Before Hamish could finish his sentence, Xena pulled him away. He stumbled a bit from being dragged, saying, "Slow down. Show me some respect in front of your people!"

Xena chuckled, "You should know their respect for you is entirely because of me. Don't get it twisted."

"Yeah, they're all your hired bodyguards?"

"What's that supposed to mean? Just the first day of being my boyfriend, you're already eyeing my entourage?"

Just as they arrived at the hospital, they spotted Vanessa in the lobby. She turned her back to them then, conversing with a man. The man appeared to be in his thirties. He would occasionally pat Vanessa's head, showing a doting expression.

Hamish furrowed his brows slightly, "Is that brat in love?"

Xena remained silent. The Carsons and the Morgans had hurt her deeply, so they refrained from interfering. It was their most basic boundary. Suddenly, Hamish called out, "Vanessa!"
