Alison’s POV

"Please... come back to me, Xander."

I didn’t care that he was snarling like a beast from hell. I didn’t care that his eyes were no longer the warm chocolate brown I adored but a raging blood-red storm of violence. I didn’t even care that my ribs ached and my palms were scratched bloody from diving out of the way again and again. All I cared about was reaching him… my Xander… the man I knew was still buried deep inside that possessed shell.

But God, it was like trying to reach someone through a hurricane.

He lunged again, his movements feral, terrifying. I dropped low just in time, feeling the rush of wind as his claws scraped above my head. My heart thundered in my chest as I rolled away and scrambled to my feet. I looked at him, panting. This wasn’t the man I loved. This wasn’t my Alpha.

"Xander," I tried again, voice cracking with desperation, "Remember when you first met me? At Silver Moon? Remember how you found me as a slave? You said I was the moon in your darkness

Alison's POV "Here's your glass of...?"The world shattered around me in an instant, one second, I was just doing my job, and the next, I was standing frozen, watching the man I once adored with someone else. The glass slipped from my fingers and shattered against the floor, echoing in the empty hall. I didn't even realize I had dropped it until the shards of crystal scattered around my feet. Alpha Kendrick looked up from the couch, his hands still tangled in Priya’s hair, while Priya’s narrowed eyes found me in an instant. Silence fell over the room, thick and dangerous.“What the hell do you think you’re doing walking in like you own the place?” Priya’s voice cut through the silence like a whip.“I.. I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to… I didn’t know…” My words stumbled out, tripping over each other as I stared down at my hands, trembling.“You didn’t know?” Priya sneered, untangling herself from Kendrick’s grasp. “You didn’t think to knock, either, did you, slave?”I wanted to speak, to r

Kendrick’s POV The light was dim, filtering through the high kitchen windows, casting shadows that seemed to dance as I walked into the quiet room. But then, there was a sound, soft, unexpected. Singing. Her voice, untrained and raw, yet filled with a haunting melody.I stepped forward, my boots scuffing against the tile floor. Her singing stopped, and she whipped her head up, startled. Alison's wide eyes met mine as she knelt on the kitchen floor, scrubbing, looking every bit the slave she was a mere servant in the Silver Moon Pack, where I'd held dominance and strength for years. But there was something different in her gaze that unnerved me, though I’d never admit it aloud."How long have you been here, Alison?" I asked, the words slipping out of my mouth before I could think them through. She swallowed, then answered in a voice so quiet I almost didn't hear it. "17 years, Alpha."Seventeen years. Seventeen years of watching her serve in silence, her presence nothing more than bac

Alison's Point of view "What a day?" I exhaled as I stared at myself in the mirror, adjusting the rough bandage on my hand and brushing the dirt out from beneath my nails. It didn’t really matter, but I wanted it to. I wanted to look less worn down, less like a servant at least for tomorrow. Tomorrow, I would be turning eighteen, and the thought sent my heart spinning with a strange, stubborn hope. Would this birthday mean something more? Would I finally find my mate? The man who would help me out of this enslavementThe very idea of a mate… it was everything I’d clung to during my years here. When I closed my eyes at night, I pictured a strong man, someone who would see me, value me, maybe even love me. A laugh bubbled out of me, bitter and absurd. What if, just by some miracle, that mate turned out to be Alpha Kendrick? The thought was ridiculous. I had a crush on him no doubt, he was powerful, commanding, and he now belonged to someone else. I shook my head, reminding myself of P

Alison's Point of view A splash of icy water struck me like a whip, jolting me from my slumber. My heart hammered in my chest as I gasped for breath, blinking away the cold droplets that clung to my eyelashes. Panic quickly morphed into fury as I realized what had happened. Priya, standing over me with a satisfied smirk, holding an empty bucket in her hands.“Rise and shine, servant,” she said, a cruel edge to her voice. “Today’s my special day, and I won’t tolerate anyone slacking off. Breakfast. Now.”Every instinct screamed at me to lash out, to say something. But as much as the words clawed at my throat, I kept them down. Tomorrow, Priya would officially become Luna, and I knew what that meant for someone like me. So instead, I wiped the water off my face, forcing myself to look up at her with the calmest expression I could muster.“Yes, Priya,” I muttered, barely meeting her gaze. Her sly smile widened, pleased with my compliance.“Oh, and make it perfect, will you?” She gave a

Alison’s POV"Simone, Something’s wrong with Xander."The words dropped from my lips in a shaky whisper, almost lost in the wind that swept across the hilltop. I didn't even realize I had spoken them until Simone turned sharply to me with a look of dread stretched across her face. But I already knew. Deep in my gut, something wasn’t right.Xander had been beside me seconds ago.. tired, yes, but steady. Now he was collapsed on the cold, uneven ground, his chest barely rising, his face pale and eerily still. The moment I saw him fall, my body moved on instinct, all exhaustion from the uphill trek forgotten. I was at his side in an instant, dropping to my knees with a desperate cry."Xander! Xander, wake up! Please… baby, please!" My voice cracked.Simone rushed over, her hands already moving to check for his pulse. “He’s alive,” she muttered, but her brows furrowed. “I think he probably fainted from exhaustion.”“No, Simone” I snapped, shaking my head with tears brimming in my eyes. “No

  • Rejected: Mated to Another Alpha   Chapter 156: First Encounter

Xander's POVThere are moments in life when time slows down, not because of fear or anxiety, but because everything feels perfect for a split second. That was last night. Alison had kissed me like she needed to feel every part of me, like she was holding on for dear life. Her moans still echoed in my ears, her nails still left faint marks across my back, and her body… God, her body had moved against mine like we were made for one another. But it was the desperation in her that really did something to me. Like she wasn’t just making love… she was saying goodbye. And that scared the shit out of me.I stirred from bed, the sheets tangled around our legs. Alison lay on her side, her bare back rising and falling with every deep breath. She looked so peaceful, and I hated the idea of waking her, even though we didn’t have the luxury of time. The Blood Moon was tonight.Dragging myself out of bed, I padded quietly to the kitchen to get some water, hoping to buy a few more minutes before we h

Alison’s POV“You feel that, don’t you?” I whispered, staring out the window into the velvet black of the night. “Something’s coming.”The trees stood eerily still, as if even the wind was too afraid to stir. The moon hung low in the sky, pregnant with crimson, its hue deepening every night as the Blood Moon drew closer. I could feel the weight of it in my bones, like gravity had decided I was worth pressing harder against. And yet, tonight wasn’t about surrendering to fear. Tonight, we prepare.Xander stood at the doorway of our room, arms crossed, jaw tense. He had that look in his eyes again, the one he wore when he was trying to be strong for me. That look that said he wanted to shield me from everything but knew damn well he couldn’t.“She’ll be here soon,” he said, voice low.Simone.Against my better judgement she had left alone, the burden of this mission felt pressed on her abilities to find the necessary items needed. I turned to him, nodding silently. A breath caught in my

Xander's POVThe midday sun cast sharp beams through the tall windows of my office, illuminating the dust motes that danced in the air. Papers were strewn across my desk, reports on patrol schedules, supply inventories, and diplomatic correspondences with neighboring packs. Yet, my mind was elsewhere, fixated on the gnawing unease that had settled in my chest since Simone departed on her solitary quest for the ancient witches' spellbook.I leaned back in my chair, rubbing my temples. Convincing Alison to let Simone go alone had been no small feat. Her protective instincts rivaled my own, and the thought of her friend facing unknown dangers without us was a bitter pill to swallow. But Simone had been adamant, and in the end, we had to trust her capabilities.A sudden, urgent knock at the door snapped me from my thoughts. Before I could respond, the door swung open, and my mother stepped in, her face etched with worry."Xander," she began, slightly out of breath, "you need to come to th
