The thing is... I miss my mom.

My heart raced as I grabbed my jacket, my hands trembling with a mix of bursting emotions and anxiety.

The urge to go back to the city where humans still thrived was overwhelming. It had been so long since I'd been among them, since I'd felt the pulse of life that only a bustling city could offer.
