(Lancelot’s POV)

It was a mistake to say I will die soon, really. The warm air turned cold, and the gazes of thse two people in front of me didn’t help to ease the awkwardness at all.

In the end, I’m able to only laugh.

“...I was just joking, you two. Don’t look at me like that.”

In an instant, the two jolted as if just being set free from a glamour. They blinked at me in confusion.

“Is it... really a joke, Master?” Taylor sounded careful.

I giggled again. “Of course it is. But the part where I want to give you bonus is true, okay? You have to take it or else I would get mad.”

The butler and the stable boy swallowed nervously. The two seemed to understand what Lancelot getting mad is. As someone who doesn’t skip any part of the novel, I can tell you that Lancelot has bad temper.

“U-Understood, Master.” Taylor finally abides.

I nodded my head happily as a satisfactory gesture and resumed to eat a few pieces of cake, before inviting Hans to join me eating the breakfast.

Time passed by and it was almost lunchtime. Deciding that it’s best that I explore this unknown fief which a notorious mob called Lancelot Ral Constance had, I ordered Taylor to return home while asking for Hans to accompany me to the town.

“B-But Master-” Taylor somehow seemed very worried. To add to the strangeness, Hans too looked quite nervous as he kept of avoiding to look at me, despite still keeping his straight expression.

“W-Won’t it be better if I am the one who accompanied you tp the town. I am an experienced person who knew about the places around this region.”

I nodded as an agreement. “Indeed you are wise. But don’t you think...” My hand moved to gently hit the upper part of his chest. “Don’t you think I will be safe if I have Hans with me? He’s stacked.”

Taylor looked at me in shock while Hans suddenly flushed.

“Hm? What’s wrong?”

“N-Nothing, master.” Taylor cleared his throat. “If it’s your wish, then please be safe in your journey.”

“Yeah, I will.” I smiled at him.

After gaining permission to wander around the town, me and Hans were deciding which horse we should take to go to the small town.

“Taking Ildian might be better for the two of us.” Hans suggested while referring to a huge black stallion, that is bigger and more handsome than me, like, in a sense. I mean, just where can you find a stallion with a beautiful hair and healthy body? I thought there were none in this fief because of the stinginess of Lancelot in giving funds for house management.

“He’s beautiful.” I commented. I stepped closer to the majestic looking animal and offered my hand to touch it. Luckily the stallion named Ildian is quite the gentle horse.

“He wasn’t like this to anyone usually.” Hans informed while setting the reins.

“Really? That kind of makes me happy.” I chuckled and continued to rub his face.

“Now then, shall we go?” Hans tugged the reins to climb up the horse but suddenly halted when I gave him a strange look.

“Is there a matter, sire?” Hans blinked.

“Nothing. Does this means the two of us are going to ride Ildian?”

Suddenly the stable boy flared again. “D-Do you not want to ride together?”

Why is his tone shy? What is wrong with him?

“It’s convenient too if the two of us ride on one horse, but won’t it be uncomfortable? I mean...” I stepped near him and fathomed my arms. “I am indeed smaller than you but we might want to have our own personal space, don’t you think?”

For a quick moment, I swear I saw his eyes glint. He then fell into an awestruck state for a couple of seconds.

“...Yeah, you are right.”

“I told you, right?” I giggled. Because of the long amount of time we spent just to choose a horse, Taylor who was waiting inside the horse carriage stuck his head out to check up on us.

“Master, is there something wrong?”

I shook my head as a reply. “Nothing. We have chosen our horses so you can go now.”

Hans then immediately released the horses that we chose before putting an individual seat on each of them.

With that, the three of us went to our separate ways.

(Lancelot’s POV)

As an avid fan of ‘The Love OF My Life’ I am well informed of this town’s agricultural situation. I used to scorn Lancelot for abusing his fief people but never expected to be transmigrated as him. What a karma.

The Constance estate was small so in just about a few minutes, I am able to reach the town inside my fief.

Parallel to my expectation, the town is really in shambles. Although magic is supposed to be well known in the entirety of this world, this town has no advancement as such.

Additionally, I could feel people staring daggers at me as me and Hans galloped inside the town. Given all the torture I gave to all of these helpless people, there’s no telling how much hatred they stored for me. If I won’t get killed by the prince, sooner or later one of these grudging people would do it.

“Hans.” I pulled the reins of Ildian’s and the stallion stopped. Following behind me, I heard Han’s horse slowly galloping towards my side.

“Yes, sire?”

I spared another glance to my surrounding and to the far distance of the path we’re in, where the view of rundown and badly managed houses filled my eyes.

“It’s disastrous.” I muttered, causing Hans who heard me to stay silent. The stable boy probably knows who was behind all this, if not others, it was the person who’s beside him.

Memories of what that bastard Lancelot did to this town resurfaced inside my mind. The torture, the tax, the drought and the abandonment, all of them were what caused this town to stoop this low in life quality. It is a prove of how bad he was as a noble who was supposed to take care of others.

But I probably won’t do well as a noble too. I am a middle aged man who was a burden to others, shied away from any will of being useful. At least I was useful at the very end of my life, when I gave my heart to my nephew.

My nephew, I wonder how she’s doing right now? I hope she’s doing well.

The view of the starving people snapped me from my daze. Kicking my sense back in, I decided that it’s time to make changes in this town, but not when I’m this oblivious.

“I need to know what happens to this town.” I implored.

“Yes?” Hans turned to me, looking like he was half listening to what I just said.

Blowing a sigh, I turned to look at the stable boy and smiled. “Bring me to the chief’s house.”

(Lancelot’s POV)When we finally reached the chief’s house which is located at the edge of the town, the glaring of the townsfolk during our journey here is unbearable. Somehow even when we were standing at the front door of the wooden house that doesn’t look like the house of a town chief at all, Hans were trying to protect me from the dagger stares by standing behind me while both of us waited for the chief to response to the door knocking that I did a few moments ago.A few moments later, a head peaked out from the door. Based on his attire and the wise aura he emitted, he was probably the chief of the town, a middle aged, short, chubby, and kind looking guy.“Hello.” I bloomed a smile. Spiting others like what Lancelot usually does wasn’t my cup of tea, so I just acted according to what I like.Though, instead of a heartfelt greeting back, he crouched down low to the ground while he pleaded for mercy.“Please! Please give us more time. We will pay the tax soon we promise!”Despite

(Asher’s POV)“Renovations? What do you mean by that?” I frowned. What is happening exactly? Right after Baron Constance was finally proved guilty for all the crimes that he had committed, in addition of trying to hurt Cecilia, I received news that he had consumed poison to commit suicide. That could come as a good news to me but then, he suddenly wake up and started doing strange things around his fief.“It is as exactly as I had said. Our spy reported to me that he had increased all the servants salary by tenfold, in addition of giving a huge compensation after the end of this month.” My royal advisor, Aran reported while flipping through the pages of what it seemed like the report document.“I see. Then, what is with this new discovery that you talked about?”“Yes. Apparently Baron Constance disclosed an amazing agricultural discovery that our researchers had never been able to solve before.”“What is it?”“It is about the usage of a new type of soil mixture to bury a dea

(Asher’s POV)Baron Constance was known for wearing extravagant outfits and jewelries to show his riches, and he would always style his hair backwards, making him look cunning. The sight of him letting his hair loose and wearing only a simple outfit of white tunic tucked into a pair of black trousers felt very unfamiliar to me.“I am sorry for looking this slovenly while meeting you.” He bowed. My eyes twitched. Unless I am blind, I think that simplicity suits him better than any level of extravagance. Just a sight of him looks beautiful. That idea caused me to think, that the Baron had changed outwardly, which no words could describe how he looks like right now. The only words that I could think of when I see him is...Strangely, beautiful.I cleared my throat when I realized that I had stared too much.“Worry not. It is our fault too for coming so suddenly without any notice. I apologize if we disturb your busy time.” That was the excuse that we planned to come u

(Asher’s POV)“I see. Miragela poison, huh? You may leave.” I motioned to the maid who was the spy of the house and she left. Aran was writing something in his other small notebook where he usually kept his research notes.“I believe Miragela poison is incurable and the research to find its cure has been ongoing for years already, yet Baron Constance wants to find the cure in only a month? And without medicine at that? I’m starting to think of him as a suicide maniac.” I voiced my opinions to Aran and he nodded in agreement. “In my opinion also, finding cure for Miragela in a month is impossible. Even if there were a cure for it, it might take a long time to produce it as our researchers had tried almost all of the ingredients that the central continent have.”“Hmm. They might need to go to other continent to find ingredients for the cure. I kinda feel sorry for his fruitless attempt.”Aran chuckled.“Who knows? He is the one who discovers the half part of our rese

  • Reincarnated as a Mob   Chapter 8

(Lancelot’s POV)The night ended and the day comes. Including today, it has been 10 days since I reincarnated into this world. That means I have about 20 days to live if I did nothing to cure the poison inside me. After sending the prince off, I spent more of my time riding my horse and exploring the fief. While I was exploring the farmland, I noticed that most of the dead lands were already buried with the new soil that I have advised the farmers to make. And for some reason, there are more people in the farmland than usual. Are they all of the townsfolk?...No way right?“Right, there is no way they would go all out just to heed this tyrant’s advice.”I nodded, trying to convince myself. When I reached the end of my fief, I realised that the figures that I saw on the first day of my reincarnation weren’t here. Did they perhaps regroup? They never mention anything about Lancelot being guarded by the royalty in the novel so I’m kinda anxious about them. B

Aran nodded his head and continued, “Not only that, but the knights in the household were surprised to see that his sword style also changed.”I raised an eyebrow.“What do you mean by that?”“I mean it as it is. He changed from a dual sword to a one hand sword user.”“I see.”Interesting. Suddenly I feel like having a duel with the Baron to test his strength. I smirked.“And? Anything more?”I asked and Aran’s eye twitched.“Well...”He tried to avoid my gaze. What now? Did she said anything strange in her letter?“In this letter, Maria also stated some weird words at the end of it.”Aran finally spilled it out after I glared at him for a full minute.“Hmm? What is it?”“It said ‘I am master’s family’ something like that.”I looked at him blankly.“Wait, she heard that? I thought the servants were busy with their own shenanigans that night?”Aran shrugged as a response.“She is keen, after all.

(Suna’s POV)I glanced at the person in front of me. When he first entered the room, I could see that he was slightly nervous and also unexpectedly surprised to see me. But it is strange, I’m pretty sure that this is the first time I see Baron Lancelot Ral Constance. After news about his family had passed away and him taking the lead, I became disinterested in him, especially after people said that he is a notorious bastard who used his family’s riches to do whatever he wanted. Though, things started to change about a few weeks ago, when we received announcement from the headquarters of the company to send any merchant who was nearby the town of Isaia, as the Baron of the fief wants to hold business with us. Things get interesting soon after, when the group that went there suddenly requested the opening of the dimensional gate for a few days to haul items that the Baron had sold straight to the HQ. What’s more, the Baron literally sold all the r

(Lancelot’s POV)As I brushed my light brown hair backwards, I stared at myself many times in the mirror. Now that I look closely, I really have reincarnated as Lancelot Ral Constance. A slightly 23 and slender stature, Caucasian skin, with amber eyes and light brown wavy short hair. He has such beautiful features yet not much readers remembered him as he died very early in the novel. I also felt guilty because I too never cared to remember him, especially because he was an evil person, who just does everything that Avery asked him to do. Speaking of Avery, today was the day where I finally was asked to accompany her to the royal ball in the palace to celebrate her engagement with the second prince, Louis Ilya Tristan. That night will also be the moment where I will die, either by the first prince’s hands, or by the poison. I have trained my swordsmanship skills enough already, so maybe the poison will kill me later than usual.“Master, are you ready?”Taylor knock

Lancelot’s POV“Uhm, excuse me.” A female voice appeared, snapping me from my thoughts.“What is it?” Asher replied to the voice. When I turned to look at who he was speaking, the first thing that I noticed was that sparkling blonde hair, and those ears.“The chef was concerned about whether you people have eaten, so he prepared a little meal as enjoyment.” She informed, while holding a tray of cheese sandwich and a teapot. After being given permission, she set the tray down in between where Aran and Rokhan sat, and poured some tea for us.“Thank you.” I told her. Despite her smooth motion in pouring the tea, I can see a little blush on her cheeks. That somehow sent me in a state of bliss, because if I may highlight it again.Elves are beautiful. And the girl who was serving snacks to us is an elf.The elf maid was probably happy being thanked to, because I became the

Behind him, were all the servants of the County, all hoarding me and were expressing their concern of me.“Thank you, but I am fine, as you can see.” I replied, accompanied with a troubled chuckle. Even in dire situations, they never failed to light up my mood.“Lord Lancelot.” A voice greeted me. I looked around the crowd and noticed Rokhan standing at a safe distance from the crowd. He probably didn’t want to get squashed like I did.“If you will, we need to talk for a moment, along with Lord Aran and His Highness.” He pointed his gaze at me, then slightly glanced at both Aran and Asher, who was somewhere nearby.“Ehhh that’s unfair! Let us in on the discussion too, we want to know what hap

Lancelot’s POVThe first thought that I have in mind when I arrived at Isaiya was; where is my feet? I mean, I couldn’t see a thing apart from things that are very close to me, as an example, Asher’s hand that was holding mine.“Are you hurt anywhere?” Asher’s voice appeared, but I couldn’t make out his face that much, all because of the thick smog-like magenta aura all around us.“I’m fine.” I replied.“Thank goodness.” There was a hint of relief in his tone when he said that.“Where are we, by the way? I can’t see anything with all this smog.” I paused a bit as I looked around. “It seems we are also separated from everyone else.”“Indeed.” Asher said, agreeing to my comment. “Let’s try to get the feel of our surroundings first. I’ll try sensing Izana’s aura in the meantime.”The two of us be

I thought that you would be worried about Asher or something.” Noel said. I shook my head in response, as I replied in a nonchalant manner. “Well, even if Lancelot were to fight both Izana and Asher right now, I don’t think he would have a chance in winning. Izana is a guardian, and Asher ranked just below his father in terms of battle prowess. Unless he used some kind of tricks, they won’t lose easily.”“Fair enough.” Noel nodded. “Which is why we will be leaving this near consciousness as soon as possible. Injuries might happen to this body if they fight, which might put a strain on you when you regained control of this body.”I nodded in understanding. Noel looked up, and seemed to be scanning the place. He then lifted his rig

I want you to keep watch here at Isaiya. Keep the people safe, and if by chance Avery comes here, protect the people at all cost.”That was what the crown prince, Asher Sol Tristan, the supposedly anti-romantic, non-interested in people type of person, told me before he bolted with his horse somewhere. Because of his orders, which is second after the king’s decree, I have no power to refuse, so I stayed, with two knight companies ready at my beck and call.Man, I’m back at Isaiya again.I mean, it’s not like I hate this town or anything, but being far away from my home in the capital kinda gave me homesickness. Asher’s POV“So, you’re telling me that Lancelot has been acting strange?” Izana chuckled. I found myself frowning towards his behaviour, which I deemed irked me a bit. But still, he has been chuckling in many serious occasions, so no surprise there.“What makes you think that way?” Izana suddenly asked. While he did, I saw him cupping his chin and looking at an indistinct direction. It’s hard to determine what his train of thoughts looked like.“…What do you mean?” I hesitated before I answered him. In hindsight, I was the only one who interacted with Lancelot after he woke up. Louis and Cecilia weren’t in the room with me to witness, so what kind of evidence do I have to prove it?“I think…” I muttered to myself, hesitating again. “He called me by my name, a lot. And he responded to my flirting as if I’ve flirted with him before.”Izana widened

The slight shifting of her aura woke her up from her brief nap, right at the moment where she saw that wretched man’s smirk.‘How nostalgic.’ She thought, as she stood up and dusted her clothes. ‘Even after death, you kept on haunting me, Enrique.’Avery kept her monologue internally, while she stared far at the distance. The mana that she projected to sense his trails was halted and shifted from one direction to another, stopping Avery and causing her to stay on observing mode. A few days ago, it halted on a single direction, but Avery chose to stay and foresee the situation first before moving. She wouldn’t want to waste more energy or mana after all.

Lancelot’s POVI heaved a low sigh.Alright, now that I have cried my eyes out and literally stained a part of Asher’s tunic, I feel calmer and more collected, and also quite hungry. My stomach was quite vocal about it, so in the very next moment, I saw several servants worked their way around the room, going from assisting me to the bathroom for a bath, setting the table, to serving the dishes. My cheeks felt hot somehow. I don’t think it’s the aftereffect of taking a bath, but more on me reminiscing of me sobbing pathetically on Asher’s shoulders. The more I thought about it, the more embarrassing it is. Well, aren’t I a successful adult for crying on someone’s shoulders? Can’t say I’m one but that’s sad, Sakamaki Yuu! And you’re already a middle-aged man to boot!Despite that, Asher looked more relaxed and nonchalant than I thought. He quietly ate while he sat on the chair next to my bed, with a small table set between him and my bed. As for me, I ate on the small table erected on t

(Lancelot’s POV)I didn’t know how grateful I was when I opened my eyes to a dimly lit surrounding. Upon longer dithering, I assumed that I was laying down on a bed, and that its barely dawn. I laboriously pulled myself up to sit; wanting to take a proper look at the rising sun, through the glass window across me.“…Lancelot?”I halted, upon hearing a voice to my side.It took me some time to register whose voice it was, but when I turned beside me, I saw a figure towering me. The little sunlight from the rising sun made his raven hair glimmery, and I saw those silver eyes looked directly into mine.“Ash-” I wasn’t able to finish that word, before getting wrapped up in an embrace. That caused me to flinch a bit. In that moment, a distinct amount of warmth usurped within, causing me to blush.Asher…That was the only thing I could think of. I slipped both of my arms behind his back and clung tightly onto him, as I enjoyed the radiating warmth of his body. And as if knowing my intention
