(ATLAS’ POV - IN RHEA'S BODY)

“Alpha Caden!” Hera exclaimed, her voice a sharp edge that cut through the buzz of the banquet. Her furious expression instantly shifted to one of shock as she looked down.

I opened my eyes, curiosity piqued, and saw Caden Wildsight, Alpha of the Duskwynd Pack, standing tall and imposing in front of me. His grip on Hera's ankle was unyielding, his eyes a storm of controlled fury. The sheer presence of him was magnetic, radiating the raw power that only an Alpha possessed.

His voice, a low growl that seemed to reverberate through the room, sent shivers down my spine. “This banquet is supposed to be a celebration for unity, not some petty cruelty, correct?”

“Petty?” Hera struggled against Caden’s grip, her face contorted in rage. "This omega dared to—"

Before she could finish, Caden cut her off. He released her ankle and stepped forward, making Hera retreat. “This maid acted in defense of her dignity. Something you would do well to remember, Lady Hera.”

(ATLAS' POV - IN RHEA'S BODY)The ballroom fell into a heavy silence at Mortis’s command. No one dared to utter a whisper about the public 'trial' of Hera, his daughter.Mortis turned to Hera, his displeasure cutting through his otherwise stoic demeanor. “Apologize to him, Hera,” he commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument.A few gasps rippled through the onlookers, but my mind was racing with protest. I clasped my hands, barely restraining myself from bursting out:'Apologize to him?' I raised an eyebrow, trying to make sense of it. 'He means Caden, right? But what about me?'My gaze shifted to Caden’s back. The Alpha of the Duskwynd pack stood silent in the center of the crowd, his elegant green attire enhancing his commanding presence. His posture was calm, but there was a quiet power in the way he held himself.‘Calm down, Atlas. Don’t make things worse for yourself right now,’ I reminded myself, forcing a deep breath.I couldn’t decipher what Caden was thinking, but his ga

(CADEN'S POV)“I’m sorry, what?” she asked, clearly caught off guard. I watched Lady Rhea blink in surprise, her confusion evident in her raised voice. Then she quickly glanced around as if to make sure no one was eavesdropping, before meeting my unwavering gaze once more.“Your Luna?” she repeated, her voice now steady as she absorbed the weight of my request.I nodded, my expression earnest. “Yes, Lady Rhea. Duskwynd needs a Luna who embodies strength, grace, and leadership. I see those qualities in you. Will you consider it?”I watched Lady Rhea’s reactions closely, noting her visible discomfort. I knew all too well how my directness could come off as blunt. My late wife had frequently pointed out my lack of finesse, reminding me that without a touch of subtlety, important negotiations could turn awry.In that moment, I also caught the subtle twitch at the corner of Lady Rhea’s mouth, a clear sign that she was thrown off balance. For some reason, I could almost hear her thoughts scr

(RHEA’S POV - IN ATLAS'S BODY)"Ugh… I can’t wait for this banquet to end," I muttered to myself, each step feeling as heavy as lead, my enthusiasm about as high as a deflated balloon. "And staying alive, of course."With a final deep breath, I braced myself for the grand entrance into the banquet hall. But as I stepped out from behind the towering mahogany pillar, I collided with someone.“Ah!” A familiar voice yelped. The figure in front of me staggered backward, and instinctively, I shot out a hand to steady them before we both ended up on the floor.“Are you alright…?” I asked, trying to get my bearings. As my eyes adjusted, I realized who it was. “Atlas?”“You! Rhea!” Atlas gasped, breathless and wide-eyed. He glanced over his shoulder, clearly rattled. “Dud! You've got to listen! Hera approached me at the banquet, and Caden—he told her to apologize! Then he took me outside, and—”“Whoa, slow down!” I interrupted, gripping his shoulder gently. “Take a breath, Atlas. (RHEA’S POV - IN ATLAS'S BODY)The guests began to murmur among themselves in hushed tones, their voices a chorus of shock and intrigue.“Did you hear that right? That omega maid is actually Alpha Atlas's true mate?” one woman whispered to her companion, her eyes wide with disbelief.“I can't believe it,” her friend replied, shaking her head. “An Omega as his mate? Wouldn't this be a trouble?”“I share your sentiments!” a man chimed in, his brow furrowed. “He has always been so against Omegas.”“What will Alpha Caden do now? He must be furious,” another man said, glancing nervously toward Caden. "That omega was truly rude. Earlier, Alpha Caden have defended her and now she's publicly rejecting Alpha Caden?"“This is bound to cause a stir in Nighstpire’s political dynamics,” a middle-aged Alpha noted with worry, his fingers drumming against his glass. “Would things be okay from now on?”The murmurs continued to ripple through the room as everyone awaited my response with bated breath,

If Caden turned out to be a threat instead of an ally, then I had no choice but to fight him here. Before I could even lament on how much enemies Atlas might had, Caden’s next words caught me by surprise.“Bravo, Alpha Atlas!” Caden declared, his voice brimming with genuine admiration. “You’ve proven the rumors wrong! Despite everything being said, it’s clear you truly care about your pack.”Caden took a breath, his gaze shifting to Atlas who stood beside me.“And Lady Rhea,” he added with a respectful nod in my direction, “your bravery shines just as brightly. Your resolve is nothing short of remarkable.”The atmosphere shi

(HERA’S POV)“Our intel was wrong, father. Atlas is not the type to be swayed by every woman he sees,” I began, my voice barely masking my irritation. “My last attempt to seduce him failed miserably. He’s completely devoted to that omega maid.”I knelt on the damp forest floor, frustration gnawing at me like a relentless predator. I forced myself to breathe slowly, aware that any outburst might provoke my father’s ire. Our latest plan had crumbled due to a miscalculation, and I knew better than to show weakness now.Meanwhile, Mortis, my father, loomed like a dark specter beside a towering oak within the secluded grove of the Glorywayne manor. His fingers formed a steeple under his chin, his gaze piercing and cold, dissecting my every move. His lips curled into a thin, menacing smile. "Clearly, everyone at the banquet could see that. Don’t you think, my daughter?" His voice was eerily calm, each word a dagger of disappointment. My heart jumped in fear. I knew my father was displeased.

(RHEA’S POV - IN ATLAS'S BODY)The banquet hall was a sea of glittering chandeliers and soft murmurs. It was a complete contrast to the chaotic bloodshed, screams of terror, and the scenes of the Glorywayne’s maids and servants hunts from my past life.Atlas extended his homemade cocktail towards me. I took the glass, my hand trembling as I felt its cold surface.“Hey,” Atlas said, still standing and half-leaning towards me. He gave my hand a firm grasp. We didn't exchange many words, but in that brief moment, Atlas locked eyes with me. The gentle pressure of his slender fingers sent a wave of comfort through me.I let out a sigh and nodded, letting Atlas go to prepare another drink for Caden. I took a sip of the cocktail in my hand, trying to steady my emotions. That night, Atlas, Caden, and I decided to gather in a VVIP room still within the ballroom area. The balcony was open, and the night breeze filled the air, a refreshing change from the tension of the past days. Guardians fro

(CADEN’S POV)“Forgive my comments, sir—” Conrad grunted as he strained to steer my much larger and unsteady body forward. “But why do you decide to drink this much every time we’re on an important mission?”I could hear the frustration in Conrad’s voice, but I wasn’t in the mood to explain myself. A heavy weight settled on my chest. For some reason, however, I smiled.Yeah, I wondered to myself—why indeed?Suddenly, a subtle sweetness drifted past my nose, almost like the nostalgic taste of a sour apple. I came to a sudden stop, my eyes scanning the hallway for the source of the scent. And then I saw her—a woman in a maid's uniform, standing by one of the windows. Her back was to us as she diligently cleaned the glass. A cleaning cart was parked nearby, and her fiery auburn hair caught the light. She had to be one of Atlas’ staff, but her demeanor seemed staged in my eyes.I watched as Conrad, ever vigilant, stopped to see what had caught my attention. He must have noticed the shift

I’m just keeping my end of the bargain. You wanted Atlas under control, right?”“And you brought him here, to my base?” Mortis’s voice was calm, but I could sense the barely restrained irritation beneath it.“Yeah, so here he is,” Lucien replied with a huff, glancing at me one last time before stepping closer to Mortis. “I’ve done my part. I want out of this.”I looked up, locking my gaze on Lucien. My tongue worked

RHEA’S POV“Daisy,” I called softly, reaching out to my best friend. On her bed, she kept staring out the window, her gaze unfocused but intense, as if she could somehow see beyond the horizon. Every now and then, her shoulders would tense, and I knew she was thinking of Lucien.I felt a pang of guilt—not because I regretted stopping him, or letting Atlas deliver his punishment, but because I could see how much Daisy was suffering in the process. We were both here, confined to this hospital room to heal, but Daisy’s worry was tearing her apart. Her mate, Lucien, was likely in a torture chamber right now, facing consequences he’d brought upon himself. But knowing that didn’t make it easier for her.Slowly, Daisy turned to look at me, her expressive eyes filled with sadness. She had always worn her heart on her sleeve, making her emotions plain as day. If she had been in her werewolf form, I imagined her ears drooping, her tail tucked low—a picture of pure sorrow.“Rhea…” she whispered,

His eyes fluttered open, squinting against the dim torchlight that flickered in the cramped, dank cell.He slowly tilted it upwards, the surprise in his eyes was a sign that he knew he was bound against a rough, wooden stake. The iron chains wrapped tightly around his body.Lucien stopped struggling after a while and shifted his stare onto me. “I’m not into your play kinks, Atlas,” he sighed. From the hospital, I had taken Lucien into and underground prison in the Glorywayne manor. The same prison cell where Kaida died in my last life.“Thought you’ll stay dead,” I said, leaning back in my chair a few paces away. My tone was cold, deliberately distant. I had no intention of showing any sympathy.Lucien let out another groan, this one tinged with more annoyance.“Did you really have to knock me out, Atlas?” His voice carried a casual nonchalance that grated on my nerves. “I was just teaching that omega some manners, y

(RHEA'S POV)I lay in Atlas’s arms as the waves of pleasure subsides, the warmth of his body wrapping around me like a comforting blanket. We were both breathless, lost in the afterglow of our passion, and for a brief, blissful moment, the worries of what was about to come faded into nothingness.I nestled closer, resting my head on his chest, listening to the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. For those few precious seconds, it felt as if nothing could disturb the peace we had found in each other’s embrace. We were safe, together, exactly where we were meant to be.But reality has a cruel way of shattering even the most perfect moments.“Let me go!”A desperate cry echoed from somewhere nearby, jolting me back to the present. My body tensed, the tranquility of our moment together slipping away, replaced by a growing sense of dread.“Did you hear that?” I asked, my voice barely more than a hoarse whisper, though my senses were now razor-sharp.Atlas’s frown deepened, his expression darke

(DAISY’S POV)My steps reverberated on the stairs. I was heading up towards the VVIP ward where Rhea was staying. I returned to check on Rhea, thinking that she and Atlas had finished their conversation. There were still things that I wanted to clarify with her. About her feelings towards Atlas. Could she really be accepting the alpha or was she simply forced because of her circumstances as an omega mate to Atlas."Ah!"That was Rhea's voice!"Oh no!"My footsteps echoed even more as I hurried stepping up the stairs and eventually reaching Rhea's VVIP ward. My heart pounding with a sense of unease I couldn’t shake. Rhea had been through so much—too much, really—and I just wanted to make sure she was okay.I needed to see for myself that she was all right. As I get closer to Rhea’s room, I came to a realization that something completely different might've been happening to her."Atlas!"Then, I heard it again—Rhea’s voice, but this time, it was accompanied by something else. (RHEA'S POV)A sharp intake of breath that betrayed my attempt to remain calm. I kept my heads down, not daring to look up and see Atlas’ expression.I couldn’t remember the last time I experienced my heat in my previous lifetime, but I did remember the satisfied look on Lucien’s face when he almost had me in the poolside house. That memory alone was enough to send a shiver down my spine, tainting any sense of safety I might have felt. When Atlas touched my shoulder, I flinched. The reaction was instant, a reflex born from those painful memories. My body betrayed me, recoiling from his touch even though I wanted nothing more than to be close to him. Atlas immediately drew back, his presence retreating from the bed as if he had done something wrong.“Sorry. I should’ve controlled myself.” There was a slight tremble in his voice as he stepped away, guilt and uncertainty lacing his words.“You did nothing wrong, Atlas. It’s just… my heat.” My voice wavered as I tried to reassure him.The

We’re on the brink of being wiped out—remember?"“Oh, right…” I stammered, my cheeks flushing with heat. I couldn’t believe I’d almost lost control and jumped on him.'What is wrong with me?' I screamed internally. The growing ache in my lower abdomen made me shift uncomfortably, hoping it would pass.“Sorry, Atlas. I don’t really have many ideas,” I confessed, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over me.Atlas's eyes bore into mine, a faint growl rumbling in his throat—a clear sign of his irritation. But instead of the scolding I expected, he merely shrugged and continued applying the ointment.“Never mind. It’s probably better if you rest first. Did the hospital staff treat you poorly?”“No, not at all!” Daisy quickly shook her head, her hands flailing a bit in her haste to dismiss the idea. “The nurses were incredibly kind. They gave me my shots and medicine. His expression remained professionally composed as he took the seat across from me. Once inside, he closed the door firmly, ensuring our privacy. I took a seat opposite him, my anticipation growing with every passing second."First," Wayne said, opening a thick file overflowing wit
