Callista’s POV~~

“Please, please help me!" An excruciating pain crashed over me as my face twisted in a grimace of torment.

“Please, don’t let my pup die.” My hands clawed at the air, causing my body to arch in an unnatural curve.

“Was I the one that put that bastard pup in there?” The guards bemoaned, irritation laced in his voice.

I could feel beads of sweat form on my furrowed brow as I writhed in a desperate attempt to find relief from the pain coursing through the soul of my being.

“Please don’t do this to me.” My face has now grown paler. My face was distorted by the sheer agony that I was going through.

The guards let out scoffing laughter that cut through the air like a knife. I raised my furrowed brow to meet his eyes, emitting an intense glare that pierced through the air. I could see a smug expression on his face, and his eyes narrowed with a cruel glint.

“Did you think twice before betraying our trust?” His voice was harsh and grating, echoing with a sense of disdain

Only a few members know about that route. It will lead you deep inside the woods,” he paused and tapped on my shoulder. I was sitting directly opposite him. “Tristan will send his guards and hunting wolves to come after you once they notice you have escaped from the dungeon, but do not panic. I will give you something you would rub on your body so that your scent will be untraceable whenever they want to come after you.” “There are dangers lurking around in the woods, so you need to be very careful so you don’t be a victim to rogues or vampires; they are very bloodthirsty and hate our

BACK AT THE WOLFSONG DOMINION PACK Cassius’ POV~~As wolf kinds, it is so rare for us to get sick. Let’s just say we don’t get sick at all. The moon goddess has given us immunity against sickness, but not against rare, old-age conditions. My face, which resembled a stormy sky, with clouds of concern gathering over my brow, diverted to my father's sick body lying helpless on the bed. He has been bedridden since I assumed the position of Alpha. His condition is getting worse as time passes, and this has given me concern. He was diagnosed as suffering from silver vein syndrome. His veins have become extremely sensitive to silver, leading to weakened blood circulation and his overall frailty. “Babe, why are you so disturbed?” Selene's question snapped me out of the daze I was in. My deep, troubled face turned to her. My lips tightened into a thin line. “I can’t believe you are asking me this!” My teeth clenched in frustration as her question got under my skin. “Isn’t this enough for

Cassius POV~~ Watching my father jerk wildly on the bed he was lying on filled my heart with sadness and despair. Tears filled my eyes as I realized how completely powerless I was and how much I wanted to ease his suffering and make things better.I felt a wave of sadness come over me, and I couldn't help but feel incredibly sorry for him.Why is this happening to the most powerful Alpha I have ever known? Has the power he had vanished because he was sick?. I felt a mix of anger and frustration at the unfairness of it all. Why is the moon goddess not doing anything and watching him wallow in pain and struggle? This is a heavy burden for me to bear. It weighs me down, both emotionally and physically. I stood by his side and held his hand lightly, offering reassurance and a sense of stability amidst the chaos. My presence became a source of solace, even though I couldn’t fully alleviate his pain. Soon, his body stopped making the spasm movement. A sense of calmness washed over me, s

Cassius’ POV~~ I squinted my eyes nervously, trying to check if I wasn't reading what I was seeing right. This is so clear and legible. My eyes aren’t deceiving me at all. Imogen wrote in her diary that ' my brother’s mate is having an affair with warrior Garret; I will make sure to expose them’. That was the last thing she wrote, and the rest of the diary was empty. Garret and Selene? Having an affair? It was as if someone ripped my heart out and stepped on it repeatedly without an ounce of sympathy. I felt the urge to stand up immediately and confront them, but what is here isn’t enough evidence for me to do so. I felt a swirl of emotions, a mix of sadness and anger. I clenched and unclenched my fist. My blood was boiling like hot steam. Was Imgoen joking when she wrote this? But, come to think of it, she can’t write this if she hasn’t seen them. I know her very well, and she would protect me in any way she could if I were ever cheated on by anyone. She doesn't allow anyon

I should be the one doing what she is doing right now, not the other way around. Is she trying to guilt-trip me? “It’s fine.” I sighed in resignation. “I am not in for all these dramas,” I half yelled, raising my hands high in an attempt to walk away from her. “And who is making up dramas here? You know yourself that I don't like him, so why try to make me feel guilty for what you caused?” Irritation was laced in her tone as she held me by the hands, preventing me from moving further. My gaze turned to her. “Have had enough. And don’t ever tell me that you are sorry. Never! Don't repeat that statement again, I warned, clenching my teeth and pointing a finger at his face. “So dumb of you to tell me you misplaced the key. How am I sure you didn’t plan the escape together with her?” My face twisted into a grimace. “No, no, my alpha. I didn’t do that. I can never plan with a betray..." Before he could finish whatever he was trying to say, my fist connected to his cheek with a sharp and stinging impact, leaving a red mark behind. He winced and held his cheek in pain. Tristan’s POV~~ “Summon Healer Ragnar to my cottage immediately!” I ordered through gritted teeth, and my fist slightly curled into a ball. “My Alpha, if she had escaped through here, that means we can still catch up with her using our wolf speed,” Andrian suggested, and it sounds like a good idea to me."Okay, then, that sounds like a nice suggestion. Let's do this!” My eyes traveled between the two. I took the lead and climbed down the stairs leading down to a horizontal tunnel. It was pitch black; the human eye wouldn’t be able to see through it. We all transformed into our various wolves. With our eyes, just like two glowing orbs, like a tiny moon hidden in the shadows pierced through the dark tunnel, illuminating our way ahead as we keep sniffing to find the scents around the walkway. “Did you catch any scents?” I opened the mind link to breeze into their mind. “I do catch an interesting scent, but it was slightly,” Xavier answered, still using his nose to sniff and explore

Callista’s POV~~I have been running and running and running for the past ten hours, nonstop. Not even to have a break or drink water at the rivers I came across on my way because I was afraid they would catch up with me, and I couldn't afford to go back to that hell hole of a pack. I know they have treated me with love and care ever since I became their Luna, but why suddenly change because of mere accusations? I shrugged off the thoughts and kept going because I didn’t want to think about them any more. Maya was getting tired, and so was I. I shouldn’t have shifted because I was pregnant; it is very dangerous for me to. Werewolves aren’t allowed to shift into their wolf form when they are pregnant for fear of losing the baby, but I needed my wolf so I would be able to run farther away from them into the woods. They are stronger than I am, and it would be easy for them to catch up with me in my human form. I just hope my pup is safe there. Maya’s eyes darted around the towering t

"I... didn't mean... to... umm," but before I could finish my statement, he grabbed me by the waist and his gaze darkened. "Say it." His voice came out in a husky manner, making my bodily hair stand out. A weird sensation made me rub my tights together as the warmth spread. "Say it." He urged me again, making me feel a little hesitant. He looked totally different from how he was a few minutes ago. I felt our bodies collide after he pulled me closer and nibbled on my collar bone in a seductive manner. "Say my name once more." He smirked, and before I could react, he slammed his lips against mine a little roughly and lifted me up at the same time. The smile on his face dissipated, replaced by a frown etched with confusion. His brow furrowed at her as if trying to understand something. Leaving wasn't just about duty or forging a new path; it was about confronting the past, about mending the fractured bond with Tristan and Cassius. Taking a deep breath, I approached him. The air crackled with unspoken emotions—a tangible tension that stretched between us. "Tristan," I began, my voice barely above a whisper. He met my gaze, his blue eyes searching mine. "Callista," he replied, his voice rough with emotion. “I am sorry.” His tone was low and soft. I gave him a small smile. “We can’t duel in the past; I have forgiven you wholeheartedly,” I responded as a matter of fact. “I shouldn’t have broken the bond back then,” he said with a regret-filled voice. “It's fine. Taking a deep breath, I addressed my assembled pack members, their faces a sea of curiosity and unease. The murmurs of my pack rose in the tense silence, a hint of disapproval and confusion. Could he see, as I did, the flicker of a man yearning for redemption amidst the ruins of his past?"We have a prisoner of vengeance no more," I announced, my voice ringing with authority. • Rejected and Torn between Alphas    CHAPTER 140: Back home

Callista’s POV “Mommy!" Jessica’s arms wrapped tightly around my waist, burying her face in my stomach. Relief washed over me, bittersweet and sharp. "Where did you go? Aunt Lily said you left to kill big bad wolves!" I chuckled, the sound raspy. "Not exactly, sweetheart. I went to help Alpha Cassius and his pack. They needed a little… assistance." Jessica tilted her head back, peering up at me with wide, worried eyes. The resemblance to Cassius, with her sharp jaw and frame, was uncanny. But her eyes—those held a warmth Cassius never possessed, but of mine. "Did you get hurt, Mommy?" Her tiny hand reached up to touch a bruise blooming on my arm. Guilt gnawed at me. Leaving Jessica, even for a war I couldn't ignore, felt like a betrayal. "Just a few scratches, honey bee. Nothing a good night's sleep won't fix." I kneeled before her, forcing a smile. Jessica’s concern was a stark reminder of the responsibility I bore—to her, to my pack, and yes, even to Cassius, her father. But un

Cassius’ POV“Alpha, they are subduing us at the south border!" A fear-painted link echoed through my head, a glaring contrast to the ringing silence that had just descended on the clearing. Callista flinched beside me, her eyes wide with alarm. Pain flared in my shoulder, a throbbing reminder of the fight, but it was nothing compared to the sudden surge of fear that just coursed through me. "Shit! Let's go to the south border!" I roared the command, adrenaline masking the ache in my body. I scrambled to my feet, ignoring the way the world tilted for a moment.Callista was already moving; a black, brown, and white hybrid was disappearing into the trees. I pushed myself after her, pushing through the pain and the fear of a hot coal in my gut. We raced through the undergrowth, the pounding of paws echoing through the forest floor. As we broke through the trees and twigs, the scene that greeted us was one of chaos and goriness. Our warriors, outnumbered and caught off guard, were being

Cassius’ POV“What spell?” I raised a quizzical brow. “Watch out for it. Let’s move now!” She ran off towards the woods while the remaining warriors ran after her without answering my questions. As the pouncing from the woods became heavier and nearer, a realization dawned on me about what she said. Most of the packs in the North are joining forces against us. This is going to be a long night. “Shit!” I yelled and ran after her. We came to a halt when we caught sight of two groups of enemies pouncing forward in our direction. “These are two packs here,” I said immediately as I caught up with her. “Yeah, maybe they split up,” she nodded. “Attack!” she growled loudly as the earth trembled beneath our feet. The air crackles with anticipation, and the scent of fur thickens in my nostrils. The full moon hangs like a giant, watchful eye in the sky, casting the battlefield in an eerie silver light. Howls erupt from both sides. A scream of rage reverberates across the forest.Callista s

Callista’s POV The news of my arrival sparked a fire in the entire pack. Nervousness hung heavy in the air, but it was mixed with fierce determination. Young and old warriors gathered on the training ground, their eyes blazing with fighting spirit.I felt anger brewing up in me when Cassius’ gamma told me he asked me to come into his office. I had planned on how to trash him with words, but as I got in, his gaze made those thoughts fly away. A part of me craves him, and another part is pushing me away, but whichever part it is, I don’t think I would listen to anyone if it were. I just have to go ahead with what I came here to do and push those feelings aside. We can’t be on the battleground with emotions flying around. It would make either of us lose concentration. A frustrated groan escaped my lips. Had I traveled all this way, defying logic and reason, just to be on the receiving end of his teasing and flirtation? “I can do anything I want; this isn’t the Callista from years ago
