~Jemima Wolfsbane Pov

....Her Mate's Pack

The words slashed through my heart with each syllable sharper than a chef's knife. I felt my heart begin to constrict inside of my chest as our omega bond rose to the surface. He could feel my pain too now, because it was now more than I could bear.

My mind were bombarded with all kinds of truth and realizations; the fact that he never wanted me even when he touched me, the fact that he did not even love me, the fact that I was nothing to him and yet he had intended to use me and even the fact that all those promises and wedding vows were all lies from the pit of hell.

“Connor, please don’t,” I whispered to him in pain. I could not take anymore of what he would dish out.

“Oh, what is wrong with you Jemima ?” Tamar taunted me with a malicious glint in her eyes. I could tell that she liked to gloat about whatever was befalling me. “Did you really think that he would choose you, over me? Oh come one! No one would, even you would not pick yourself. You are an embarrassment to our entire pack, both as a member and as our Alpha's mate.”

"Here is a horny slut trying to tell me who I am."

"Do not speak to Tamar like that!" My mate instantly defended her. I gasped in hurt surprise and astonishment at the difference in our treatments.

"Wow! So she gets to talk to me like I am trash and look down on me while you say nothing, but I who is your mate and your wife can not do the same with her?" I demanded.

"Have some respect for her Jemima ," he told me. I scoffed in anger.

“I am your mate, Connor!" I said as my voice rose to the max, fierce and defiant even when it felt like every part of me was getting broken. "This bond that we share, it was supposed to be sacred. Do you really not feel anything for me Connor? Nothing at all?” I demanded.

"Why should I Jemima ? You were nothing but a mistake. I would never have touched you that night if not for the Omega bond and I regret it. There is no way on earth that I would want something to do with a weak and stupid half abomination like you," he said with a humourless laughter and his voice laced with disdain.

"Then, you should never have married me," I yelled at him.

"Fine, let us remedy that," he roared at me. I stood, taken aback at his voice. "You're not meant for me Jemima ! You are unworthy to be my Luna. You are an abomination, a half breed, and I, Connor Wolfsbanewill never accept you as my mate and Omega."

"Don't, do not do this Connor!" I pleaded with him. But he continued.

“I, Connor Wolfsbane, reject you as my mate and Omega. You are unworthy to even stand by my side or to be called my Luna. You will cease to be mine.” The effect of his words shattered me, the weight morphing into a sword and piercing straight into my heart. And like an invisible blade it cut through our Omega bond, tearing us apart completely.

The pain of the aftermath was immediate like a fiery volcano erupting inside of my chest. We both staggered backwards as I clutched desperately at my heart, drawing in ragged breath. A raw visceral pain began to force me to my knees as my vision shook with black spots flickering at the edges.

"Stop fighting that you pathetic moron! Accept my rejection!" Connor snapped at me as he took clutched at his chest, his face contorted in pain.

"I- I accept your rejection Alpha Connor Wolfsbane," I forced out though unwilling. A strangled scream tore out of my throat as the bond broke completely. Blood rose from my belly to my throat and I spat it out with a guttural force onto the floor as the severing effect of the bond reverberated throughout my entire being.

I allowed myself to sink to the floor just as Connor stumbled backwards across from me also coughing up blood as he was gripped by Tamar who supported him with her body. But the vivid look of pain on him for nothing to ease my own pain.

"It is alright now, you are fine," Tamar whispered to him.

I stared at them while I regain a fraction of my strength. I struggled to my feet with the metallic taste of blood on my tongue, staining my lips a bright red. I looked up at the both of them with a mixture of fury and heartbreak in my eyes. “You will both regret this,” I choked out in a hoarse voice that was filled with a fierce determination despite the agony that was coursing through me. “You might think that you have won, but you have not. I shall make sure that the both of you suffer the consequences of this betrayal. The both of you will pay for it."

"Oh I hope it is not that costly Jemima ," Tamar taunted me with a twisted smile. "Now off with you half breed," she mocked me. "You are no longer needed here."

"I shall tell father of your monstrous atrocities," I promised her.

“Oh do that,” she said mockingly in a cold and unwelcoming voice. “I doubt that he would be on your side. My father is not stupid. He likes to be on the winning side which you are obviously not on right now.”

She was right.

Now the realization that there was no one who would stand up for me caused all my strength to drain away leaving me a hollow empty shell. I had suddenly lost everything, my mate, my hope of a family, and my place in the world. I had become a castaway. Without another word, turned and ran out of the door, leaving Connor and Tamar behind in the penthouse while my mind ran over how I had gotten to this point in my stupid life journey.
