I can't let Will know that something is wrong, so I take a few deep breaths and get my emotions under control then I walk down the stairs to the living room.

Adriana has fallen asleep on the couch so I cover her with a blanket. “Hey buddy, can you come with me, there's something your mum and I need to tell you.” I tell Will, and because he's such a sweet kid, he doesn't even complain that I'm interrupting his cartoons; he just gets up and puts his tiny hand in mine.

Oh goddess, give me the strength to do this; I bend down and carry him, and he leans his head on my shoulder. The look on Eric's face tells me he has questions, but I shake my head at him; I'll explain everything later.

Carrying Will, I walk up the stairs back to our room; when I walk in, Kate already has his suitcase on the bed, and she's packing his clothes. Her eyes are red and swollen from all the tears. Will struggles in my arms, so I put him down; he immediately goes to his mum.
