Mo hadn't cried since her mother left, not because she considered it a sign of weakness
No, it was not that. It was because she recognized the futility of said action. Tears never got anything done that would not have been done anyways. If you cried to someone and they answered you, then they would have if you hadn't. If they are not moved by your tears, then they never wanted to help anyway. Anyone that loves you does not need to see you crying before they come to your rescue was her thoughts on the matter.
Her overwhelming tears and begging never convinced her mother to stay with her. And her mother claimed to love her.
On top of all that, crying wasted your precious time. Time that could have been spent taking action and changing the circumstance that brought you to tears in the first place.
So, did not spend her day crying and moping around. She didn't go out shopping and sight seeing either.

Hi, this is my first time writing horror, so... what do you think. Did I do good or Nah? Anyways, my next update would be next week so look forward to it. Thank you
Modupe closed her eyes and internally willed away the tears of frustration that threatened to leak out of her eyes for the second time in this blasted country. Shirley and Roy were currently being questioned by the police about what they had discovered. She was personally confused about what to do. How had it happened? The both of them of course were not guilty of the crime and knew that if the CCTV footage of the hotel hallways would prove that but Modupe also knew how messed up the country justice system. The arrested people first and asked questions later. So she had followed them to the station and had requested to be there when the two doctors were questioned. Which was as well with how badly shaken the both of them were, quickly wearing out the thin patience of the said officers of the law."Oyinbo, Abeg talk fast. No dey cry, na wetin you do make you talk." A police officer snapped at Shirley who was crying and shaking while giving her stateme
Aderele's story Before Makunde was born, his pregnant mother went to check his destiny. There she was told that her son, would be the death of her, unless she killed him first. She was so distraught and wanted to kill the baby but he was the only thing she had of her beloved husband who had died after she became pregnant. So she gave birth to Makunde and took very good care of him, pamper him so that he would love her.Makunde grew to be a great warrior and leader. He took over clans and subjected them to his dictatorship. But Makunde was ambitious. All he had was not enough for him. He wanted to be great. He wanted to be powerful. He wanted to be feared by all.You see, he stopped the people he conquered from doing anything but work on farms and bring him their harvest. He would take all he could from them and practically enslave them. The people had no time to do anything but work, eat the meager meals he gave the
The agent found them a three bedroom apartment that night, fortunately. Modupe was relieved about that at least. Now all they needed was to get a good night rest and a plan to prove Shirley and Roy's innocence.Once she was out of this country, Mo promised herself, she was never coming back. Nigeria was obviously injurious to her karma. However, to survive their stay, they had to start by surviving the night. Whilst Mo still had her reservations about the power of the said god Makunde and whether or not he was after them specifically, it was better to be safe than sorry. Will came up with a good plan, Pairing!Everyone was paired with someone else that they had to go every where they needed to with, even the bathroom. So she was paired with Michelle while they guys were paired together. Will with Bob, the most stubborn of the bunch and Jamal with Louis. They had snacks that the agent brought along for dinner that night since it w
They had an extremely busy day but by evening, they were all finally together and complete. To say that Roy and Shirley were traumatized would be an understatement. In fact, everyone of them were scared out of their asses but most of all Mo. She could not forget the sinking feeling she had all day.The fact that she dreamt about the baby every night and would even see the next form of the demon told her that she had a big role to play in this sick fiasco. That morning, the kid she saw was exactly the one she saw in her dream on the last night they spent in the hotel. And when she had yelled at him, he listened, albeit reluctantly and left. Just like that. Her, a mere mortal. It made her feel like a queen pawn! The mother of the demon was her best guess, which according to Aderele, meant that he would be going for her head last. But she could not tell anyone of them. She could not put them in trouble for her sake. So she had
Modupe was so so close to snapping at Will if he told her to calm down one more time. It was not his fault that any of this was happening but change, surprise and the lot were not her cup of tea. And Lord knows that she had had enough of those this week alone to last her a lifetime. The flight she had scheduled for the team was supposed to depart in a few hours and Michelle was still in the emergency room with a group of doctors that had still not shown up after an hour. The situation and the feeling of helplessness was maddening to Mo and she could not stop pacing the entrance of the emergency room. She moved like a walking bomb and she felt like one too. If a doctor did not come and update her ASAP, she might just go off. And bring the hospital down while she was at it. She glanced at the closed doors and waited and paused and waited again and paused and over and over. Will came back with cold ca
A youth trudged over to the road looking weary, hungry and lost. It was dark all around from a moonless night and he desperately needed a means of transportation back to civilization. He had been running in the forest for over an hour haunted by the thoughts of his worst nightmare and now he was tired, dirty and afraid. He stood by the deserted road and stretched out his thumb for any vehicle that would possibly pass by. There would at least be one that he could hitchhike off of.He stood there for a while, ten minutes, twenty and maybe forty as the night seemed to become darker and darker distorting reality and fiction as he imagined what would happen if he did not get picked. As if conjured by his thoughts, a car turned around the corner and started heading towards him fast.He jumped into the road trying to make himself as visible as possible. He jumped and waved his hands several times desperate to get away from a
This chapter is a mixed-up continuation of the two scenes in the last chapter so don't get confused. “Stay with me tonight, Will." Modupe said decided with reckless abandon. “Are you sure, Mo?" Will asked Modupe. Will had always wanted a relationship with her and she deliberately kept pushing him away and tonight, she realized that that was another one of her stupid decisions. She wished she could change that. She would if she was given a chance. Dropping her towel she practically begged. “Make me forget it all. For tonight." *-*-*-* The car drove into the city in perfect silence. The driver glanced at the White man who had fallen asleep not long after he had picked him up. This was too ridiculously easy. “Werey tun sun. It be like say he no sabi the pesin he don waka join for inside moto." “The idiot is even asleep. It's like he has no idea who he is traveling with in the vehicle."
Dr Gabriel Nwankolo walked into the ward containing the female white patient that was admitted the day before. It wasn't his duty to attend to her but he wanted to check on the leg again since he was doing his morning rounds anyway. He threw the door open and saw that she was fast asleep on the bed. He moved closer to the bed and kept his clipboard and pen on a table beside her bed.The wrap around her leg was saggy on the skin and he noted with amazement that her leg was back to it's normal size.Gabriel adjusted his glasses in surprise as though it would alter what he was looking at.He was one of the doctors that had attended to her the day before and he could have bet half his fortune that she would not have survived the night. The rate at which her leg was swelling and the pus... all that pus.... It was like her body was fighting an infection that was more than her body could take.It was truly horrib
It started like any party with the school headmistresses monitoring us all with hawk like eyes. Then in the night, It turned wilder beyond belief. The headmistresses had been drugged by Essa, the school wild girl. I wanted to impress her, so I stayed there, and convinced my gentler twin to do the same. The next morning, I knew without a single doubt that something... everything was insanely wrong. And we were imprissoned in a nightmare. I had to escape, and make sure that my sister also makes it out alive."... I promise you that at the end, you would wish that you were one of the ones whose soul was consumed tonight."
I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all. After saying this, I would love and appreciate your feedbacks and things to watch out for when I do edit the book. It would be really helpful and appreciated. Bonus scene ideas too would be great. Thanks once again.
"Are you ready?" Will asked Modupe."Hmm." She hummed and smiled up at Will who was supporting her frame. "I'm so ready."The duo and the two resident doctors stepped into the vehicle that had been sent for them. The flight earlier had been quiet while they all thought about all they had been through together. The project that they initially came for, their bonding night out, the incident that changed their whole lives and put them on the fast paced pedestal that was this past week.A week! It had seemed like a month, weeks, with all that had happened.Without doubt, they had all matured greatly and learned a lot from the experience... things that they were not going to forget in a hurry!Like the fact that... they could not deny the paranormal. After all, the lack of evidence was not the evidence of lack.Luckily, since Michelle was discharged and spoke to her parents, there was no need for
Mo woke up disoriented and with a throbbing head. Luckily, the sunlight was not in her face, so she could pry her eyes open. "You're awake, Good!" She heard a voice say from behind her making her turn sharply which in turn hurt her head. But at the new view brought two things to her attention. One, she was no longer in the cemetery but at some strange enclosure that looked like a cave. Two, the moon was out, which meant that it was night. With that realization came a sinking dread. It was nearly time for Makunde to kill her. "Roy?!" Last she was awake, she had seen him too and was wondering why he was still in the country. “Do me a favor, Doctor Modupe Bankole Williams." "Sure. Whatever you want." Mo said quickly. Anything to get him to stop crying and get them to the house with the rest for better security. Roy's eyes turned serpentine against her neck but she cou
