When Ethan walked into the dark room, the anxiety in the air made his heart beat faster. Gabriel stood on the other side. He was his fated mate, but he had turned him down once.

Gabriel said, "You came," and his voice had a mix of hope and worry in it.

Ethan nodded, and his eyes didn't move. "I did. But that doesn't make what happened different."

Gabriel moved one step closer and put out his hand. "Ethan, please listen to me for a moment."

Before finally taking Gabriel's hand, Ethan paused for a moment. When they touched, he felt a jolt of electricity, which was a reminder of how much they were connected.

Gabriel spoke with sincerity, and his words were full of sorrow. "I was stupid and let my pride make me blind. Now I get it. You are my destiny, and I shouldn't have let you go."

Gabriel's words hurt Ethan's heart, but he couldn't forget the pain of being turned down. "Gabriel, you really hurt me. I need to get better."
