Julia POV

My heart was breaking into a million pieces. Since we had left Elizabeth, neither Eric nor I had said anything. We were both lost in our own thoughts with the information that had been shared with us. Nothing would be final until a DNA test was taken to prove the baby was Eric’s, but that also hindered any plans we had for our future.

As we walked into Eric’s home, he pulled me into his arms, “I do not care what the test says. I will not give you up,” Eric promised me. “I do not think you can make that promise,” I said as the tears that I had been trying to keep contained started to flow. “How can we be so close and yet so far?” I asked, confusion sweeping over me.
