As I watched her leave, it felt like my heart was sinking, and even though twice, she stopped, she didn’t turn, and for some reason, I felt like she was being forced to do something she didn’t want to do. This wasn’t the Cora I knew. No matter how upset she was at me, she would have at least thanked me for saving her life and not walked away from me the way she did.

From the way she’d acted, it was obvious that someone was threatening her and by the way, what was she even doing in the stream? How was she even drowning? The Cora I knew loved water and as such, she was an excellent swimmer so how was it possible that she was drowning? I didn’t trust any single soul in this pack.
