[Zeve’s POV]“Do you want to meet Ez?” I asked. We went back to Ez’s castle.“Not really,” Amor said.He hugged me from behind while I buttoned my shirt. He helped me button up my shirt. “I know you hate vampires, but Ez is different. Trust me, if you meet him and get to know him, you will understand that his vision is ages ahead…”“I know how much he likes you. If you keep praising him like this, I will get jealous,” he said, licking my neck. I shuddered as he nuzzled against my nape.I turned around and looked at Amor. “How did you know?”He pulled me in roughly and kissed from my throat to my cleavage. “I didn’t mean to witness your romantic time together with him, but things kind of led to it…”“Then I hope you also heard my reply…” I gasped as he picked me up in his hands, made me wrap my legs around his waist, and pinned me against the wall.“Of course, your polite rejection saved his life that day,” he said, peering at my lips.I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him.
[Zeve’s POV]I set off with Aria to the Ichor palace’s ruins. There were already several of Ez’s vampire soldiers and Aria’s team on the site. Some were taking care of the debris and others were digging out precious items from it and Aria’s team was looking for the door that could lead us to Derek’s underground palace. The problem was the magic around that palace that didn’t allow me to enter it through teleportation. There was definitely something that Derek wanted to hide from everyone, and maybe the Nyx scythe was there, too.Through Mayavi’s memories attached to the key, I came to know about the door that could allow me to enter Derek’s personal palace. There, I was also expecting to find some clue about who had Derek reincarnated into.
[Zeve’s POV]“Check mate,” Amor said.“Oh man! I lost again!” Ez ruffled his hair, looking at the chess pieces in front of him.Amor sat leisurely, folding his hand across his chest.“You are only concentrating on your strategies, but you should also be able to comprehend what your opponent is thinking and then make probabilities. Chess is a lot more than just being good with your pieces. You will win once you can play the game not just with your pawns, but with the pawns of your opponent as well.”Ez dropped his head on the table. “All my life was a lie. I want a refund from life.”Amor laughed. “Keep playing. One
[Amor’s POV]More than a week has passed since I returned to Arginieth. I had been having dreams of bright light every night. But that wasn't a bother because somehow I felt I was a part of that light. I was that light. But reality seemed darker than my dreams.I don’t know why I thought it would be a good idea to have a coming of age party for Celeste. I just wanted to change the environment of the palace that had been unbearably heavy for three years. Jade’s death, Yule’s disappearance, and Zeve’s decision to leave the pack saturated the gloom looming over the palace.I thought it was time Celeste socialised with the other kids of the nobles and made friends of her age, so I invited them to the party, but I think I was wrong about it all. Maybe I should have given Celeste more time. After a lot of coaxing from mother and aunt Lozbi, Celeste was ready to attend the party, yet she clearly looked upset.Celeste entered the party hall dressed as a boy. That was enough to create a seve
[Zeve’s POV]There was forever in those portraits, and the love Amor had poured into them was glittering brighter than the paint. All my nude portraits had a translucent robe covering my body, although it barely hid anything. In one portrait, I was lying on my stomach on a messy bed with my head propped on my hand. Another had me posing on a sofa with my legs drawn to my chest.Another had me lying on the bed in a red dress that had slid down from my chest to my waist. My one hand covered my breasts while the other was tucked between my legs. One had me completely naked against the wall with my hands slithered over one another as if someone had pinned my hands over my head against the wall. All my portraits had me in messy hair stuck all over my body with my white strands fluttering gracefully.I was awestruck by how realistic those portraits looked. It was as if I was seeing the perfect version of myself in a mirror.I am so pretty, I thought, gaping at my portraits.I didn’t know
[Zeve’s POV]“... that’s how LKS was formed, luna. The only wing of the army that is created for female werewolves. From the time this was announced, we have got thousands of applicants from all over Arginieth. All the five members who got trained by sensei Hikari have designed a training regime for the recruits, which included the balanced combination of the Kazumi skills and normal combat with swords and rifles.” Lexi said, brushing my hair.“I understand. But Lexi, shouldn’t you be at the LKS headquarters? Why are you serving as my maid again? You have a greater responsibility,” I said.Lexi smiled at me through the reflection of the mirror, “you are right, luna, but serving you is my foremost duty. The same is for Vance and the others. If it wasn’t for you, I wouldn’t have even thought of reaching where I am today. Above all, alpha wanted everything like it was before you left, so I can’t really go against his will.”She looked more excited than before. Lucy and the other maids lo
[Zeve’s POV]Ian was brought into the isolation chamber attached to the courtroom where I read his memories. The memories he had of the time at the party were completely messed up. They were anything but normal memories. I could easily tell that there was an outer interference with his thoughts during that time.I checked Vin’s and Liam’s memories too and found the same pattern of external interference with their thoughts, but that didn’t mean everything they did was because of complete external interference. The external energy influenced them only after the thought of bullying Celeste originated in their minds.Knights took the three outside the room. Amor and I were the only ones in the room.“So, how was it?” Amor asked. “It was Derek. There was an external influence on their minds that catalysed the process of turning their thoughts into action. But the three of them thought of hurting Celeste first, then there was the external factor that turned those thoughts into this whole s
[Zeve’s POV]After the tea party, I went back to the training grounds where Hecate was still with Killian. They were just sitting on a wooden bench with a towel around each of their necks.“Celeste,” I called out. She looked back and then got up, and so did Killian.“Lady Zeve,” Hecate said. “Pardon me. It’s Luna now, I suppose.” I smiled, “are you Celeste or Hecate?” I asked.“Hecate, your highness. Celeste needs some time,” Hecate said nervously.“Were you practising with Killian?” I asked, looking at Killian. He lowered his gaze and nodded once.“I will take my leave now, luna,” Killian said.“No. No need. You can stay here,” I said with a smile. “Since you are her friend, I think you know her much better than I do. So, please stay. She will be at ease if you do, isn’t it, Hecate?” I asked.“Uh, yeah. I think it would be better with you here,” she said, looking at Killian.“If that’s what you and luna want,” Killian said. He wiped off the bench with his towel. “Please sit, luna.”
