April's POV

I looked at her, nearly dumbfounded. What did she mean that she was me three years ago?

She took a sip of her water, and her eyes became sad, and her voice became soft and full of grief.

“Three years ago, I was the target of Paige and her gang’s bullying. There was nothing that I didn't suffer in their hands. I was tortured, ridiculed, and beaten; I had lies spread about me and the funny thing is, I didn't even do anything to deserve any of this. I saw the way she treated you, and I realised that the only reason that she left me was because she had found a new target. You.”

I looked at her in disbelief and shock. Her story moved something in my heart, and I wanted to cry. I began to reminisce on what Paige had done to me. She has destroyed my reputation, almost left me for dead in the forest after using a silver whip on me, and now, she was trying to take my mate away from me. She was meddling in my life all because my father died and left me in this cruel world.
