April's POV

My body began to tremble, and my mind read the message over and over again.

"Don’t think I don’t know what you are doing, slut! Conrad doesn’t belong to you."

The mystery of it all skyrocketed my blood pressure. Every atom of exhaustion eluded me, replaced by fear and terror.

I immediately jumped out of bed and dashed to the window. I closed it and pulled the curtains over the glass, darkening my room.
