AMAYA'S POV I could feel Nelly and Lyra’s glare on me as I followed Damian to his room which was on the ground floor. I wondered if Nelo was alright. I couldn't insist on seeing her knowing Damian was probably still furious at her for her horrible mistake. Why did she have to go into my room at the exact time I snuck out. But that aside, the fact that I could have probably been out meeting with Lucius at the time they entered my room. What could have happened had I not been in the room at that moment? What could have happened if the guards were not mounted in the route I was going to take?Damian might have forgiven me for trying to run but would he forgive me if I secretly met Lucius? I bit my lips to stop myself from releasing a sigh and was lucky to look up right in time to see that we had reached Damian's room, missing bumping into his back by an inch. He pushed the door open and I walked into one of the most dark aura yet alluring decor I had ever seen. Dimly lit with deep shado
It had been over an hour since Nelo was banished to her room. She still couldn't believe what had happened–how on earth Amaya was in the room..She was sure she saw her leaving. Just how… She sighed exasperatedly and started towards the door. She had to speak with Amaya. But at the door she stalled, Damian’s glare flashing in her head. She was lucky to still be here, alive. Any other misstep from her and he'd really be sending her parking. She groaned and turned back into the room. Tommy was in prison and she hoped he would rot there for as long as she cared. One nightmare dealt with. She breathed in satisfaction as she reminisced over it. How she had tipped the guards of his whereabouts and lied that she'd seen him sneaking into the main building. She didn't think it would be enough to kill him but she knew it would be enough to keep him away for the meantime. An idea occurred to her. She rose up from the bed and walked to the telephone but on a second thought left it and hurried
BALUS PACK Alpha Balus Landrinth marched into the meeting hall where his council elders were already gathered, their arguing voices booming over the hall.As soon as he settled into his seat, the head of the elders, elder Mamont, got up. “My Alpha, this is unacceptable. Very unacceptable! We may not be as powerful as other Packs but this is a disrespect to us! To you and to us the elders and the entire Balus clan!”“Yes! Very unacceptable!” The other elders roared together in support. “How long must we act dumb, pretending not to see the insults? My Alpha, you must make a decision. We call for war upon Westwood Pack!”“Yes! They have been asking for war for a long time and it's time we gave it to them!” An elder roared. Alpha Balus' jaw tightened. He glared at the elders. “War? War? You want war?”“Yes, we want war!” the elders barked back. Dalus locked his jaw and his fist tightened. How ddre they they try to rope him into war. How dare they…“Keep silent, all of you!” He slammed
“Let's go out. Aren't you tired of being cooped up here all week?” Nelo said to Amaya after they had breakfast. Amaya exhaled wistfully. “I’m going out of my mind here already.”“Going out of your mind? why? What happened?” Amaya jerked, snapping out of her dream world. “Well, nothing really…”Nelo frowned. “Have you been listening to me at all?” “Sorry, what did you say?”Nelo peered at Amaya's face closely and shook her head. “Hmm. What are you thinking ?”“Nothing,” Amaya whispered. But the flush in her face suggested otherwise and Nelo wasn't about to stop inquiring. “Really nothing? Your face is so red right now. You are thinking of him right?” Amaya blinked, face flushing even more. “Him? What are you talking about?” She gave a dry laugh and glanced away. Then she looked towards Laura to check if she was watching them. As usual, Laura's eyes seemed to be elsewhere. Nelo adjusted in her seat. Amaya’s indirect speech was annoying her inside. She needed to know who exactly she
AMAYA'S POV Nelo and I wandered the town from one street to another. There were just many things to see and walking with Nelo reminded me of the old times back at Westwood. The times we scurried the busy markets together; either running errands for those geezer elders or getting things done for the quarters. “I miss Selene,” I said feeling a bit sad. “I wish she was here with us. Then it'll be the three of us again.”“Me too,” Nelo mumbled. Well, the first hour was all fun and lovely but the sun soon came up high in the sky and I was beginning to feel damn hot. Nelo suggested we make a stop in one of the stores and grab water but it turned out neither of us had cash on us. Laura had all the money. “Oh shit!”Helplessly we turned around to return back. That was when we realised we had missed the roads. “Tired, hungry, no money and now we are lost…” “I think we have a bigger problem–”I heard Nelo say but I was too tired to listen as I just squatted down. “Amaya…look!”I heard gr
Lucius ambled in his hotel room. He was set to return to Westwood but his last meeting with Amaya kept on bothering him. After his meeting with Amaya, he'd been feeling strange. His plan had always been to act nice and kind to make her come back to him. However , those words he had said to her– when he had grabbed her hands as she was leaving. They were not words he could fake. It was words that could only come from deep within him. He took in a breath and felt his chest. Were those words genuinely his? Was he liking his rejected mate? With Jason's arrival, he had to abandon his thoughts. “I have bad news,” Jaxon started. “Tommy will be tortured today.”“He knew the risks. If he's weak enough to get caught, he should be brave enough to take some beating,” Lucius remarked indifferently. He grabbed his button up jacket. “There’s also something else…a problem,” Jaxon began. Lucius frowned, resisting the urge to snap. He was tired of hearing problems. When was he going to finally he
BALUS PACK “Prepare my car. We are going to Craven Pack.”“Yes, my Alpha…Wait, what? Craven Pack?” Luman expressed shock. “No, I cannot allow you to go there.”Alpha Balus ignored the shock in his Beta’s face and rose up. “I will only make a deal with him. If we are to win against Westwood, we need leverage of some sort over him. No matter how I think about it, Damian remains the only one we can go to for help.”“Damian is dangerous,” Luman said seriously. “I know but I can't sit back and do nothing. And no more questions.”*************Damian was going through the paper reports when he was informed of Alpha Balus’s presence. “Alpha Balus?” he asked bemused, pushing the reports aside. “Yes, my Alpha. There was no prior notice and he insists he must see you. From his body reaction, I believe it is urgent.”Damian rose from his seat, his surprise morphing into a serious facial look. “Let him into the meeting room,” he ordered. Minutes later he entered the meeting room where Alpha
Amaya opened the door to see Lyra standing there. She resisted the urge to frown. “Let's go to a party. My friend is hosting and she invited me. I am allowed to bring someone and well, let's say I picked you,” Lyra said with an indifferent shrug. Amaya blinked and regarded her for about a few seconds. “You are asking me to go to a party with you?”“That was exactly what I said. Now are you going or not?” Amaya drew in a breath. She wanted to go out. A lot of things were on her mind with Lucius's words taking the lead. “Are you coming or not!” Lyra snapped, angry that she was delaying. “I will go,” Amaya agreed. A party would be perfect to distract her from her thoughts at least for sometime. “I heard a party. Can I come too?” Nelo asked, poking her head out of her door. “Nope. I can only invite one person and she has the slot now. Get ready and we will meet downstairs in fifteen minutes.”“What about Nelly? She won't let us leave.”“I don't need to take permission from the bitc
CRAVEN PACK DUNGEON “Please make sure to eat your meal, my Alpha.”Those were the exact words the guard that brought in his meal that very morning had said and for some very odd reason Damian couldn't say, both the food and the manner with which the guard had spoken kept on bothering him. Unable to wave off the bother, he decided to see for himself. Sighing, he lifted the plate and looked at the food. Nothing special. Same horrible choice of food as it had been. Since he got captured, he had tasted nothing that was given. As an Alpha that had fought wars and suffered a lot, his body was no stranger to torture and not getting food for days. As he made to drop the plate back, something white caught his eye. He stopped and glanced around to see if he was being watched–Lucius leaned on the cell rods with eyes shut and none of the guards seemed to be paying attention. He stuck his hand in and carefully drew out a folded piece of paper. He unfolded it and read: “Nelo is a spy. She spied
“My love, what's wrong?” Jungo asked softly. The frustration and helplessness etched in his face.“I know, the whole takeovers is toiling with everyone–”“I'm sorry, Jungo but we can't continue this,” Nelo muttered, throwing her face away. What was the need? Tommy now ruled Craven and Damian was in jail. The only reason she needed him in the first place was to spy on Damian. Jungo blinked, the confusion arching deeper in his forehead. “What do you mean, my love? Have I made you upset again?” He came closer to take her hand. Just like he had always done each time she got angry at him and always mellowed when he apologized but was roughly pushed away instead. Nelo flared up. She was tired of acting indifferent and yet his dumb self wouldn’t get it. “What part of my words do you not understand? When I said we can't continue whatever this bullshit is, I mean I am done with you! Don't you get it? You are not my type and everything that happened between us was a mistake! How can I possibl
Lyra headed towards the building the guards had pointed her to. They told her Tommy was in the private chambers. However, they allowed her to go see him there. Very much to her surprise. A few minutes later, she knocked once and entered the house. Again, to her surprise, the entrance door was unlocked. As if her visit was expected. She looked around, vaguely recognizing the house. Damian never let her enter. Although she could see the changes Tommy had made, there wasn't much difference when Damian used it. She swallowed hard, feeling a jolt of guilt at the remembrance of Damian but she shrugged it off and proceeded inside. “Alpha Tommy?” She called, meeting the empty cushions and room. She heard a sound coming from the bedroom and approached it. At the door, her heart skipped. She imagined Tommy getting furious at her unannounced visit. What if he gets furious at her and rejects her advances? She bit her lip and hoped it didn't come to that. She had asked the guards if he was on
CRAVEN PACK HOLDING ROOM Amaya’s eyes scanned the room they put her in. It had only one door. Aside from this one door, there was also the main gate to pass through. Her hands were firmly tied to the chair and three unfriendly eyes remained on her. It was obvious there was no way out. She ground her teeth and pressed back a frustrated sigh. A moment later Tommy strode in. “Bring the man out,” he immediately ordered. A hulk, over six feet tall with splitting muscles tracing all over his body lumbered in. Amaya’s chest tightened with alarm as the beast stomped towards her. He towered over her, the facial lines in his face burrowing deeply into his fat face. Awe looked at Tommy. “What are you going to do to me?” She questioned as she sucked in air, trembling with fear. “They don't like you enough, too bad,” Tommy muttered. “They won't give me what I want and you will have to suffer for it.”“I have nothing that you want! Let me go now!” Amaya gritted. “Oh yes, you do…your screams
CRAVEN PACK DUNGEON A guard carrying two trays containing two plates of dried bread and another small plate half filled with water stood before Damian’s cell. He looked at Damian sadly. “You will always be the only Alpha I will bow to,” he said, the veins in his neck surged with determination. “Don't feel bad. I am the one that has failed to protect you,” Damian told him. The guard placed the tray on the ground and pushed one of the plates towards Lucius' cell. Lucius gave him a look. “You will share the water but Alpha Damian will have the first drink,” the guard said and placed the water such that only Damian could reach it. Lucius hissed and kicked the plate of bread away. “I need no food or water. I don't deserve it,” Damian mumbled and pressed his jaw miserably. He then signalled the guard to come closer. “Did you check what I asked you to check?” he asked. The guard glanced around cautiously. “I am still on it. Tommy is very cautious and goes around with all sorts of bu
AMAYA'S POV “This is Nelo’s bracelet…how is it here?” Several thoughts had bombarded my head at that moment. When my eyes fell upon Lucius, goosebumps climbed my body and as he had tried to approach me, I drew back. “Yes, it is,” Lucius had agreed and further said Nelo must have mistakenly dropped it on her way out. He said he had called her out to ask her for ways to make me happy and come back to him as she was my best friend and knew me best. His story made sense but Nelo never told me she was out to meet him. The beeping of the clock sounded abruptly, reminding me of my environment. I shook my head as if shaking it would push the many thoughts and questions flooding into them away. This wasn't the time to doubt. If anything, I was the worst of all. I betrayed Damian. I let Lucius use me to bring him down. How could I ever forgive myself for it? My chest tightened with resentment for myself. But I didn't want to keep feeling self pity and doing nothing. Damian's eyes as he w
As the men tore the brown file apart, Alpha Lucius laughed maniacally. Their eyes registered shocking disappointment at the discovery of the blank white paper in the brown file. Tommy sneered and slammed the file on the ground. “Tell us where the deed is or else you will be dead,” he demanded furiously. Alpha Lucius continued to laugh. Now it was their turn to be filled with anger. “Traitors!” he sneered. “I will kill you!” Tommy grabbed his throat and choked. Alpha Lucius did not stop laughing even as Tommy's grip tightened around his neck and the pain traveled through him. He knew they would not kill him until they found the deed. They needed the deed badly. Alpha Kael pulled Tommy away, reminding him they needed Lucius alive if they were to get everything they needed. “Tell us where the deed is and your life will be spared,” he demanded, bending to match Lucius' height. Lucius heaped his saliva and spat at his face. “I don't know where it is,” he said with a clenched jaw. This
Early the next day, Alpha Lucius was ready to go show the Alphas the land as agreed. He was dressed in a fitted leather jacket atop dark distressed jeans. His combat boots were sturdy, especially functional and enhanced his commanding presence. Despite the oozing confidence his dressing emanated, he still felt down inside. As he stared at the bedroom door, he swallowed painfully. Normally he should be losing his patience but he couldn't bring himself to. He was going to slowly warm his way into her heart. She may be angry with him for a few days but not forever. Not when he would be making her his Luna and wife officially tomorrow. Yet it ached his heart that she would rather stay away from him than accept his love. “Please open the door, Amaya,” he begged. For another minute not one sound came from the door. “I just want to say something to you before I leave. I'm about to leave with Tommy and the other Alphas. Please open the door. Just this once.”To his surprise, the sound of
While the big meeting hall echoed and shook from the booming laughter of men, Alpha Lucius had his beauty sleep. He may be an Alpha but he knew he still needed rest and had specifically warned to not be awoken unless for an emergency. Now that he had conquered his worst enemy and Amaya was with him, well, partly, he might as well sleep the sleep he had deprived himself of for many years. As soon as he woke up, all he thought about was Amaya. When he brought her into the Alpha’s quarters, she had run into the bedroom and locked the room. All his efforts to get her to open the door failed. Sighing , he pushed aside the duvet he’d borrowed from Raze and strode to the bedroom door.“Amaya, open the door. You need to eat something at least,” he called. A knock sounded on the main door halting him. It turned out to be one of the guards who had come to inform him of the ongoing jubilation in the meeting hall. Lucius frowned. “Party in the hall? Who authorized such a party?” “Beta Tommy
