Alpha Ron Jaxon

Alpha Ron Jaxon, leader of the Blue Crescent Pack—the strongest in California—was growing desperate to find his mate. Without a Luna, his position as Alpha became more precarious by the day.

His father never missed an opportunity to remind him.

“What do you want, Dad?” I sighed, barely looking up from my desk.

“You know exactly what I want.”

I clenched my jaw. “If I haven’t found my mate yet, then it’s not time.” My voice was edged with frustration—I’d said the same thing a hundred times.

This time, my father didn’t argue. He just studied me for a moment before walking out, leaving behind the weight of unspoken expectations.

What was the point of leading the strongest pack if all anyone ever asked was whether I’d found my Luna?

Yes, I wanted to find her too. She would be the one person to love me unconditionally, and there wasn’t a wolf alive who wouldn’t want that. But I couldn’t force fate.

Even my pack was getting restless. Without a Luna, they felt incomplete. But none of them were as anxious as I was.

A mind-link from my Beta, Turner, pulled me from my thoughts. Alpha, patrol is ready to begin.

“I’ll be there.”

I didn’t need to join the patrols, not as Alpha. But I welcomed the distraction.

By the time I reached the border, Turner was already waiting. He nodded in respect before speaking.

“Knew I’d find you here.”

I smirked. “You know me too well.”

“I heard your father stopped by. Still on the same topic?” he asked, concern in his voice.

I let out a low growl. “What else? It’s like he doesn’t have anything to say to me unless it involves my mate.”

Turner chuckled. “He just wants the best for you. And the pack believes a Luna completes us.”

“They can believe whatever the hell they want. That won’t make her magically appear in front of me, now will it?”

Turner gave me a knowing look but didn’t push further. A mind-link interrupted us, calling him back to the pack house.

“I’ll check in later,” he said before shifting into his wolf and taking off.

I continued toward the border, letting my thoughts drift—until suddenly, everything changed.

A scent hit me like a bolt of lightning.

Vanilla. Soft, sweet, and utterly unique. It was intoxicating. My wolf, who had been restless for months, howled in pure joy.

Mate.

I froze.

Just ahead, standing at the edge of my territory, was a figure with her back turned to me.

I took a step forward, heart pounding in my chest. But then, beneath her alluring scent, I caught something else—faint, but unmistakable.

A rogue.

I clenched my fists. My mate is a rogue?

The thought made no sense. Rogues were dangerous, unpredictable, and usually exiled for a reason. But my wolf didn’t care. He wanted to claim her.

Cautiously, I approached.

She must have sensed me, because she turned—and when our eyes met, my world shifted.

Her blue eyes were the color of the ocean, striking and deep. I had never seen anyone like her. She was breathtaking.

My mate.

Mine.

I could see the realization dawn in her eyes as well. She stared at me, unsure, hesitant.

Slowly, I reached out, my hand brushing against her cheek.

“What’s your name?”

She blinked, as if unsure I was speaking to her. Then, barely above a whisper, she said, “Rexxona.”

I repeated her name, savoring the sound. My wolf basked in the moment, reveling in the connection.

“Finally,” I murmured under my breath.

She opened her mouth to say something, but I interrupted.

“Save it for when we get back to the pack house, dear.”

She stiffened slightly, but I didn’t let go of her. Instead, I mind-linked my pack.

Our Luna has arrived.

The response was instant—pure, unrestrained joy rippling through the bond.

Rexxona POV:

Finding my mate wasn’t part of my plan.

And finding him here? That sure as hell wasn’t expected.

I had come to the Blue Crescent Pack for one reason—to find the book that could tell me what I was. And now, instead of sneaking around, I was being led straight to their pack house like a lovestruck girl following her crush.

Way to go, Rex, I muttered under my breath.

Yes, I was happy to have found my mate. Maron would be ecstatic.

But this was the worst timing ever.

You need to gain his trust, Rex, my wolf, Ria, whispered in my mind. The book is here. And the pack elders may know more about your powers. If you play this right, he will help you.

I swallowed hard.

For once, I agreed with her.

I just prayed everything would go well.

The grand pack house loomed over me, its sheer size making me feel small. The moment we stepped inside, I could feel dozens of eyes on me. Whispers filled the air, wolves murmuring to each other about their Alpha’s newly found mate.

Ron kept a firm hand on my lower back, guiding me through the main hall, his touch both protective and possessive. I could feel his tension—he had questions.

As soon as we reached the staircase leading to the upper floors, he finally spoke.

“You’re a rogue.” It wasn’t a question.

I stiffened but met his gaze. “Yes.”

His jaw clenched. “Why?”

I exhaled, gripping the stair’s railing. “I’ll tell you in due time.”

His expression darkened, but he didn’t push. “I’ll hold you to that, mate.”

The way he said mate sent a shiver through me. His wolf was close to the surface, restless.

We continued up the stairs, the silence stretching between us. When we reached the highest floor, he led me into a spacious room. It smelled like him—earthy, masculine, with a hint of something uniquely Ron.

“This is my room.” His voice was softer now, almost hesitant.

I glanced around. The room was massive, decorated in dark tones with a king-sized bed against the far wall. Floor-to-ceiling windows overlooked the pack’s training grounds.

“You’ll stay here,” he said, watching for my reaction.

My lips parted in surprise. “With you?”

His golden eyes flashed. “Of course. You’re my mate.”

I swallowed hard. This was happening too fast. I had come here for a book, for answers—not to be pulled into some whirlwind romance with the Alpha of the strongest pack in California.

Sensing my hesitation, Ron took a step back. “Get some rest. I have things to take care of.”

And just like that, he was gone.

The moment I was alone, I couldn’t sit still. There was too much at stake.

I slipped out of the room, moving quietly down the hall. If I was lucky, I could find the library before Ron returned.

The pack house was enormous, but instinct led me where I needed to go. At the end of a long corridor, I found a heavy wooden door.

I pushed it open.

Rows upon rows of books lined the walls, stretching toward the ceiling. It smelled of parchment and ink—old knowledge.

I scanned the titles, searching desperately. Then, finally, I saw it.

The Book of the Ancients.

My hands trembled as I pulled it from the shelf. Maron had been right—it existed. The answers to my past, to my power, were in my grasp.

I pressed the book against my chest, ready to leave. But the moment I stepped into the hallway, I sensed them.

A group of warriors stood at the pack grounds below, their eyes narrowing the second they spotted me.

“Intruder!” one barked.

I tucked the book behind me, heart pounding.

“Identify yourself!”

I didn’t respond. I couldn’t. If they found out I had taken something from their sacred library, I wouldn’t make it out of here.

Their hesitation lasted only a second before they moved in, forming a tight circle around me.

“Mind-link the Alpha,” one growled.

Panic clawed at my throat. This was bad. Really bad.

Within moments, I felt his presence.

Ron.

He stormed into the clearing, golden eyes glowing with raw authority. The warriors stepped aside, bowing their heads in deference.

“What the hell is going on?” his voice was sharp, commanding.

“She refused to identify herself, Alpha,” one of them explained. “And she was sneaking around.”

Ron’s gaze snapped to me. His eyes darted to the way I clutched something behind my back.

“Rexxona,” he said slowly. “What did you do?”

I opened my mouth to explain—to lie—but before I could, one of the warriors lunged.

I never got the chance to think.

The surge of power came without warning, rushing through my veins like fire. A violent pulse of energy exploded from my body, sending two warriors flying backward.

They hit the ground hard. And didn’t get up.

Dead.

The scent of blood filled the air.

Silence.

I looked at my hands in horror, the green energy still flickering at my fingertips.

The warriors around me recoiled, eyes wide with terror.

Ron… didn’t move.

I turned to him, my voice shaking. “I didn’t mean to—”

“Enough.”

His voice was like ice.

Then, in front of his entire pack, he uttered the words that shattered me.

“I, Alpha Ron Jaxon, reject you as my mate.”

The world tilted.

Pain, raw and unforgiving, tore through my chest.

I gasped, clutching at my heart as the mate bond severed.

And I collapsed to the floor.

The moment the words left my mouth, Rexxona collapsed to her knees. Her pain was visceral, slamming into me like a blade straight to the chest. Rejection could destroy a she-wolf—I knew that. But what I didn’t expect was for Rexxona to lift her head, her eyes burning with a mix of heartbreak and defiance. She didn’t scream. She didn’t plead. She just ran. Shock rooted me in place for half a second before instinct kicked in. “Don’t let her escape!” I barked at my warriors. Even as my wolf howled in protest, I chased after her. I told myself it was for the pack—that her powers were unpredictable, that we needed answers. But deep down, I knew the truth. I couldn’t bear to let her go. The rejection had been a moment of desperation, a way to calm my pack. At least, that’s what I told myself as I ran after her. Rexxona POV: My heart felt like it was shattering with every step, but I didn’t stop. The pack I had fought to survive in now hunted me like a fugitive. The mate I was destin

"I need help." Those were the only words I could force out. The girl in front of me frowned, her brows knitting together as if expecting more. But I had nothing else to say. So I said it again. "I really need help." I was a rogue, a lone wolf, and I had stumbled into this pack's territory looking for refuge—just for a little while. I just needed a place to rest, to gather my strength. I prayed she could help. Her expression softened as she studied me, concern flickering in her eyes. I must have looked awful—filthy, exhausted, desperate. Finally, after what felt like forever, she spoke. "I think I can help," she said slowly. "But first... do you mind telling me your name?" I hesitated before answering. "Rex… Rexxona." "Alright, Rex," she said with a grin, as if we were already friends. "Not to brag or anything, but my brother is the Alpha of this pack—Alpha Aries. And this is the Awoke Pack, in case you were wondering. I think I can pull a few strings for you." Internally, I

Alpha Aries POV: Her introduction was powerful just like her presence. "I’m Rexxona. Nice to meet you, Alpha Aries." She dipped her head slightly, a respectful bow. I was taken aback by her boldness but masked it immediately. I was Alpha, after all. Before I could respond, Rose spoke up. "She’s a rogue seeking refuge. She asked me for help, so I thought I’d bring her to you for permission." Rexxona quickly added, "I’m sorry for intruding, but this was the nearest pack I could find." There was something about the way she spoke—calm, controlled. Not like a desperate rogue pleading for shelter. There was a quiet strength in her posture, something unspoken in her gaze. It unsettled me. "Give me a minute," I muttered, grabbing Rose by the arm and pulling her aside. "You know nothing about her, and you want me to just let her stay?" My voice was firm, low enough so Rexxona wouldn’t hear. "She could be a threat to our pack for all we know." "I know, I know," Rose whispered

Rexxona’s POVA soft knock at the door pulled me from the depths of sleep. My body felt heavy, my mind groggy, and for a brief moment, I forgot where I was. Then it all came rushing back—Jaxon’s rejection, the chase, my desperate escape, and my arrival in the Awoke Pack."Rex? Are you awake?"Rose’s voice was bright and cheerful, oblivious to the storm inside me. I forced myself up, shaking off the lingering haze of exhaustion."Yeah, just give me a second," I called back, quickly pulling on the fresh clothes she left me the night before. When I opened the door, she was beaming as usual. "Good morning! Alpha Aries has called for a pack meeting, and—" she clapped her hands together, eyes twinkling "—you’re the guest of honor!"My stomach dropped. A rogue as the guest of honor? That could only mean one thing—he was officially introducing me to the pack.I nodded, trying to hide my nerves. "Give me a minute to get ready."Internally, I was panicking. By the time Rose showed me to my room, exhaustion weighed me down like a boulder. After the tension of the meeting, her bubbly chatter was oddly comforting, even if I barely had the energy to respond."You’ll be safe here," she said with a reassuring smile. "Just try to keep a low profile for now, okay? And let me know if you need anything."I nodded, murmuring a quiet thank you as she left. The moment the door shut, I collapsed onto the bed, letting out a long breath. But before I could fully relax, the book came to mind. Its presence beneath my mattress was both a comfort and a burden, a secret pressing against my conscience.I reached down and pulled it out, my fingers running over its worn leather cover. My heart pounded with anticipation. What are you hiding? As I flipped it open, the first page was ordinary enough—faded ink in a language I didn’t recognize. But the moment my fingertips brushed against the words, a strange warmth spread through my skin. The ink began to glow fain

Sunlight streamed through the window, warming my skin as I stretched, my muscles aching from yesterday’s tension. The weight of my new reality settled over me, but I shoved it aside. Today was my first day of training with the Awoke Pack. I needed to prove I belonged—even if I technically didn’t After a quick shower, I pulled on the workout clothes Rose had left for me. To say I was nervous would be an understatement. I had no idea how this pack trained. Hell, I had no idea how any pack trained. Rogues didn’t get the luxury of structured training. But I knew how to fight. Maron had made sure of that. The real question was whether my skills would be enough here. Exhaling sharply, I shook off the doubt and headed downstairs—only to find the pack house eerily empty. Shit. I was late. Panic surged through me, and I was about to bolt for the door when I spotted Rose outside, arms folded, waiting. "Are you waiting for someone?" I asked, masking my concern. Rose grinned. "I’m waiti

The training ground fell silent as Rose and Lily stepped into the center of the ring. A faint breeze rustled the surrounding trees, carrying the scent of earth and pine, but all attention remained locked on the two she-wolves standing opposite each other. Rose rolled her shoulders, exhaling sharply as she settled into a fighting stance. Her muscles tensed with anticipation, her amber eyes locked onto Lily’s. Across from her, Lily stood poised and composed, her expression unreadable. Unlike Rose, there was no nervous energy in her stance—just pure, effortless confidence. Phillip stepped forward, his voice firm. "Ready?" Both girls gave a sharp nod. "Begin!" Lily moved first, a blur of motion as she closed the distance between them. Rose barely had time to react before Lily’s fist shot toward her ribs. Instinct took over—she twisted, dodging just in time, but Lily was relentless. A sharp kick followed, aimed at her knee. Rose barely managed to sidestep, but the force of the

Aries’ POV The moment Phillip called the match, Lisa attacked. She was fast—calculated, aggressive. A fighter trained in this pack’s combat style, skilled in overpowering her opponents before they even had a chance to react. But Rexxona… She didn’t get overwhelmed. She didn’t panic. She moved. Every dodge, every shift in her stance—it was fluid, controlled. Effortless. Like she’d done this a thousand times before. Lisa snarled in frustration as her flurry of punches failed to connect. Adjusting her stance, she launched a spinning kick toward Rexxona’s ribs—a powerful move, one that should have landed. Instead, Rexxona twisted at the last second, letting the attack graze past her. In a seamless motion, she caught Lisa’s extended leg and used her own momentum against her, forcing her off balance. Lisa stumbled. The crowd murmured in shock. Lisa never stumbled. Phillip’s expression hardened, but he remained silent, watching. Lisa growled, her face twisting with frustration.

  • Rejected mythical Luna   Unspeakable Truth

To say my night was actually used for sleeping would be doing a disservice to the very concept of sleep. And I wouldn’t want to insult the people who actually got some. My entire night was consumed by thoughts. Thoughts about her. What exactly was I thinking? I had no clue. All I knew was that my mind couldn’t stop drifting to her. I needed to figure out these feelings—fast. I had tried to kiss her. That alone meant I owed her an explanation when I saw her again. But what did I actually feel for her? That part, I still couldn’t put my finger on. All I was sure of was this—if we had kissed, truly kissed, I wouldn’t have regretted a single second of it. And that realization? It shook me to my core. Before I knew it, morning had arrived—and I still didn’t have answers. Being indecisive wasn’t like me, but I couldn’t help it this time. I dragged myself out of bed and stared at the guy in the mirror. “Way to go, Aries,” I muttered. “You totally pull off the zombie look.” With a shak

The sun peeping through the curtains did nothing to ease the anxiety twisting in my stomach. Every part of me wanted to curl back under the covers and pretend last night never happened. Pretend I didn’t nearly kiss Aries—the Alpha of the Awoke pack. Not just some guy… Aries. The worst part? I wasn’t sure if I wanted to avoid it—or do it all over again. After what felt like an hour of overthinking, I finally dragged myself out of bed. Maybe I could skip training with Julian and avoid the awkwardness. But of course, my legs had other plans. They carried me straight to the bathroom, right into my training clothes, and toward the door. Where was my willpower when I needed it?Julian had insisted we start training immediately. He wanted to be the first to witness my “cool powers.” So dramatic.I took a deep breath and stepped out of my room. The stairs creaked beneath my feet as I made my way down, nerves building with every step. I had to pass by Aries’s office to get to the training grou

Watching Aries’s face inch closer to mine sparked a feeling I couldn’t even begin to describe. All the fear, doubt, and confusion I had been carrying melted away the moment he stepped into the room. Just a few words from him, and I believed—really believed—that everything would be okay. That he’d stand by me. So I didn’t move away. Instead, my grip on his arm tightened, bracing myself for what was about to happen.Without realizing it, I closed my eyes, my heart racing in sync with his. As someone who had never kissed anyone before, I should have been nervous, but I wasn’t. I knew he’d guide me. I could already feel his breath mingling with mine. His heartbeat thundered, fast and intense. Then, just when our lips were about to meet-bam! The door flew open.We immediately jolted apart, each moving to our own side of the couch like guilty teenagers caught in the act.“Rex!!!” came a voice I’d recognize even in my sleep. What happened hours ago refused to leave my mind. I kept replaying it, trying to come up with a reasonable explanation for what Rex did—but nothing made sense.Seeing her display that much strength… Enough to lift an Alpha like he was a rag doll? That wasn’t just unusual—it was impossible. Or at least it should’ve been. The moment Rose and her mother led her out of the arena, I was going to follow—but I knew I had to deal with Ron first.“Julian,” I called out, only to realize he was frozen in place, eyes wide with disbelief. “Julian!” I said again, placing a hand on his shoulder. That finally pulled him out of it.“What the hell did I just see?” he asked, still dazed.“Not now, man,” I said, nodding toward Ron, who was still on the floor surrounded by his pack members. “We have to handle this first.”Without hesitation, I turned to Regal, who stood pale and silent. “Get your Alpha some help. My Beta will escort you out of my territory. We’ll provide transportation, so you don’t have

To say my mind was in the right place when I put Ron in his place would be a huge lie. My thoughts were a mess, and Ria had completely taken over. The rage was loud, clear, and honestly—justified. As much as I hated the way Ron spoke to Aries, I wouldn’t have exposed that much strength in front of a crowd. Not like that. I could feel Rose trying to pull me back, trying to stop me—but I just couldn’t let go. Not until I heard her voice. Maron. She pulled me back. Out of Ria’s grip and straight into the reality of what I’d just done. I was sure my eyes had changed—maybe even glowed—and without hesitation, Rose shielded me, Maron flanking my other side. Together, they led me out of the meeting room. I messed up. This is all your fault, I snapped at Ria. You might be able to tolerate that kind of insult, but I can’t, she hissed back. No one gets to speak to us like that and walk away. And just like that, she retreated—leaving me alone with the aftermath. I didn’t resist

The meeting started sooner than I had expected, but the moment the Alphas were all present in the room, I instantly mindlinked Julian to inform Rex. I hope their plan works smoothly, I thought as I brought my focus back to the meeting at hand. I was half-expecting someone to question the clash between Ron and me the previous day, but I guess he came up with some lame excuse—no one said a word.Thankfully, he remained quiet the entire meeting, so everything went smoothly. We were just about to wrap things up when my mom mindlinked me: Maron has been brought to her, and the spell is broken.I was ecstatic. All that was left now was for them all to leave so we could finally get back to our lives.“That concludes the meeting of the Association,” Alpha Levon spoke, rising from his seat. “Thanks, Alpha Aries, for the hospitality. We shall not forget it.”“It was my pleasure to host the Association,” I replied firmly, leading them out of the room. But as we stepped out, there was some commot

“We need a third person,” she said, then disappeared for a moment. When she came back, she wasn’t alone. A boy I didn’t recognize was with her. “Who’s he?” I asked, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t worry about it,” she said, still smiling. “Now, Danny, remember what I asked you to say?” “I dooo, Rose,” he groaned. “Just have my pay ready.” And with that, he strutted toward the room we’d just left. Rose and I followed quietly, hiding behind the nearest wall that could give us some cover. Danny knocked. The same woman from before answered, just as cold and stern. “What do you want?” she asked. “The Alpha’s asked to see you—and the lady,” Danny said, smooth as butter. “Both of us?” she asked, suspicious. “Yes,” he replied. “I don’t know what it’s about. I’m not from your pack, so I can’t question your Alpha. Just delivering the message.” She paused for a second, then nodded. “We’ll be on our way.” “You’re to meet him outside the meeting room,” Danny added, then casual

Rex's POV Falling asleep that night was harder than I expected. I guess the adrenaline of what tomorrow could bring just wouldn’t let my mind rest. But eventually, after tossing and turning, I found enough peace to drift off. That’s when the dream hit me.It was about the book. The symbol on its cover came to life, glowing and pulsing, whispering over and over—“It’s almost time.” Time for what? It wouldn’t say. That phrase kept echoing until I jolted awake, heart pounding, sweat clinging to my skin. Morning had arrived. Only one thought circled in my head—I needed to find someone who could understand the book. Fast. And the first person that came to mind was Aries’ mom. But first… I had more urgent matters to handle. Maron. I got up and headed to the bathroom, preparing myself for what I knew wouldn’t be an easy day. By the time I stepped out, Rose was sprawled across my bed like she lived there. “You’re here early,” I said, towel-drying my hair. “Well, we’ve got

Hearing Rex talk about her mom after everything she’d been through with Ron made my blood boil. I didn’t know why, but I had the urge to punch him all over again—like once hadn’t been enough. Yeah, I’d been eavesdropping. But in my defense, she just wouldn’t stop talking long enough for me to announce myself. And the more she spoke, the more I knew I had to help her. My mom could definitely figure out what Ron had done to Maron. As soon as I left Rose’s room, I mind-linked Julian. "Meet me in my office. Now." "Alright," came the short reply. Minutes later, I heard the door creak open. Julian strolled in and flopped onto the couch like it was his own. “What’s up?” he asked casually. “I need you to investigate something. It’s about Rex.” He sat up immediately, all traces of relaxation gone. “What about her?” “I heard from Rose that you’re aware of her history with Ron.” “Yeah… that jerk.
