AMAIRA'S POV

As Jessica whisked the spoon through the pan, turning the omelets sideways, someone walked in and grabbed her legs, stunning her so that she froze and glanced down, only to sigh when she saw Tessa. She was in her uniform and her backpack was still around her shoulders which meant that she was just returning back from school.

"Baby.. " she called out her nickname for her and soon carried Tessa in her arms while she turned the omelets.

"How was school today.. where's Emily?" Tessa didn't answer. She only buried her face in the crook of her neck and hugged her.

Tessa was usually vibrant and energetic, and seeing her like this meant something was really wrong or had went wrong. Emily was the quiet one and not her.

With that, she turned off the cooker and shut the pan before taking Tessa out to see Dad in living room, skimming through a leaflet.

Emily was sitting on the floor doing homework, and since she didn't talk, there was no much use saying anything when she notice
