ANNA KYLIN CHESTER

THE DAY PASSED very slowly. Clouds were heavy and gray like it was mourning with the pack. I had a late breakfast with Reine after the first ceremony. I was still angry with Marcus and even more with my sister. I was angry at the deaths of innocent people. I was angry that Rick was too blind and nonchalant to see the obvious; he and my sister were running my father's pack to the ground.

"We cut bond with the pack years ago," Ava said softly in my head. "Our family is in the mountain Alps of Alaska." I sighed and nodded. She was right, of course. But I could not help the feeling of despair and hurt I felt towards the situation of the pack.

And I missed my children too. I sighed in frustration.

"Do you need to sleep, Luna?" Reine stood at the door.

I shook my head. "No, I'm fine," I muttered, but I wasn't fine.

"Let me put on a kettle for tea. It can help with the nerves," She said, hurrying into the kitchen.
