Chapter 5: His chosen mate

"Future Alpha Todd Rupert of Wild Gold pack."

Thalia felt immobile, her hands were shaking reading the name on the invitation, her sister was engaged to the man she carried his mark, what a terrible fate, she had, she hit the glass on the wall, shattering it, her hands were bleeding but that pain is nothing to her, the pain in her heart hurts more than anything, she needed air, she grabbed her sword, she was heading out again, pulling the door of her room, her father, alpha Shawn was standing in front of her.

"Thalia," she stood in motion, alpha Shawn walked to her, she held her breath, not wanting to make him smell her aura. "Where are you off to dress in a man wears again? And your hands, they are bleeding"

Her eyes move to her wears, she has forgotten that she is still in the shirt of the man that broke her heart.

"Oh this...I...what do you want Father?" Finding the right words to use for her father was difficult, changing the topic was the best option she could think of.

"Oh, your sister's suitor..."

"Alpha Shawn, I already know." She growled, she wanted to keep it low but the anger in her, would not let her act calm, Alpha Shawn looked at her, first she referred to him as alpha and now, she growled at him

"Baby, are you alright?" If there is anything Alpha Shawn could give off his crown for, then it will be this beautiful daughter of his but something is wrong, something has changed, and Luna Alia is the one responsible for this change. "Come on, tell me, daughter, is everything alright, and your..."

"My mate, Alpha Shawn!" Luna Alia called out to Thalia's father.

"Luna Alia, what..." Luna pressed a soft kiss on his lips.

"I was looking everywhere for you and you know, we need to prepare for Princess Rani's suitor." Thalia watched her mother, the Luna run her hand on her father's chest.

"Oh that is true, Thalia, we will talk later after your sister's engagement, and don't forget to join breakfast."

"Alpha Shawn, I will skip." He turned and gave her one last glance, he wanted to know everything about his daughter's pain, yet, something was stopping him this wife of his, was acting all strange and different from his human mate, yet she carried the face, of his human mate

"Fine, but dinner is a must, the family that eats together stays together." That has always been the alpha logic of getting everyone to have a meal together.

"Noted Alpha." Even though Thalia kept referring to him as alpha instead of Dad, he didn't want to argue with his stubborn daughter

Thalia heaved in relief, seeing that the alpha and Luna had walked out of her quarters, she darted towards the exit door.

"Hey sister," that was Rani's voice, the devil herself, she acted all nice in front of their father towards Thalia while in a real sense, she hated Thalia.

"What now sister?" Thalia's voice was filled with sarcasm.

"You must have heard that my suitor is coming today and..."

"Rani, I know all that, you are the one getting engaged, I don't see the reason why everyone is dragging me into this, and what happened to the Rani that believes in meeting her fated mate?" Thalia's voice was cold and her fist clenched, she was fighting hard to not get mad at Rani and bounce on her.

"Oh sister, you know, I have always preferred an alpha to just any idiot that could bear the title of a fated mate. I know you don't understand, the difference between love and power, to you love is everything but to me, power is everything, here, take this, deliver it to the royal family of Wild Gold Pack." Thalia's eyes move to the parcel, it's a box of silver coins, it's the tradition of the Blue Moon Pack to gift the family their daughters will be part of after the claiming, be it a chosen mate or fated mate.

"Why do I have to do it? What happened to your guard?" Thalia's voice was calm yet she was burning in anger.

"It's because I want you to do it, you are good with the horse, so you will get there faster than any of my guards." Rani's voice wasn't friendly. "Go on and take it, if you don't want to get punished for disobeying the crown princess." Thalia pulled the box roughly from her, turning to leave, Rani's eyes met the mate mark on Thalia's neck. "Thalia, you found your mate already, and you..."

"I didn't, I only faked it to cover my scent from every male wolf in heat, I heard..."

"Stop explaining, get going," Rani yelled at Thalia, she turned and grabbed the door, it's a good thing Rani didn't want her explanation, even though she didn't have the right words to use how she get the mark on her neck, it didn't take long before she jumped on her horse and gallops away.

Todd who was just arriving at the castle, was distracted by a horse just arriving as well, Todd was staring in the direction of the fellow that had just gotten down from the horse and talking to one of the guards at the gate.

"Hey buddy, what are you looking at?" Adrian hit Todd's shoulder causing him to be startled.

"Adrian, what the fuck is wrong with you?"

"Sorry, what were you staring at?"

"It's nothing, who is that fellow over there?" Todd points at Thalia, knowing that she is coming to Wild Gold Pack, she needs to disguise herself again to avoid being recognized by anyone.

"I don't know, probably from your fiancee Pack," Todd clenched his fist.

"What fiancée?"

"Come on, you and I know that the Coronation ceremony of you becoming the alpha will not hold If you don't have a mate."

"I have a mate Adrian." Adrian turned and looked at him, yes, Todd found his mate and he had rejected him already, but now he was saying otherwise. "don't give me that look, I have imprinted my mark on her."

"Slow down, I am lost and I am finding it difficult to be on the same page with you. Did you change your mind about..."

"Adrian stop talking nonsense and listen, the girl from last night, I imprinted my mate..."

"Todd, are you mad?" Adrian growled he closed his mouth almost at the same time, those words fled from his mouth, Todd titters as he pushed his hand into his hair, the morning sun shining on his face made him more handsome, and people say his father is handsome while he is a demigod.

"Why? Is it a crime to imprint my mark on the woman I wanted?" He said casually.

"No, what if she is a human, one without a wolf?" He tittered at Adrian's words. "What's funny?"

"Maybe, you have forgotten that I am also without a wolf, which makes me a human." Adrian knows he couldn't say anything to stop what had happened, but only the way forward.

"So where is she?" His face darkened the minute, Adrian asked him that.

"I need to look for her, she had..." Cameron run-in with his breath unstable, stopping Todd's words

"Alpha Todd, your father, the former alpha Rupert has been looking for you since last night, he is mad, so mad about what you did to Ivan and he said you are going to get punished but for now, you have to get dress, we are going to Blue Moon Pack." Todd's face crumpled.

"I don't want..."

"And why is that?" Former alpha Rupert growled, and Todd turned to him. "Todd, you are getting so annoying by the day, how dare you hurt your brother because he was trying to..."

"He is not my brother and he has no right to question my decision because I am the alpha..." Former Alpha Rupert sent a punch across his face, he held his bleeding lips. "Rupert!" Luna Iris runs to him, trying to stop Rupert from hitting Todd again.

"You should talk to him, if he doesn't want my wrath, and don't ever refer to yourself as the alpha because I am still the alpha of this pack, Meet me at the garage, we need to arrive there on time because we have received the gift of alliance already." Former alpha Rupert darted out, Luna Iris looked at Todd, then turned and left with her mate.

"Dammit!" He hit the wall.

"You should stop, you don't want to go to your chosen mate with bruises, it will make you look irresponsible." Cameron tries to save the situation. "You should look your best, I heard the princess is a goddess, she is extremely beautiful, I heard no one can beat her beauty."

Todd smiled shutting his eyes as Cameron referred to Princess Rani as the most beautiful, making him think about the girl, he had a one-night stand, and her face flashed to him, "I don't think so, her beauty is nothing compared to the beauty of my mate, her hair is as curled as moon shadow black, her eyes are Eden green eyes, with long eyelashes, her skin is flawless white, she is more like the goddess, I need to find her because she carries my mark now."

"You did what?"

"Stop yelling Cameron, you don't want to act like this Grandpa." Todd pointed at Adrian. "Look for her, I want to see her when I return."

"What is her name?" Adrian asked Todd.

"I don't know, she left before I woke up." Cameron wanted to laugh at the words of Todd but he held his laughter. "Get moving why I go see that female that is supposed to be my chosen mate." Todd darted out, Adrian looked at Cameron

"How do I look for someone, I don't know her name or even her picture?" Adrian ran his hand through his hair while Cameron shrugged tapping his shoulder.

"Enjoy your first assignment as a beta." Cameron teases Adrian.

It didn't take long before Todd and his parents arrived at Blue Moon Pack, he didn't come with his beta nor his gamma, he was just in the company of his parents.

"Former Alpha Rupert and Luna Iris, Alpha Todd, it's my pleasure, hope you all had a good ride." Alpha Shawn said.

"Thank You, shall we?"

"Sure after you, let's head to the dining your mate is already at the table." Alpha Shawn said, leading his guest inside, Princess Rani and Luna Alia were sitting gorgeously at the dining, they both took to their feet.

"Today, we gather here, to meet my daughter's chosen mate, Alpha Todd of Wild Gold Pack." Alpha Shawn spoke, he didn't even introduce Rani to Todd, it's obvious that the younger one is the mate while the older one is the mother. Alpha Shawn raises his gold wine glass.  "Let the ceremony begin and..." Sheila ran into the dining.

"Sheila, what madness had brought you..."

"Princess Thalia, she fainted."
