Chapter- 9 Alder’s POV “Mother,” “Alder,” she came and hugged me. I know my mother is the happiest person now. She wanted me to divorce Sirena, she had been telling that whenever we meet. I got so frustrated to hear all those bashings and avoided to meet her. She waited for all these years to hear this news. “I am glad that you’re free now,” she said. “Mother, please,” “Don’t feel bad, Alder. You can marry Grace now. I always tell you that she’s the perfect match for you,” I rolled my eyes, “You’re wrong.,” I said. “What do you mean?”“I am not going to marry Grace or anyone,” “Why?”“Because I can’t forget Sirena,” “Have you lost your mind? You rejected her,” “Yes, I did because she asked for it but I don’t have any desire to divorce her,” She’s so surprised to hear that from me, she thought I hated Sirena. It’s not only her, everyone, including Sirena perceived that was the truth. I am a jerk, I couldn’t be truthful to anyone in my life, even to myself. I liked Sirena bu
Chapter- 10 Sirena’s POV It’s been a week since I came here. I am making myself busy with work and in the other times, I sleep and spend my time in solitude. I like this new life compared to my old one. Raven was always there to help me and I spent most of my time with her. She’s such an interesting character but she said that she learned that from me. I am surprised to know how different I was in the past. I am not that frightened girl who’s hesitant to speak up for herself. I badly wanted to remember those fifteen years that has vanished from my memories. I want to be the person that everyone admire, I want to be fearless, like melody. My past hold so many secrets, I want to know who framed me and who wanted to kill me. Someone with such an audacity drove me out of this pack. I want to know who hates me in this pack, that person could be a threat to my father and to everyone. I need to find out and get that person out of my life, that’s always in my mind whenever I meet someone
Alder’s POV Frank and I were on our usual rounds on the pack’s ground. We were silent ever since we shifted, which is so unlikely. Understanding that I am going through so many things, he kept silent. I have been avoiding everyone, I lost interest to train and my daily routine has been completely altered. I shifted back to my human self and climbed on the tree to Mahogany tree to look at the red moon pack borders My mind and heart were constantly thinking about Sirena. Her real name is Melody, she was such an outgoing, hardworking, brave and fighter when she was in the red moon pack and after leaving me, she’s doing so great now. I couldn’t take it, each moment I have been tormented by regret. I hate to be alone in the villa and in all the places where Sirena been to. If I get a chance, I will bring her back. I know Sirena will chose to come back to me. Her love isn’t simple, she can’t forget me that easily but still, I am afraid a little. When I went to their pack, Alpha James as
Sirena’s POV Sitting on the window sill, I looked at the moon. My wolf is tempted by the gracious spread of moon’s glimmer. I am not ready to shift and wander in the woods. Alder occupies my mind; he’s not letting me to move an inch. Raven said she’d sent the message to Alder and I know he will come tomorrow. Ever since I heard that, I can’t think of anything else, I am passing my time, sitting here. I can’t able to close my eyes and I am wondering what I am going to do tomorrow. I lied to my father, it’s not my nature to talk that way to my mate and I am not allowed go with him either. It’s going to be hard tomorrow but I will get through this. I got down from the window sill and walked to the bed, the time is half past two, these days I couldn’t sleep early. I got inside the comforter and closed my eyes to sleep. Suddenly I heard a whisper near my ears, “Don’t meet him tomorrow,” it said. I squinted my eyes. “Lulu is that you?” I asked. “What?” Lulu woke up and she’s so e
Alder’s POV“It’s so heart-breaking compared to when I uttered those rejection words,” Benau said.I nodded. Frank is hesitant to speak to him. Whatever he says, that might weird this situation so he remained silent.“Alder…” Frank started.“I don’t want to hear anything, Frank,” I snapped. I don’t want to hear anything from anyone. It’s just too frustrating for me to think what a fool I am.“Then I will go to the packhouse,” Frank said and walked to the other side.I walked aimlessly into the woods; my mind kept bringing the memories I shared with Sirena. There were a lot of moments, I loved her and admired her without her knowing. From now on, I can’t have her as his mate, that I understood well. I’m vexed by the thought and sat down on the rock. It hard for me to process what I heard from Sirena. I feel the pain of rejection, it’s killing me from inside.“Sirena must have felt the same way last time,” Benau said.I know I am such a monster. I never once thought about how our life wo
Sirena’s POV“I am going to France, with Xander,” I said to Raven. We both were in the cafeteria having lunch. “Okay, that’s great. Have fun,” Raven said and I didn’t expect such an answer from her.“Don’t you have anything to say?”“What do you want me to say?” “I am going to travel alone with him. Tell me about him?” “Xander is like a big brother to me. He’s very professional, you’re close with him when you were here,” Raven had a sly smile when she said that. “Close means?” she asks. “Close, that’s it. I don’t know,” Raven shrugged. I frowned to hear that. “You have to give me a proper answer,”“Sis… you’re too young. You both are like best friends,” she said. Yes, she’s right, I was too young and there’s no point in exploring that. “Okay,” I nodded. “Look, Xander is the most trusted person in this pack. You can go with him anywhere,” she said. After listening to that, I felt relieved. I think I can trust him; I no longer has any doubt over him.“I am just nervo
Sirena’s POVI got a little free time in the afternoon so I went to the cafeteria to have a cup of coffee. After ordering, I sat down in one of the empty tables and looked around. People here see me differently and I’ll smile at them to clear the awkwardness. My life history is the hot gossip in the office. Even I caught a couple of co-workers gossiping about me. I didn’t take that offending but still it’s not appropriate. They will speak for some days and then they will eventually forget about that when something else comes up.Awkwardly waiting for my coffee, I looked around. I didn’t pay attention to what the girls next to me were talking but when I heard the name Xander, I asserted my ears to hear their conversation carefully.“These days Xander looks incredibly handsome,” one of the girls said. She had a long auburn hair and looked beautiful. “I don’t think so, he’s getting old and he’s losing his charm,” the other one said. Hearing that comment, I frowned just like the other g
I stood before my house, Xander said he would come and pick me and I was waiting for him. Raven is standing next to me and she’s here to send me off.“Have you traveled with Xander?” I asked Raven. “Yes, a few times,” “How was he like?” “He will take good care of you and he expects your complete perseverance on your work,”“Okay,” I nodded. I was hesitant to ask this question but I couldn’t control myself. I am curious about this guy. “What about his mate? Have you seen her?”Raven smiled, “His mate, that’s a sad story,” “What is that?” I questioned right away. “Why are you curious about him?” she asks.“That’s because… I want to know,”Raven raised one of her eyebrows and stared at me. I’m letting her know that I am interested in him which is somewhat true but not in the way as they think.“Look, it’s not like what you think,” “I didn’t say anything,” she giggled and I frowned by her gesture.“Are you not going to tell me about the sad story?” I ask even knowing th
A year laterSirena looked at the young kids training in the field. She smiled at how they were all so passionate about this pack. Sirena had changed a lot after taking over this pack. She’d trained to be a soldier like she guessed, it was pretty for her. She’s a soldier after all.She worked hard to fill the void that her father and Xander left.Ever since she became the she-wolf of the pack, she had found a new purpose in her life. For many years, she was searching for her path and now she’d found it here. She’s happy that she’d settled here. She lives in a big mansion alone but is always surrounded by people who believe in her.Raven and her mother have settled in Raven’s pack, so she’s all by herself. She’d to take care of everything here. Alone, doesn’t mean she’s alone all the time. Alder, her mate and the love of her life comes and stays with her on weekends. They were inseparable after all that incident happened. They both relied on each other’s support. Their packs accepted t
The funeral was held for her father and for her ex-husband, Xander. But Sirena didn’t attend them as she was under arrest. She has to be prosecuted in court and decide whether to leave her without punishment. There was mixed reaction from the public. Some considered her a home wrecker as they were all living in harmony until she came back to the pack. The other set of people sympathized with her. She had gone through a lot because of all these men.She passed the days in that prison and Alder would come every day to see her. She refused to meet anyone else. He assured her that he would get her out or at least help her to escape this place. At that moment, he’s the only person she trusts the most. She can see that he took the promise he made to her too seriously. His desire to make her life happy is seen in his every action. She doesn’t care whether he’s going to betray her again. What’s more she got to lose. Sirena wanted to face her fears, she’d done it and it gave her an immense rel
Sirena was anxious and afraid and was on the verge of running out of the place. People looked at her in surprise to see her alive. Everyone thought she was dead, but seeing her alive confused everyone, and that too, with Alder is quite unexpected. She went to meet her father, who turned emotional to see her.“I’m really sorry,”“That’s fine,” she said.“I don’t want any kind of apology. I’m here to tell you that. Xander tried to kill me. He betrayed me and the promise he made to you. It’s up to you to decide whether you have to keep him, pamper him as your puppet, or punish him for his mistakes," she said.Raven and her mother looked at her sympathetically, but she didn’t pay any attention to them. She trusted her sister but she too betrayed her. Sirena clearly isn’t in the state to accept any of their sympathy. Her father has already decided what he’d to do.“I have exiled Xander. He’ll be punished for everything he did to you, and I’m terribly sorry for not protecting you,”“It’s fi
When it was time to sleep, Sirena asked him to sleep next to her in the bedroom because it was the only room with a heater. He gladly accepted it. They made their bed and lay, leaving some distance between them.“What is your next plan?” he asks. He couldn’t fall asleep and the sound of thunder was too disturbing.“I’m going to live here for a while and then I’ll move somewhere else,”“Your plans?”“I need to take care of my business, find Xander and put him behind bars, and then live my life peacefully,” he said.“Do you think Xander will search for me?”“Yes, he will. To kill you is his safest way of escaping all this,”“I think he might find me,”“How?”“You, what if he’d followed you,”“That’s not possible,”“It is. I must leave after you leave,”“You can go back to the cabin or else come with me. You shouldn’t hide anymore,” he said. The main reason Alder came here is to take Sirena with him. Hiding here isn’t going to do any good to her.“I can’t. You should’ve told me that you’
“Your father exiled Xander,” he said.“Really? How did that happen?” she asks in surprise.“Your father,”“Have you told him where I am?”“No, not yet. Not until you give me your permission,” he assured.“Thank you,”“So, coming to Xander. He got into many problems, and your father got to know everything, including his affair with Grace, he saved a lot of money for himself from your pack’s fund and much more corruption that’s enough to exile him. He’s scarier than your father,” he said.“Where is he now?”“He and Grace have run away,”“Really?”“Yes, what’s more to hide after this? They proved that they were mates, and they would look too foolish to hide after this,” he said.“That’s right. Before things could escalate, he ran away,”“Your father asked his men to hunt him and I’ve sent mine. Soon they will find him,”“Oh, God. That’s a relief,” she turned silent looking at him. “I can’t believe this. I cried and prayed to the moon goddess to give me relief from this situation and my p
“Paul is checking on you,” her friend Susie said and Sirena looked at the man who was standing before the cereal aisle. Pal quickly looked down when he couldn’t meet her eyes.Paul is a thirty-something human guy, who frequents the store. She thought he was one of the regular customers before but the way he glanced at her, made her realize that he was interested in her but she was not in the mood to reciprocate it. To be honest it just frustrates her.Paul came to the counter with a pack of chips. She smiled at him as a courtesy.“It’s two dollars 55 cents,” she said.He gave me his card.“Thank you,” she returned it to him.“Are you free this evening, Melody?” he asks.Sirena uses her real name here, and it suits her well.“No,”“What about the day after tomorrow?” she asks.“No,”“What about this weekend?”“No, I got plans,” Sirena said.Understanding her mindset Paul left without making her any more uncomfortable. Her friend came to talk to her.“Why? Paul is good-looking, and you
Days passed one after the other and it's been months since she was abducted by Alder and got free of something she wondered how she was going to escape. She’d traveled a lot in this time, saw various beautiful places, met a few people, and had a lot of delicious food. She can’t get enough of the life she’s living now. After traveling to a lot of places by bus and hitchhiking with strangers, Sirena finally settled in a quiet seaside village called Sandy Cove which is far away from all the places she’d been to. This is quiet and safe and people here are good to her.She rents a house and it’s been only two days since she got a job in a local store. She has money and she’s glad that she got settled in a safe place. Even she made friends with one of the human girls, who works with her. Her name is Susie.Life is going fine. Her emotions about this life have changed a lot, and has determined not to tell Alder where she is. Sirena talked to him two days before and he told her unbelievable i
The next morning, Sirena woke up hearing the sound of chirping birds. Sunlight passes through the creaks of the curtains and her entire body is so relaxed. She opened the curtains and saw the beautiful view through the window. She smiled widely and headed to the bathroom to take a hot bath. She doesn’t know how long she stayed in there and she came out only when she got too hungry. She immediately called the room service and ordered breakfast. While she was waiting for it, she checked her phone and saw the message that Alder sent her yesterday. My father met him, why? She got so many questions but she doubted whether he’d told anything about her to get friendly with him. She doesn’t trust any men but she feels Alder wouldn’t have done that. He knew her situation and what would happen if anyone finds about her whereabouts but there’s a chance he could’ve slipped information. With many doubts and thinking, she called him. He picked up the call.“Why did you meet my father? What did you
Alder gets a message from Sirena’s father that he wants to meet him in person and not tell anyone about it. Alder got doubtful at first, whether he got to know about what did. It can’t be because he’d done everything in utter secrecy. He had planned that for weeks before executing that. There’s no way anyone could’ve known about it not even his mother. Alpha Alder must’ve called him for something else. Why should I overthink, better I must go and ask him? That would end all the doubts. He decided and sent him a message that he would meet him by nightfall. He continues his work as he did nothing in the past week. He spent the time with Sirena. Everything was going fine until he heard a knock on the door.“Come in,” he heard and the familiar scent made him roll his eyes.“Why are you here?” he asks Grace as she walks in wearing a body-hugging dress and with perfect makeup. He wondered how long she was going to try to get his attention. Before he always wondered why she was around him wh
