Moist air breezed past Lucius nose as he leaned lightly on the old frail bridge rails. He was alert avoiding placing much of his weight on the rail lest the weak thing break apart. He felt his hand getting chill. Luckily he had grabbed a pair of hand gloves on his way out. So he just took them out and wore. After another couple of minutes, he glanced at his wrist watch and sighed softly. He should leave now. Amaya wasn't coming. He swallowed painfully. The seer had said it was useless getting her to his side now as her powers have been unlocked the moment she saved Damian’s life. But now he genuinely wanted her beside him. He didn't know how it happened. To deceive her and make her come to him had always been the case for him. But now he wanted her. He needed her. Safe to say he had fallen for her. He chuckled sadly at himself. He never knew he would become this way. He would never have thought. She changed him. He couldn't say if it was the times he spent with her that caused it or
Damian was staring out the window but then suddenly halted at the sight of Amaya. She seemed to be headed towards the mansion woods. His breath hitched for a moment and his heart skipped a beat as though something deep within him recognized her. A subtle tension arose in his chest. He watched her, plenty of questions forming in his head. He realized that as he watched her, an inexplicable flutter danced around his chest. Like a long lost familiarity trying to resurface. It was very strange— why his gaze lingered longer than it should on a woman he didn't remember, why he was drawn to her with a strange pull he couldn't rationalize. He was certain he had no memory of her at least that was what his blank memory of her suggested. However, despite his mind rejecting the connection, the uneasy feeling mixed with unspoken longing left him confused and conflicted at the same time. “What are you staring at so intently?” Raze asked, poking his head to look out the window. “Lady Amaya! Do yo
“Who else would it be but her. She is so scary,” Oliver interjected, shaking his head. Damian signalled that they find out what was happening outside. But before Oliver could get to the door, the door slammed open and Amaya charged in.She went straight to where Damian sat, chest heaving. “Do you really remember nothing about me?” she asked, steadying her gasps. “You can't barge in here! Take her away!” Nelly equally dashed in and commanded the guards. As the guards reached to drag Amaya away, Damian who was still recovering from Amaya's sudden entrance raised a hand ordering the guards to seize. “Alpha Damian…” Nelly tried to protest. “It's alright, Nelly,” he called calmly before focusing on Amaya again. “Let’s hear it. What is it that you wish to say badly that made you barge into here?”Amaya inhaled deeply. Her chest still raised slightly from the run she did from the woods down there. She had rushed in at the spur, her mouth filled with a lot to say. “Do you really remember n
2 DAYS TO WARThe telephone in Amaya's room beeped, startling her in her deep thoughts. She stared at it but did not go over quickly to pick it. When the telephone began to ring the second time, she sluggishly picked herself from the bed with a sigh and walked towards it. But the phone stopped ringing as she arrived. A message followed. It was a woman’s voice telling her to meet someone by name Lucius who had something urgent to tell her. At first, she stopped to ponder on the message. Why would Lucius have someone else deliver a message to her? The sense of urgency in the message disturbed her. It sounded as if there was trouble. She picked up a shawl and headed out. On her way out she met Nelly who frowned and looked away as soon as she saw her. Amaya did not understand the sudden hate from Nelly. Ever since Damian lost his memory, she'd changed towards her and she just couldn't explain why. “I want to step out,” she told her. Nelly shrugged without a word. Seeing she was bound
“My Alpha, you should see this…” Raze charged up from his seat and hurried over to Damian's desk with the phone. Damian’s eyebrows gathered thickly as he looked at the image on the phone. “Isn't this Amaya?” Oliver asked with a gasp equally taking a look. “Check if she is in her room,” Damian ordered, getting up, alert. Nelly happened to be coming in at the same time as Raze made to dash out. “She is not in her room,” she said stiffly. “Then that means she is the one.”“What one?” Nelly asked with disinterest but then a look at the men and she smelt trouble. She snatched the phone from Raze's hand and looked. Her face tightened. “And so, what do you intend to do?” At the same moment, the phone began to ring. Damain answered the call. “Don't hide like a fool. You made a big mouth about having the advantage. How dare you kidnap someone to threaten me?”“Who are you talking about?” the voice said from the other end. “Lucius…quit being a sissy,” Damian fumed. “Who is Lucius?” asked
Damian steered his car to a slow stop in front of the cafè. As he wound down the window uncertain of his next move, a message popped into the phone beside him. “Follow your right and drive until I say stop.” The message read. He groaned, furious at everything. To think that some bunch of idiots were controlling him made him want to choke with fury. He swore to end their lives after Amaya was rescued safely. Now he was almost on the outskirts of Craven town. He had followed every instruction they gave. He almost began to question the accuracy of the whole thing. Then another message entered.“Get down from the car and walk towards the house you will see.” Again he obeyed. It was a straight road covered on both sides by some trees and grasses untended to. The deeper he walked the road, the more suspicious it all got. His boot stomped on a rock he hadn't seen. He cussed, biting back the sharp pain. “Alpha Damian!” He heard his name and halted. Through the corner of his eye, he caught
“Come on I will drop you off,” Lucius said and opened the car door. Amaya was surprised. “You will drive me to Emperor mansion?” He grinned. “Yes. You don't think I can?”“I mean, you just declared war. Is it okay to be there?”“Don't worry. Everything will be alright.”“If you say so,” she uttered as she entered reluctantly. The drive back was quiet. Lucius kept his eyes on the road. However his heart raced. Amaya was bound to know everything soon. What would her reaction be?Watching Lucius drive confidently past the gates of Emperor mansion made Amaya begin to wonder. She noticed a different set of guards were at the gate, wanted to question but swallowed back her words. “I guess I will find out when I get back,” she thought. The guards were gathered in large numbers in front of the meeting building. Lucius pulled up in front and stopped the car. As Amaya stepped down she saw Raze and Oliver kneeling down, swords aimed at their necks. Her legs picked up speed. “What is going
While the big meeting hall echoed and shook from the booming laughter of men, Alpha Lucius had his beauty sleep. He may be an Alpha but he knew he still needed rest and had specifically warned to not be awoken unless for an emergency. Now that he had conquered his worst enemy and Amaya was with him, well, partly, he might as well sleep the sleep he had deprived himself of for many years. As soon as he woke up, all he thought about was Amaya. When he brought her into the Alpha’s quarters, she had run into the bedroom and locked the room. All his efforts to get her to open the door failed. Sighing , he pushed aside the duvet he’d borrowed from Raze and strode to the bedroom door.“Amaya, open the door. You need to eat something at least,” he called. A knock sounded on the main door halting him. It turned out to be one of the guards who had come to inform him of the ongoing jubilation in the meeting hall. Lucius frowned. “Party in the hall? Who authorized such a party?” “Beta Tommy
AMAYA'S POV Lucius got Westwood back as Damian promised him. A few days after that, he came to see me. “I know I'm a coward for saying this now…but actually I had used your friend to fool you.”“I know.”He was surprised at first but smiled a sad smile. “It would be weird if you didn't know, right?”“I'm sorry, Amaya. I was foolish and a coward. I should never have treated you the way I did. What sort of a bastard sold his mate to save his head?” He sighed painfully. “Do you know? I hated you way before I found out you were my mate…but I was willing to make things work for that simple fact.”He sighed and bent his head. “But you don't have to feel bad about anything now. I'm in a much better place now and it's all thanks to you.”Before he left, we broke our mate bond and rejected each other. A wave of freedom rushed through me at that point. I wondered if this was what it meant for two mates to reject themselves and not the rejection being one sided. I wished him well. He was a m
Tommy fled. Behind the market. To the place he'd told the men he borrowed from Alpha Kael and Alpha Blackridge to wait for him. “Warriors! Position, now!” He roared. No man showed. He roared again. And again. Still no man showed. He looked around to be met with silence and desolation. The weapons were lying around with no man to claim them. He ran to the shed. Their belongings were gone. To his shocking discovery, he realized the men had disappeared. He cussed and his body clenched. “You must be looking for the men you borrowed, huh?” Damian spoke. They were behind Tommy. Some meters away. Tommy looked behind him, the people that wanted him dead had caught up with him. Then to his right, towards the uncompleted building where Lyra, Alpha Kael and Alpha Blackridge were tied. To flee or to take his revenge? If he lost Lyra, he would never get Damian again and he needed to kill Kael and Blackridge for deceiving him. But he was not sure of making it out alive. Fleeing would cost his
Tommy laughed. “I knew it. A bitch like you can't be trusted.”“Neither a monster like you.” Nelo retorted as she aimed the shining dagger at him. She'd specially sharpened the edges. She wanted every pierce of it to be nothing but torture to him. “Do you think you will survive? Look around. There are hundreds of people here but no one is watching.” Tommy gestured as he took a glance around. “I don't need their help. You are dying by my hands today.” Nelo clenched. Tommy stopped, his face hardening. He would not be blamed. He gave her a lot of chances but she blew it. He did not have any intention of harming her. He admitted she was helpful not just as a spy but in giving him pleasure. She was the best he had. And for that, he would not let her die by his hands. But she was getting on his last nerves now and he didn't have that time to be patient. Damian would be arriving soon and his trap was only halfway done. “Drop the dagger and we will talk,” he warned. “I am done talking to
>>>“Nelo.” Nelo heard her name and froze. It was not Tommy's voice and she knew. Before she could turn, a thick black bag covered her face with a part of it shoved into her mouth. Two hands dragged her away. For seconds she struggled to free herself.“Damn you Tommy!” She muffled. After a while, she quit struggling and rode with the stride. Whatever happened, she was determined to end everything today. She felt her cloth and seeing that what she kept there was intact, she tightened her resolve. She heard a door creak open. Her blindfold was taken off and she saw herself inside a shop. A pretty much empty shop with a few fabrics hanging around. Her eyes danced as her mind swirled with thoughts. Why would Tommy bring her into a shop? All the memories of when he'd made her go to a secluded place just so he'd have his way with her flashed her head. For a moment images blurred and her head dizzied. Until she heard the voice of her captor. “Bitch.”He
D-DAYNelo waited to get eyes off her. She'd noticed Nelly was shooting fierce looks like her. But that was normal. She was just an obsessed psycho who hadn't gotten a touch of her real self yet. But that was not it. Amaya had been acting strange too. Which was worrisome. She decided she'd trash it out with her, whatever it was, as soon as returned from seeing Tommy. Tommy asked to meet up. Of course no one in her shoes would have agreed to meet a man that was in the hunting book of Damian. A man that was a horror to her But as he'd always done, Tommy had threatened her. He'd sworn to never let her be free. How much longer would he use her?Reporting Damian’s movement wasn't enough and now he wanted to meet her. Her body stiffened as the memories flooded in. His hands on her, the feel of him inside her. She hated that he used her as much as he pleased and hated herself for offering herself to him. She was disgusted every time he touched her, every single time he spun her and rammed
“You won't be going.”Damian was startled by a voice as he dropped the call. Without turning, his senses provided him the answer. “I have to save her and stop that bastard from hurting more people,” he said as he finally turned around. Nelly flared up. “No. You won't. Why would you save someone like her? She betrayed you!”“You don't know for sure. Those words came from Nello. She is not the most innocent person. She could be lying.”“What would she gain from that?”“What did she gain by betraying her friend?” He made to walk past but Nelly blocked him. “Still, you shouldn't go…” her voice was pleading. “I–I can't bear to see you get hurt. I would go crazy. It would kill me.”Damian observed her. Then he sighed. He was thinking Nelly had gotten over her crush on him but it seemed she hadn't. He held her shoulders. “Look Nelly, I cannot allow Tommy to be roaming around my Pack before people get hurt. I must catch him.”“I never said he should be allowed to live. I want him dead more t
Tommy tied up Alpha Kael and Blackridge after making them surrender. To save their lives, they'd agreed to let him use some of their men as he demanded. “You have lost, Tommy. You will never win,” Kael gritted as he sat with his back tied together with Blackridge:s back. Tommy laughed at him. “No Kael. I have not lost and I will not lose. I will make sure of that.”Blackridge suddenly burst into laughter eliciting a deep frown from Tommy. After some time, he stopped. “You are still delusional. You will never win Damian. You are a fuvking loser!”“Is that what you hope?” Tommy asked with a chuckle. Well, he could understand. They were helpless at the moment and their only hope would be hoping that Damian saved their arse. “What did you do to Balus?” Kael asked. Tommy's lips looped as he briefly recalled how it happened. “He was a senseless fool with a lot of pride. Friendly advice. Try not to end up like him.”“You are a bastard! You are a fucking monster!”Tommy ignored their rant
AMAYA’S POV “Make sure to take her back safely,” Damain ordered the guard and darted off. “Wait! What's going on?” I yelled. How could he just leave me here and dash off without saying anything? I was going after him when I stumbled on a stone I hadn't seen and plummeted to the ground. My eyes became heavy and hazy. Things grew blurry and all of a sudden, several voices echoed in my head at once. I shut my eyes and a serious headache attacked me. Different kinds of memories bombarded me, it made my head ached. I could see the guard before me. His head had grown double and his mouth was moving. He was saying things but I only heard muffles. I passed out. I woke up an hour later and found myself in my room. Surrounded by faces I recognized. I panicked. “You are awake,” the doctor said. She was the same doctor that treated me before. “Are you okay?” she asked. “Yes…yes.” I tried to get up but realized the spot I knocked my foot against the rock was wounded. I groaned receiving hel
“No… Uncle…don't say anything please…”“Damian, I killed your father.”Damian felt his throat dry up immediately. For a moment, his ribs neither took in any air nor expelled any. Silent turmoil over took him. He'd already suspected this was what his uncle was going to confess. He'd dreaded it and tried to avoid hearing it. But in the end he couldn’t stop the truth from being the truth. He looked away as a stray tear slipped down his face. “I won't ask for your forgiveness… I don't deserve it…”“Why? Why did you do it?” his voice was raw and his amber eyes had darkened. A surge of anger made him shake inside. “I wanted him to approve a new law. I killed someone but it was all by mistake, I swear it. It was never intentional. Before that night, the news was already set to break out in the Pack. All I wanted was for your father to protect me as his brother.”“You wanted him to hide you!” His emotions went loose. Uncle Griffin closed his eyes and silently cried. “Yes, you are right. I w
