278. Voice from the moon

[Zeve’s POV]

Hikari teleported us in the sky as we hovered at some considerable height from the Aura palace.

I looked at him for an explanation, “put me to my feet and explain yourself.” I ordered.

Hikari’s eyes were fixed on the Aura palace. A few minutes of stark silence crept into the gloomy sky. There was a shrill, high-pitched noise, as if several beasts were howling in a distorted harmony.

I shuddered, grabbing Hikari’s kimono coat and shutting my eyes tightly. Hikari shut my ear with his palm as he buried my face in his chest. The noise slowly turned fainter and fainter.

“What the hell is happening here?” I asked.

It was then Hikari put me to my feet, his hands still wrapped around my waist.

“I can fly on my own,” I said.

Hikari’s gaze met mine. “I know.”

I frowned, “answer me what is…”

I stopped speaking when my eyes went to the Aura palace and the sky above it.
