  Madeline’s POV

“I am so excited,” Seth said, making me look up at him.

He had a huge smile on his face and it made me happy. I liked seeing him happy.

“You are more excited than I am,” I chuckled as I looked back down at the counter and continued wiping it.

“Of course I am,” Seth said as he approached me. “I will finally know for sure if you are my mate.”

I felt nervousness wash over me. I was planning on leaving tomorrow. I didn’t want to find my mate.

Seth ran his fingers through my hair and I looked up at him. He smiled and caressed my cheek.

“Are you nervous?” he asked and I nodded.

“A little,” I said. “But I am excited to meet my wolf.”

Seth smiled and leaned against the counter.

“I am excited to meet her too,” he said as he crossed his arms over his chest. “She will be amazing, just like you are.”

I felt heat rush to my cheeks. I shook my head and looked back down at the counter.

“How will you celebrate your birthday?” Seth asked. “Jasper thinks that we

Madeline’s POV “Are you ready, Maddie?” Alpha Dimitri asked as he walked out of the house and closed the front door. I furrowed my eyebrows and glanced behind him. Where was Mike? Both of them insisted on being with me during my first shift. Did Mike change his mind? “Mike will join us later,” Alpha Dimitri said, taking my hand in his. I was even more confused than a few seconds ago. Mike was adamant about being with me tonight, and he changed his mind just before we had to leave the house. What was that about? “There is an amazing place near the Wishing Pond,” Alpha Dimitri said. “It will be a perfect place for your first shift.” I nodded and let him pull me away from the house. It didn’t make sense to ask about Mike. This wasn’t unexpected. I was surprised that he even remembered my birthday. I didn’t expect him to spend it with me or do anything. I always thought that I would be with my mom during my first shift. I felt tears gathering in my eyes and a lump formed in

Madeline’s POV “You need to shift, my love,” Alpha Dimitri said softly. “We have all the time in the world to hold each other close.” He smiled and took a small step back. I couldn't focus on my wolf. I couldn't focus on anything else other than him. I was in complete shock. I felt like my heart was going to jump out of my chest. The pain paralyzed me completely. I made my decision, but I was too weak and too scared to tell him. I couldn't be his mate. He was my step-brother. His mother and my father were mates. His mother verbally and sometimes even physically abused me for months. The woman who almost became his mate helped her. Everything and everyone was against us. I didn’t want to stay in this pack from the moment I came here. I didn’t want to stay with the man who left me and my mom. I didn’t want to be around the woman who hated me from the first time she saw me. I already loved my mate and I would love him until I took my last breath, but I couldn't stay. I c

Dimitri's POV My heart was going to jump out of my body. I’d never been in so much pain. I’d never been so scared in my entire life. She wanted to reject me? She wanted to leave me? Fuck no. I would never let it happen. She was mine. She belonged here with me. I couldn't let her leave. It would kill me. I kissed her marking spot and she squirmed. I pressed her even closer to me. I continued kissing her neck gently. My tastebuds were going to explode. I’d never tasted anything as delicious as her. “I love you, Maddie,” I said quietly as I traced my lips to her jaw. “I love you, my queen.” She grabbed the back of my jacket and pressed herself even closer to me. We were now as close to each other as we possibly could have been. I was in fucking heaven. She buried her head into my chest and a small sob escaped her. “I can’t…,” she spoke, her voice muffled. “I…” “You can, princess,” I said as I leaned my head on hers. “You were made for this. Madeline’s POV Janet was going to kill me. I was sure of it. She hated me from the start because she knew I was her son’s mate. She didn’t think that I was good for her son so she tried to get rid of me. She tried to make him take another she-wolf as his mate. She lied to her own son just because she didn’t like me. Pain spread through my body when I remembered Savannah. She tried to take my mate from me. She lied to him. She tried to make him take her as his chosen mate. She lied to him about her pup. My stomach twisted and I tried to take a deep breath. I always wondered why Janet hated me so much and now I knew the answer. She didn’t think I was good enough for her son. And she was right. I wasn’t good enough. But how could I leave him? How could I go when I was in pain just thinking about not touching him and not feeling him in my arms? How could I leave the pack and never see him again? Skye howled loudly. Her pain became my pain and every emotion inside my bod

Dimitri’s POV My heart was hammering inside my chest. I was lying on her bed, waiting for her to finish showering and come lay beside me. I couldn't believe that the day I’d been waiting for finally arrived. She finally knew. I could finally hold her close for as long as I wanted to. I could finally kiss her. I could finally call her my love, my princess, and my queen. I could finally tell her how much I loved her. I could finally let everyone know she was mine and mine only. The bathroom door opened and she walked out, making my heart skip a beat. “Come on, love,” I said softly as I lifted the blanket so she could get under. I was lying on top of the blankets. I didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. She furrowed her eyebrows and approached me slowly. “You will be cold,” she mumbled quietly as she sat on the bed and looked at me. I had to bite my cheeks to stop myself from grinning. I wouldn't be cold. I was a Lycan werewolf. I could sleep out in the snow, but if my

Dimitri’s POV I was never happier than at the moment I woke up next to her. This time was different. This time I was under a blanket with her. She wrapped her arms and legs around me and she was practically lying on top of me. I chuckled and kissed her forehead. “Good morning, princess,” I mumbled quietly. She stirred a little and pressed herself closer to me. I tightened my arms around her and closed my eyes. “We are going to wake up like this every day from now on,” I mumbled and a small smile spread across my face. Just the thought of it had my whole body covered in tingles. She was really mine and I would really wake up next to her every damn day for the rest of my life. She tightened her hold on me and sighed contently. I smiled and opened my eyes. I looked at her and my heart skipped a beat. She was really in my arms. I really survived nine months without her. I survived Savannah’s attempt to take me from her. I survived Seth’s attempts to take her from me. I su

Madeline’s POV This wasn’t going to go well. I could already picture Janet’s face when we told them. I could already feel the hate radiating off her. She would freak out and I didn’t want to tell her. But I couldn't stop Alpha Dimitri from telling her. I would have to tell him why, and I wasn’t going to do that. How could I tell him that his mother was making me feel like trash for the last nine months? I couldn't do that. I couldn't hurt him like that. I would just have to take everything she would say or do to me. I could handle it. I could handle it for him. I glanced up at him and my heart skipped a beat. I could handle anything for him. Alpha Dimitri looked down at me and smiled. He tightened his hold on my hand, lifted it, and placed a soft kiss on my palm. My knees buckled and I almost fell. “Don’t look at me like that, princess,” he said quietly. “Save that look for later when we are alone.” My eyes widened and I looked away from him immediately. Dimitri's POV I was so fucking angry at my mother! I wanted to punish her for suggesting that I reject Maddie and take that lying bitch as my mate. Was she insane?! How fucking crazy was she?! “Alpha?” my princess called me and I furrowed my eyebrows. Did she really just call me Alpha? I stopped walking and turned around to look at her. She was staring at me wide-eyed and I just wanted to pull her to me and kiss her. “Are you okay?” she asked, worriedly. Of course I wasn’t okay. My mother insulted my mate in front of me. If she was anybody else, she wouldn't be breathing anymore. No one insulted Maddie. No one hurt Maddie. “Did you just call me Alpha?” I asked instead of answering her. She furrowed her eyebrows a little and bit her lower lip. “I am sorry,” she mumbled. “Force of habit.” I pulled her to me and wrapped an arm around her waist. I used my other hand to cup her cheek and lift her head a little bit. “I am Dimitri to you,” I said as I leaned in and

Madeline’s POV I groaned as I turned my head to my right. Every part of my body hurt. What the hell happened to me? Was it the pregnancy? I had no idea that your body could feel like you’d been hit by a train. I had no idea that your head could hurt like someone stabbed a knife into your temples. Would I have to go through 6 months of that? “Hello, my little bird,” someone said softly. The voice was both familiar and unfamiliar at the same time. I could have sworn that I had heard it before, but I had no idea where. I was probably dreaming. I gulped and felt around for Dimitri. I wanted to press myself closer to him. The pain would be gone as soon as I was in his arms. I couldn’t find him, though. Did he get up already? “I am here, little bird,” the voice said and I felt a large hand cover mine. I didn’t feel tingles. I didn’t feel sparks. I knew Dimitri’s hand and this wasn’t it. Whose hand was that? Where was I? My heart raced a little. The hand squeezed mine

William’s POV I was pacing around the room, trying to find some fucking way to remain in focus. Dimitri hadn’t stopped whining or growling. I could tell that he was struggling and that he was in immense pain. I knew that he wouldn’t be able to do shit until he came out of the shock he was in. But that was why he had me. I had to take over until he managed to focus back on what mattered the most. “She was poisoned with wolfsbane,” the pack doctor said as he finished checking up on Ali. “The dose wasn’t big. She will be okay, Beta. The wolfsbane just needs to leave her body.” I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I almost lost it when I found her on the floor. But at least I found her. At least she was here. Maddie was… Gone. She was fucking gone. “Thank you,” I mumbled as I opened my eyes and looked at my beautiful mate. “You can leave.” The pack doctor nodded. He glanced at Dimitri before he picked up his bag and walked out of the room. Mike and Ellie walked insi

  • Rejecting My Lycan Mate   CHAPTER 148 Something Isn’t Right

Dimitri’s POV I sank my canines into another rogue’s neck, biting through all the flesh and bone. His body went limp in my mouth. I grabbed him and tossed him to the side. I looked around me and saw my warriors and my guests fighting with the rogues. We were winning, but something about all this didn’t feel right. I had a bad feeling in my stomach ever since Will and I arrived at the border. I thought it was because I had to leave Maddie, but the more I thought about it the more I realized that wasn’t the reason. Will? I mind-linked him as I sank my canines into another one of the rogues coming at me. Yes? He responded, panting a little. Something isn’t right. I mumbled. Look at how they are behaving. A rogue came at me. He barely attacked even though he was a big wolf and he could have done some damage. He snapped his canines at me, missing my arm for only an inch. But it seemed like it was on purpose. He could have hurt me if he wanted to. What the fuck was going on?

Madeline’s POV “Oh, I am so excited about tonight!” Luna Alice exclaimed. “Do you know who is working with whom?” I smiled and shook my head. “I believe they will decide that once the challenge starts,” I said. “That’s a part of it actually. They need to figure out how to work together to find the object hidden in the forest.” Luna Alice nodded. “Oh, so exciting. I can’t wait to see who will win.” “I am sure that everyone will want Alpha Theodore’s warrior on their team,” Luna Maria chuckled as she took another sip of her drink.” Luna Alice nodded. “oh, definitely. “It will be so interesting to see how they will decide.” I smiled at them and glanced at Dimitri. He was only a few steps away from me. He was talking to Alphas Theodore and Lincoln. I couldn’t hear what they were talking about, but Dimitri was smiling and I relaxed a little. He was too tense ever since we came to the throne room. He refused to let go of me for the first half an hour. I barely managed to conv

  • Rejecting My Lycan Mate   CHAPTER 146 He Is Useless

Unknown’s POV “Is everything ready?” I asked as I put my hands in my pockets. I was looking through the window into the thick forest that surrounded my new home. It was just perfect. I couldn’t wait to build my future here. All of my dreams would come true in this place. I would finally get everything I always wanted to have. I would finally become everything I was always supposed to be. “Yes, Alpha,” Brody said. “Everything will be over tonight.” I smiled and took a deep breath. I was so excited and I could barely think about anything else other than finally seeing her tonight. “What about Kendrick, Alpha?” Brody asked and my mood worsened instantly. I fucking hated that man. He was nothing but a greedy, little rat who thought that he would get what he fucking wanted by sucking up to me. “He is a useless piece of thrash,” I said, growling quietly. “We don’t need him.” Brody was silent for a moment. “Are you sure, Alpha?” he asked. “He has insight into…” “What?” I

Dimitri’s POV If someone would describe me as an overprotective and an over-possessive mate I would tell them that they hadn’t seen anything yet. Now that I knew Maddie was pregnant, I would be damned if I let her out of my sight for even one second. Especially in a situation like this when everyone was here and where there was someone who wanted to take my throne. My mate and my pup were a sure way to do that. I would give up everything for them. “Princess,” I mumbled softly as I approached her and wrapped my arms around her from behind. I placed a hand on her lower belly and kissed her shoulder. I was holding my entire world in my arms and that feeling was so fucking hard to describe. “How are you feeling?” I asked her. “Are you nauseous? Are you uncomfortable?” Maddie chuckled and shook her head. “I am perfectly fine,” she said, placing her hand over mine. “I am only a few days pregnant. I think that the symptoms will come a bit later.” I knew that, but I had to as

  • Rejecting My Lycan Mate   CHAPTER 144 Skol Knows

Dimitri’s POV Skol’s whining woke me up from my peaceful sleep. I groaned and tried to shut him out. ‘No, Dimitri,’ he whined. ‘Let me out.’ I tried to push him back, but he wouldn’t budge. ‘Let me out,’ he growled, trying to push me to shift. ‘Let me out.’ What the hell was wrong with him? I groaned and opened my eyes slowly. It was still dark outside. Maddie was sleeping peacefully next to me. What the fuck did Skol want? ‘What the hell, Skol?’ I mumbled, pulling Maddie closer to me. ‘Let me sleep.’ ‘No, Dimitri,’ he whined again. ‘You need to let me out. I can feel him.’ Feel him? What the fuck was he talking about? Was someone here? Was someone on our floor? I opened my eyes abruptly and looked at the door. I tensed up and prepared myself to jump out of bed. I was going to kill whoever it was. I was going to fucking rip them to pieces. Were they here to hurt Maddie? Were they here to… ‘No, Dimitri,’ Skol interrupted my thoughts. ‘No one is here. It’s not like they can feel it. I could be reading your mind right now and you wouldn’t know.” Ellie sighed again. “It’s not about that, Madeline,” she said, shaking her head. “It’s about what happens after. Dimitri doesn’t want to risk it and we all agree with him. It’s not worth it. He will find him without your powers.” I furrowed my brows in confusion. “What could happen after?” I asked. “They will want to know how we found out? As if Dimitri would want to explain that to them. They don’t have to know how we found out. We can just…” “It’s not about that, Maddie,” Ellie interrupted me. “It’s abo

William’s POV I knocked on the door gently as I opened it and walked inside Dimitri’s office. Ellie and Ali were sitting on the couch. Maddie was pacing around the room. My eyes fell on my beautiful mate and I couldn’t help but smile. “Hi, beautiful,” I said as I reached out for her. She blushed a little and smiled. She stood up and walked into my arms. I could feel my heart skipping a beat. I buried my nose into her hair and took a deep breath. I missed her so fucking much. It didn’t matter if I was away from her for only a minute. I missed her regardless of the time I spent away from her. “Where is Dimitri?” Maddie asked, making me look at her. “He is still at the party,” I said, giving her a small smile. “He will be here soon.” Maddie nodded and continued pacing around. “Is everything okay?” I asked worriedly. She looked worried and uneasy. “Everything is fine,” Elie said, giving me a small smile. “Maddie is just nervous without Dimitri.” I narrowed my eyes s
