The air is tense afterward. “Kane, make sure everyone gets proper medical attention, especially Irene, Beta Joshua, and Drake,” I order him, as he’s in charge of the medical department. He nods and walks down the hallway to check on everyone who has been admitted to the hospital.

“Luna, you need to be treated too,” a nurse walks in and says, looking at the bruises on my arms and waist.

“I’m fine. It’s healing,” I tell her. She gives me a concerned look but then nods.

I stride to the ward where Drake is. He sits on the bed, staring out the window, his face rigid with anger. He senses me and turns around. “Luna.” The pain in his eyes tugs at my heart. His twin sister is missing, and it’s worrying him.

I approach him and pull him into a hug. “We are looking for her,” I tell him. “We won’t stop until we find her. I promise you that.” He nods, trying to act tough by keeping a straight face.
