most. They had a briefing right before lunch and after that he and Eutychus would be heading to the casino for business. He sat in the large conference room and waited for Eutychus to arrive. Isadora always came in later. However, this time it was she that arrived first and took the usual seat, one that was away from both he and Cas. “Afternoon, Dora.” Darrian cleared his throat and said his greetings. “Afternoon. ” she gave her single worded response, Darrian hated it. He wanted to hear her speak, laugh get angry or even release that intoxicating scent. “Are you guys still having your couples fight? Whatever it was about, deal with it quickly, your brooding attitude is suffocating.” Darrian said the only thing that came to his mind, hoping to rile her up and get some kind of reaction from her. “I don't see how that is any of your business. '' she glanced up from her tablet and fixed her gaze on him, just like he had anticipated. “Whe
To say Darrian had fucked up would be an understatement. He may have just started a war between Nightfall and Genesis packs. Alaric’s pack may have been in its infancy stage but the power they held was enough to make him worry. He sprinted back to Nightfall's territory, using a back route that had a stream. He bent down and washed the sweat off his skin and the remainder of the scent blocker he had on. He found his car where he had parked it and drove back to the ceremony. He would use the time to come up with an excuse because he would be getting questions since he had missed a bigger part of the ceremony. He couldn't erase Leo’s petrified look from his mind, the way he had begged for his life and how mercilessly he had been knocked out. There was no telling what the future for Leo was but Darrian knew he would be tied to him. It wouldn't be long before Alaric would seek vengeance and he would. He pulled up at the pack gates and drove straight for the ceremony. He could still hear t
