Do you expect me to answer that Nahele, cause I don't see the reason why I should, but I will....."

He looked at me for what felt like eternity to me, I also kept shaking my head to him, signaling him not to say it, but he continued nevertheless.

"I will satisfy your curiosity today, my mate is ....... A WITCH, the high priestess Catori, who is standing before you here." 

He said with hurt in his eyes and voice, why was he hurt, why does it feel like this whole thing is not what is seem like on the surface, was he lying to me, did I do something that hurt him.

All the elders has a shocked expression on their faces, they all felt like their world is crumbling. ' no, this can't be true, the moon goddess can't just bestow this kingdom with a witch Queen, they haven't done anything that would warrant her rapt, why were they being punished'. All the the elders thought, Elder Nahele was the first to break the silence in the hall.

"Your majesty, are you certain of what you just said, you do know that this can cause damage to the kingdom, do you feel the mate bond between you".

King Alex was rather annoyed at his question.

"Is that an insult, are you saying that am incapable of feeling the mate bond or that am so stupid that I will bring this matter up if I don't feel the mate bond".

He yelled at them. All the elders were once again shocked at the alpha's sudden announcement, they all turned to the priestess for explanation, but she looked away immediately, not daring to meet their gaze, but after a second thought, she looked back at them, it is not like it is her fault that she is his mate, it is a natural thing. She is not the moon goddess who was the one that made them partners, she doesn't possess such powers, if they want to blame anybody for this, they should go blame the moon goddess, not her.

"Let's get to the main discussion for today, we don't have enough time on our side, the vampires are preparing to take us unawares, so I humbly suggest that we leave this issue, when we are ready for the war or after the war, we can bring this up again, if you elders insist on continuing this matter, am afraid I can't."

She said to them after seeing their questioning and furious gazes. The king slowly made his way towards her, looked her up and down and said bitterly.

"Whether you like it or not, I will never mark you as mine, never"

"Noted"

I met his furious gaze, staring straight into his eyes, unperturbed by his chilling gaze, the atmosphere in the hall dropped drastically, to show how angry he had become, he wanted to say something to me again when he saw my indifference look, like I don't care what he do, he decided against it, he turned to the elders who was watching us and said to them.

"The meeting is over"

"Follow me"

He looked towards my direction and uttered the words, then he continued walking down the stairs and out of the throne hall, and I glanced at the elders who were looking at us curiously.

"You are dismissed, you don't have to wait for us, go back first, when we done we shall send someone to inform him."

I told them, when I saw that they had no intention of leaving.

"We can wait here, we don't have anything doing at home, so we can as well wait here, this matter is making us anxious, we can't leave without settling it".

Elder Nahele said, he is the most stubborn of all the elders, I glanced at them one last time and walked out of the throne hall too, with the king temper, am sure he won't come back here, I walked to the small garden at the back of the throne hall and saw his Majesty waiting there for me.

"What is it that you plan on doing"

I asked him, when I saw him in a daze.

"It has nothing to do with you, all you have to do is to see the vision, interpret it, then bring it and I will do the rest"

He replied angrily with a cold and chilling voice. And I decided to give him a piece of my mind.

"You don't have to sound so bitter about it, it is not my fault that am your mate, I didn't make myself your mate, the moon goddess did, so can you stop this , please"

Even though she loves him, but that doesn't mean that it is her fault for being his mate, he knew she love him and sometime ago, he used to say he loved her too, but now he claims he hated her just because he found out she was his mate. Though she was hurt by his words but she believes there is no such thing, if you love someone with all your heart like he used to tell her then, you can't just wake up one morning and start saying you hate him/her, that's not possible, that's the most ridiculous fact of the planet, she believes if it is as he claims, then he didn't love her back then, maybe it was only obsession, that is the only thing that can make him talk that way, and obsession is not and can never be love, she subconsciously believe that deep down he still love her, but maybe due to the circumstance, he deci Decided to reject her.

"So you mean........."

"Just get to the point please, why do you call me out here alone"

I interrupted him when he was about to say something unrelated, something that can make me get emotional, and that is the last thing I want right now, I don't want him to know that this is affecting me, even though am dying silently, I want him to know that if he don't want me, am not going to kneel and row on the floor for him to accept me back, I can never do that. Am beginning to get upset with him, I don't know what came over him, what happened for him to be like this, but we were once lovers, can't he consider that.

"I want to send a few foot soldiers and some captured vampires to the front line, I think they will be able to hold them back till we draft out a plan to deal with that vampire prince."

His voice brought me back to reality and was shocked when he mentioned captured vampires.
