I smile. It was honestly impressive. That impassive, cold look…Only a beast like Elijah can ace it and fool even the smartest man in the room.

Dad looks at me. “So…what do we do now? You have broken your alliance with Elijah…” he rolls his eyes, “Fake breaking the alliance. But if we are not careful, the King’s men will catch onto our act.”

I nod, agreeing with dad’s concern. I recall Cyrus saying he’ll visit me, by which he meant he would investigate my pack. I have to be prepared for that and not let him see through our plan.
