Hazel began crying in front of me, which only confirmed her guilt for what she had done.

My anger towards her was palpable. "Why did you do it?"

"I was jealous of you and him! You two were so close!" she admitted.

"But that doesn't give you the right to betray me, Hazel!" I shouted at her.

Advancing a step, I declared, "You are my best friend. I trusted you with my life, yet you betrayed that trust! You exposed my traumatic experiences through a tabloid!"

"I'm sorry, okay?!" She sobbed, wiping her tears away. "I didn't mean to! I was just so consumed by jealousy and hatred for you!"

"I thought you were my friend," I murmured, bowing my head, no longer able to face her words.

Now, she glared at me. "I thought the same! You knew I liked Professor Evan, yet you tried to take him from me!"

I was taken aback by her accusation. "I wasn't taking him from you, Hazel! Was he even yours to begin with?"

She looked wounded by my response. "I hate you so much I wish you were dead, Nathalie
