Scarlet POV

I was reading a story to Michelle when I felt Noah is in pain through the mating bond.

“ Noah?” I call through mind-link, what is going on? I thought it was a meeting but I could feel so much pain that my heart squeezes.

“ Where are you?!” I growl in the bedroom, causing Michelle to look startled, then she begin to panic as I become restless.

“ Noah?!” I growl again, the pain was stronger this time that he could not ignore it, even though he wishes to behave as though he didn’t hear me.

“ I’m okay, Scarlet.” He tells me through the bond, but I can perceive a lie there. He is trying to lie, what’s wrong with him?

He said he was going to take some days for the meeting and the is the only reason I had to spend the nights alone without him.
